  • jeanasina says, Greetings Sharond! Saw your note on my last review...I WILL keep you posted! I’m not blown away by the tightening results myself to date on this product. For something that cost $185.00 I did expect more. Stay tuned because in mid-December I have a NEW product coming to me that I asked to review and I’m hoping to actually experience the YES IT REALLY WORKS results you are looking for too!

  • g35queen says, Hi Sharond, I just joined here recently and know you are a friend of Gigi. Any friend of hers is a friend of mine in this glamour girl forum. I noticed someone commented on your profile saying something about you having curly hair and wanting to tame you mane? I highly recommend trying the Sleek Style line by Matrix. It seems to have a silicone serum in it or something that keeps the frizzies under control. If you want extra moisture, do a deep conditioning treatment with their Conditioning Balm. Love it! Have a fabulous weekend!!

  • steph222 says, Hey there, sharond! I saw your comments on your quest for curly hair help. My hubby has very curly hair, easily frizzable & HATES hair products, but he actually really likes the Tigi Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier. I've made him use tons of different products (even the Bumble & Bumble ones that I heard so much about). His hair gets frizzy with a change in the wind, but with this product his hair is perfection! Hope this helps!

  • jeanasina says, Hello SharonD! I love your icon!!! In regard to the Watkins hand and body lotion...I actually have seen it at Target recently (tiny area in cosmetics) also can be found at drugstore.com (it's on sale right now on their site) I love drugstore.com they have everything you could want to buy there (lots of time on sale) free shipping if you spend enough $'s - you don't have to leave your house! Watkins has their own website with ALL their product line http://www.watkinsonline.com/jenkins/?gCatalogLocale=USA however the cost is a bit more than other places where you can order it. Lastly I found it at Amazon.com too! Both Amazon and drugstore.com provide tons of reviews which of course we at Meg's makeup LOVE!!! Hope you are able to get your hands on some or some on your hands soon!

  • champ3377 says, That is a sad but incredibly inspirational story. I just read it five times and will most likely do so again. Who on the planet scores 99.99% on an Iowa science test? Kudos! I just said, "What?" aloud to myself when I read it. I did very well in high school (not particularly bright, but Ruthie and I just work hard), yet science and math are where I get off (unless, of course, unless it relates to ingredients used in beauty products). I'm so sorry that teacher was a monster--your husband should have knocked him out! Unfortunately, that condescending, judgmental attitude continues and what I mainly try to do with my students is discover their strong points, as you did yours (sewing and design, engineering, etc.). They need positive reinforcement. I tell them them with sincerity that we're all blessed with unique gifts no one else has and say I'm there to help them discover theirs. It's not easy when you encounter an occasional "terrorist" but I keep my promise. On the first day of school, I explain that I will never, ever insult or humiliate them no matter what. I encourage them to speak freely and ensure that the other students and I will respect anything their opinions. I realize criticism stings, especially at that age, and many don't have anyone in whom to confide; their egos are fragile. This often comes to mind: in high school, I was daydreaming about my boyfriend in one class and the teacher caught me (a first for me, as I generally paid attention). He started firing questions at me left and right and I was clueless. He screamed, "Miss Sommers, you're a moron! You make me sick!" I still can feel how hot my face was and wanted the floor to open and drop in the hole. And I'd still like to strangle him for that. Last year, I shared a homeroom with an old-school business teacher (I took attendance and he worked with the officers of various clubs). At Christmas he gave each student a ridiculously pricey gift card to Best Buy. I made a small contribution, but we don't have the money for this. Right after they received them, he asked one guy if he had brought in a signed press release form. This student had won an accounting competition and the school was given $500 for it; they wanted to put an article in the newspaper. He had forgotten it, and the teacher stood there and berated him so badly that I stood up and said, "Enough! So he forgot--tell me you never forgot anything! What kind of Christmas spirit is that? You don't know the meaning of it!" It's an unwritten rule never to undermine another teacher publicly, but this poor kid was turning burgundy and there were tears in his eyes. I'm not into abuse. So glad you wrote back; pardon the novels you receive in return! An engineer--I couldn't do it in a million years, but that is so cool!

  • champ3377 says, Wow, Sharond, where to start? You SEW? I have even more respect for you, if that's possible! Sewing is sadly a lost art. My mom went to dress designing school briefly and used to buy great fabrics and patterns when they went on sale in department stores (I swear I spent half of my life perusing pattern books with her). When my sister Ruthie and I saw how she labored over her magnificent clothing (much prettier and better quality than most purchased), we felt like queens wearing her items and actually fought over them as teenagers. My parents were never rich, but we had what we needed. And we learned to work for what we had and were grateful for it. I'm sure your Godchildren really DO appreciate your efforts and talent even if they don't verbalize it yet. How cool! Oh, I agree on telling kids not to follow what others do. Ruthie actually chose the clothing her sons wore for many years, even as they grew older--as in no pants hanging halfway down their bodies, offensive, disheveled T-shirts, etc. They truly didn't mind; they used looking different to their advantage and girls have always fallen all over them. Students have often asked me if I used to get drunk in college. So I told them the truth and said, "There's something better than being drunk." That gets their attention and they are anxious to hear what I say. I explain that I refused to "drink until I dropped" like my sorority sisters and, when we had mixers with fraternities on Monday nights and weekend parties, I'd say to handsome guys, batting my eyelashes in a Scarlett O'Hara way, "Oh, you have something better for me than beer don't you?" They actually started ordering soda and Hawaiian Punch in specially and I flirted like crazy and was asked out while my friends were passed out in their own vomit. I had a student e-mail me today. Lauren is gorgeous, with incredible hair below her waist (not one split end). She wrote, "Mrs. D., Nick thinks I should cut my hair to my shoulders. I don't want to, so what do you think?" I wrote back and asked if she likes her hair and she does. And then I very gently said, "Lauren, why in the world are you listening to someone who is advising you to do what you don't want?" Oh, Lord, I spend half of my day as a psychologist, but it's a blessing: My kids know I won't betray their confidences and can relate to me when I tell them what I did at their age. Can you hear me applauding for you?

  • champ3377 says, Thanks--as a teacher, I spend a great amount of time dealing with adolescent image issues, often more than preparing for lectures or correcting papers. A girl came to me this year and asked for my help. She confessed that she's slept with nearly every guy in the school and still doesn't feel pretty (of course, I advised her to see a doctor ASAP). She doesn't feel "pretty" (she has a perfect face and translucent, amazing blue eyes). I don't understand her rationale here. I'm not qualified to handle her problems, and so I asked her to see the counselors as well. You made an excellent comment about the "most eligible bachelor;" I never stopped to think that they aren't real. I hate "mass mentality" thinking. When our news ran coverage of the new IPhone, they interviewed people who waited in line for fifteen hours to buy one. One man was asked why he did so; he said he needs it to provide information he can't get on his other one--okay, makes sense. The next man said, "I don't know. I guess it's the thing to do." How sad.

  • champ3377 says, Yeah, I know. This is even more ridiculous: In my old age, I had a HUGE crush on Heath Ledger after seeing "A Knight's Tale" (he and my first love could have been born identical twins). When he died I learned he had dated Mary-Kate and I was disappointed. How juvenile is that? At least I'll admit it to you, Sharond.

  • champ3377 says, Sharond, please forgive me. The computer's been dragging and freezing all day and I didn't get a chance to thank you for your suggestions; you chose the same shades I had my eyes on, and now I feel justified in spending the money. That was really nice of you . . .

  • champ3377 says, What happened to my money? Our mandatory PA car inspection cost $900 for one and will most likely cost the same for the other, now in the garage. The dishwasher simply quit on the same day as the A/C! I don't remember life before air--it's so stifling that we're non-functional. Thank God for a room air conditioner in our bedroom. There are worse problems, but I'm annoyed. And broke.

  • champ3377 says, Well, here's what happened to my makeup money: I have none until payday! I decided to create a palette of Cat shadows and I agree--she should offer more hues. I can't think of the name of one, but she describes it as a very rich chocolate with a hint of gold. If you were to put together a palette, what shades would YOU choose (trusting you as you're familiar with this)? I have naturally auburn hair and very fair skin, but smoldering eyes work well for me and turn the hazel into a shade of green. Please note my comment about a plastic surgeon telling my mom to use Cocoa Butter (Shea Butter as a second choice) for dry, post-infection skin. Also need your advice: "Whiskers" is supposed to be lovely for any woman and I think it looks great--have you tried it? Thanks and God Bless, Gigi (You had better be carrying alcohol wipes and Neosporin-to-Go with you at all times or you have detention!)
