About Me
I live in a small town. And I mean a small town. Closest Walmart is 230 miles away. The closest Sephora is about 500. So the planet has to suffer for this. I order online a lot. And I've been told that all those cardboard boxes are not good for the environment! So my current project is trying to live greener and make up for all those darn boxes. I'm a real mix of high end/low end products. But I love trying either one! I actually prefer my tools to be higher end like brushes and stuff, but I'm really interested in looking into the Sonia Kashuk line. Let's see. My favorite overall products are blush, mascara, perfume and probably foundation. I can't pick a favorite!

I can't live without this product...

Yes I know, I know. This stuff has been publicized so much. It's been on QVC. It's been shoved under your nose in every Bare Escentuals counter you go to. The saleslady claiming "This stuff changed my life!" It's been used for propoganda, yellow journalism... Consequently, it's nothing extraordinary when you see someone using it now days. But still, as a saleslady once told me, it changed my life. Or at least the way I wear foundation. Back in the days I used to dig out my little triangle sponge and open my bottle of Covergirl foundation and smear it unceremoniously all over my poor, delicate, acne-covered face. By 11:00 I had an orange mask worthy of Paris Hilton. Those days are over. I'm a bareMinerals girl now. Sure it's messy. And yes it doesn't give that much coverage, but that's what cover-up is for right? If you use the right brushes it gives you this nice airbrushed look (no orange to be spotted!) And it really did help my acne. Not significantally, but my face felt healthier. Another plus is if you have dry skin. I think this is one of the best things out there for that.
I like "bareMinerals foundation" (Others who like it too...none yet)

I wouldn't die, but I would suffer greatly without this product...

KenzoAmour Indian Holi

Ah I'm already suffering greatly as this is only a limited edition! Next pay check I'm ordering another one of these babies. And I've only had this for a week! I've never been to India so it doesn't remind me of a festival of colors, but I can kind of imagine it! The incense smell lingering in the air.... the cooking rice nearby... the flower blossoms in bloom.... Anyway I love love love this perfume. Better than all the other Kenzo's. It has a really nice, comforting smell. I think the strongest smells are the incense and the "rice cooking". The only con I've had so far is the staying power. But I think the smell and the pretty bottle makes up for that! Plus it's been boyfriend, dad, friends and mom-approved! What could be better than that?

Without this product, I'd have to start drinking at noon ;-) ...

GoSmile Rinse

It seems like kind of a weird must-have product, but I really like this! It's actually the only product of the GoSmile line I've tried so far and with the great results of this product I'm interested in trying some more. The first time I used it my mouth felt so fresh and clean and my impulse was to kiss someone! Seriously! It really cleans your mouth. And the longer I used it, the more I noticed my breath didn't smell as bad and my mouth wasn't as dry. My teeth did look a little whiter than usual, but not significantally. I would use a different whitening product than just relying on this one. The kicker for this product is the price. It's $25 and it goes fast. :(

My secret beauty recipe and best makeup tips...

Long lashes: Before even curling your eyelashes put a coat of mascara on the front and the back (behind your lashes). Let it dry then curl them. People have said this makes your eyelashes brittle so try it at your own risk.

How long does it really take me to get ready? What's my beauty routine?

I think I'm a descendant of the sloth family because I'm really slow! It takes me about an hour and a half.

While Meg's mom used to give her at-home perms, my most mortifying makeup moment is...

Well... I'm a white girl. A really really white girl. And one time my friend did cornrows on me. I walked around proudly, but now that I think about it. It was really white trash of me.

My celebrity doppelganger (or so I'm told sometimes) is...

I've been told I look like Julia Stiles because of our similar round faces. (Thanks a lot.)

  • champ3377 says, Thanks much for your sweet comment. Hey, life is not fair--you're 16 and write like you do (as in "I'm a descendant of the sloth family?"). Why can't I have students who think and write like you? And I couldn't agree more--I love mineral foundation. It took me awhile to get used to the routine, but the glowing results are worth it. How did you get so smart so young? Much appreciated and God Bless, Gigi
