About Me
I'm a 38yr. mother of two, both boys(10yrs apart 3&14)My friends say I'm ass backwards, as I started to party in my older yrs. (just dancing and a few drinks on certain Fri. nights)Its a great way to relax from being mom 24/7.Married 17yrs. been together since I was 17, and still madly in love! I love telling friends about great products and what not to buy, so this site rocks!!!!
I am also the make up/hair care grue of my friends and family, they ask 'cause I've tried almost every product on the market (at least that's what my friends say)My Husband calls me Shoppers Drug Mart! I just love to let my friends know about products that actually work, and what not to waste their money on.(I've even been known the call my best friend Tray late at night if a product exceed es may expectations and actually does what it says it will do. I just get that excited, and then will proceed to call everyone else to let them know (Tray uses me as a Waite and see if it works guneapig, if I say I loved it she's all over it).

I can't live without this product... | If you have curly hair this is a must have! It keeps your curls perfect, not dry and frizzy, and it has what I like to call a slickery feeling to it so you can manage you hair better while its wet, while you are putting in all the other hundred products you still need.
I like "Beyond the Zone" (Others who like it too...none yet) Leave a comment or review | No reviews or comments |
I wouldn't die, but I would suffer greatly without this product... Sally Hansen | This is the best lip gloss ever! Cheap as anything under$10. I love the clear, but it comes in lots of shades, it makes your lips tingle, and oh so pouty! If you really want pout and tingle try the Extreme one. (I use the clear and add one of my colour glosses for a change every now and then)

Without this product, I'd have to start drinking at noon ;-) ... Smash box | This face primer is better than any foundation can do for you. The great thing is I use it under my foundation, it gives exactly that a primed face, hides imperfections, reduces pore visibility, lines if you have them. I will even use it alone without foundation, as it gives a flawless natural look, and I can't begin to tell you how silky it makes your face feel. Try it, you will not be able to live without it.(drug stores that carry Smash box give out samples if you need to try before you buy)

My secret beauty recipe and best makeup tips... Prep. H, Ya, no kidding, I got it out of some magazine as a models secret but it really works, if you have bags under your eyes from not enough sleep, or bad allergies day it works great, I like to put it on at night while I sleep, make sure you buy the cream, NOT the original formula, too greasy.
Drink lots of water, and keep your teeth white, I get more complements on how white my teeth are, guys seem to find it eye catching.(no excuse with all the whiteners out there Rapid white under $10. 4 tubes one mouth guard worth every penny)How long does it really take me to get ready? What's my beauty routine? Unfortunately if I'm going out, and I mean for the night dancing, it takes me at least 2hrs. I know that seems long but have you seen my hair? Curly locks like mine take time to tame then dry. And then you have the hole what am I going to wear game. (20 min. if I throw it in a pony if I'm only shopping)While Meg's mom used to give her at-home perms, my most mortifying makeup moment is... My Mother trying to fix may hair when I was a teen, my hair was only wavy and she had it cut shoulder length, God I looked like I was 19. This would not due for my Dad, so they had it cut off and permed (very short)I looked like my brother!!!! Too bad they just didn't perm it long, that's where it was heading any way, and it needed the length to look good.My celebrity doppelganger (or so I'm told sometimes) is... Valerie Bertinelli (in her younger years)Not really, but my Mom seems to think so.

charchar44 says, Hey Mikki, Yeah you know what I use for my CURLS? CURLS! That's the name of the product. I've never heard of Beyond the Zone..that curly hair product you have in your top 3 list! I'm gonna check it out online. Take care, :) CHarchar44
katievon25 says, Mikki, I don't know how much I can offer you, but I'll tell you a little about what my skin is like and what I use. I had relatively few break outs all through my teen years, and I've always had dry skin, especially on my cheeks (they get tight). Then at 25, I had a a weird onset of acne, just on my chin, but it was small and mostly just bumps, never really pimples. So my dad put me on Retin-A, which wreaked havoc with my already dry skin, but worked wonders with the acne, so it was worth it! I had flaking, peeling, redness. Took me about two years to get it under control (despite only using the Retin-A for 6 months or so), so I've just recently gone back to using normal stuff. Here's what I use: Morning: I wash with Clean and Clear Morning burst scrub, which is a gentle exfoliator with a scent I love! I dropped the toner (it was making me too dry), but my dad recommended using plain witch hazel when I was breaking out, and it was great (and cheap!), The Body Shop's Vitamin E Moisture Serum (I LOVE the Vit E line for dry skin - but I'm sure their other stuff is good since you're oily), then I use the Neutrogena. For eye cream, I just use a good moisturizer, as my makeup has SPF in it, and protects my eyes. Evening: I just started using Philosophy's Makeup Optional Set for Congested Skin 2 weeks ago, and already it is making a HUGE difference. My breakouts (2-3 pimples a week) have been reduced to nothing, even in stressful and hormonal times, and my pores look MUCH better already. It includes a gentle cream cleanser, vitamin serum, moisturizer with salicylic acid, and an eye and around the lip cream. I highly recommend it - it's a touch expensive, but it was worth every penny. It comes with a sample microdermabrasion set that is the first one I've EVER liked (it doesn't fry/sand your skin off). Because I am more dry, I use The Body Shop's Vit E Night Moisture Cream after all that has dried/set in, if I feel too tight and need some extra. Whew! That sounds like a lot, but it doesn't seem that way when I'm doing it. I just tried to be thorough in my explanations. I'm not great with eye cream recommendations, because I never can find one I love. I'm very smiley-eyed, so I have wrinkles even now at 28, but nothing I try really does much for them...and I'm not going to quit smiling! Best thing I've found is (!!!) Botox... Katie
desertdoll says, Linden leaves had no smell to me. I like coconut and tropical scents too, especially in the summer. I like Nars Body glow, which has shimmer. But they also make a version with no shimmer. I also like Bobbi Brown Beach. She makes that scent in everything, an oil, a perfume, a lotion. The oil is great. Those are both pretty expensive though. 2 lower cost options are Nivea Essentially Enriched (a kind of creamy oil) which smells great and is cheap and at drugstores and Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti oil, a gardenia scented oil. They have a website. Hope that helps! ~DDoll
desertdoll says, Hi Mikki, Which product did you mean that I did not reccomend? Let me know and I'm sure I can tell you what I prefer instead. Thanks! DDoll
