| My Beauty Secret: |
Lots of water! I try to drink a lot during the day to keep hydrated. Plus, if my skin is hydrated, then I don't have to use a lot of lotions and night and my skin can breathe a bit. That keeps my skin blemish-free. I am still looking for a good eye cream though, I have a Clinique one but I don't wake up as dark-circle free as I'd like to! |
| My Routine: |
Showering is the easy part, it's drying my VERY thick wavy hair that gets me! If I decide to go curly (any drop of moisture in the air and that decision is made for me!) it takes about 10 minutes for hair, another 5-10 for makeup and 5-10 for clothes/accessories. But, if I go straight (dry air? not a curl in sight) it takes about 25 minutes to dry. My makeup is simple, a little under eye concealer, bronzer, eye shadow, a quick eyelash curl, mascara, gloss and I'm ready to go. |
| My Horror Story: |
I have super thick hair so when it was essential to have high sweeping bangs, I would use so much hairspray that by the end of the day, I could pick out the flakes! Awful. You couldn't PAY me to go back to 7th grade. |

none that I know of.... |
John Freida Frizz-Ease Curl Spray
I have been using this for years, and it's the only spray that keeps my wavy hair from growing out of control in the humidity. I tend to use a lot, since I have really thick hair, so I end up buying it pretty frequently. I wish that I could use less and have the same effect. But, it's a good product so I'll pay for it. It one of the only sprays I've found that doesn't leave my hair really sticky. If it's really hot out, I can get away with only using this and letting it air dry, which is amazing considering how thick my hair is. And, it smells good too, a very light smell so I barely notice it. I don't like anything that smells too overpowering.
Jergens Skin Firming Lotion
Lotions are the one thing I really hate spending money on. Not sure why, I just do. I always go with a cheap drugstore brand and then end up feeling gross and not using it. Then my skin gets dry and I get annoyed so I try another stupid drugstore brand. It's a vicious cycle. I had a coupon for Jergens (yay for coupons! I would never try anything new if it were not for coupons) so I decided to try this. It was back in March, and I was going to Florida in a month and still had some baby weight sticking around, making my normally smooth legs, a whole new world of bumpy. Gross! So I tried this. It promises to smooth you out in 4-6 weeks with consistent use. Of course, my trip was in 3 weeks, but maybe I could use it twice a day?? (I doubt it works like that)...
Boogie Wipes
OK, this isn't really for me, but I do benefit greatly from it. These wipes are perfect for delicate skin around the nose and mouth (and even eyes) when your child has a cold. I haven't tried them on myself just yet because I've been lucky enough to be pretty healthy but my son will someday thank me for using these on him. They are moist wipes that are soaked in saline and other skin healing elements. They wipe away boogies and eye crusties without stripping natural oils off your skin. They soothe the redness, and cause no irritation. Plus, they smell great! My son has already weathered a few colds with no tell-tale red and raw skin around his nose thanks to these great wipes!
