About Me:

First redemption received on 23 Mar:
1. Alofe Skin Toner
Ingredients (on bottle): Aqua, propylene glycol, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, aloe ferox leaf extract, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) extract, sorbitol, menthyl lactate, allantoin, lactic acid, alcohol denat., methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone.

Review: This comes in a spray bottle which is convenient for use. I find the effect comparable to my previous toner which fits my needs - does not irritate my skin, feels soothing when applied.

Would I purchase?: Maybe. It claims to be a "gentle, alcohol-free toner", but there is denatured alcohol listed as one of the ingredients. I usually don't scruntize ingredients but the information is contradictory and I would have to check that out further before deciding if this is worth a purchase.

Second redemption received on 19 May:
1. LORAC Baked Matte Satin Eye Shadow - Drama (charcoal)
Semi-Review: I have been applying eyeshadow as a one-colour wash. This shade is darker than what I usually wear and I am still trying to make this work for me.

2. Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner - Midnight Cowboy
Review: I can draw a fine line with this although several applications are required for "lining". It looks to be mainly gold glitter to me, so I prefer to layer this with an eyeliner to tone it down.

Would I repurchase?: Maybe. Midnight Cowboy did not really work for me but I may consider other colours.

3. Tarte EmphasEYES High Definition Eye Pencil - Black
Review: I have been using the eye pencil in lieu of my gel liner or eyeliner shadow. I usually work with eyeliner brushes and I find some difficulty in getting a straight smooth line with the eye pencil.

Would I purchase?: No. I am used to working with brushes and this product does not wow me.

Third redemption received on 30 Jun:
1. China Glaze Bad Landing
Semi-Review: This nail polish is a brighter red when compared to the shades I normally use.

Would I repurchase? Yes, but in other colours.

2. Napolean Protégé Lip Gloss
Semi-Review: Although the colour is pretty, there is a mintly flavour which I dislike in general.

Would I repurchase?: No. I generally do not like minty lip gloss.

3. Barielle Total Foot Care Cream
Review: I have been using this almost daily. I like that it soaks in relatively fast and helps keep my feet in good condition.

Would I repurchase?: Yes.

Fourth redemption (all winners!) received on 9 Feb:
1. Urban Decay Skyscraper Mascara
Review: It's perfect. The brush helps to build up the mascara without clumping. I don't usually spend on mascara as I have to change it every 3 months but this will be worth it.

Would I repurchase?: Yes.

2. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Stray Dog
Review: This is a shimmery brown taupe (very little shimmer which just brightens without overwhelming) and really works well as an eyeliner or smudged out as an eyeshadow. The eye pencil is easy to use and just glides and deposits the right amount of colour.

Would I repurchase?: Yes. This is part of the 15th Anniversary collection set and I think the set is worth it.

3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on shadow pencil in Narc
Review: This is a mossy green shadow which glides on and is easy to apply.

Would I repurchase?: Yes, in other shades.

4. Urban Decay Urban Glow Cream Highlight in Wicked
Review: This adds a radiant pinky shimmer highlight to cheekbones. The product is good, but I needed a couple of tries to get just the right amount of shimmer.

Would I repurchase?: Yes.

5. LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss in 3D
Review: This is a Rose Bronze with 3D Glitter and it appears more bronzy (than rosey) on my lips. There is a faint and pleasant fruity/berry scent when I first opened the gloss. I use this over my tinted lip balm. It feels too drying to use on its own.
I would prefer the product to be in smaller tubes (and correspondingly priced lower) so that I can purchase more colours since the recommended shelf-life after opening is 6 months.

Woud I repurchase? Yes, in other shades.

Fourth Redemption received on 6 May:

1. Tarte Provocateur Amazonian Clay Shimmering Powder in Rose (Peachy Pink Sheen)
*upcoming review*

2. LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss in Cliche
Review: This is pink with blue 3D pearl and I like layering it over my lipbalm for a sheer pink gloss. I have a more detailed review above for LORAC 3-D Lip Gloss.

Woud I repurchase? Yes.

3. Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Forcefield
Review: This tinted moisturizer is in a medium dark shade. I was surprised to see the shade when I opened the tube as I stated in my profile that I was fair. That said, I am still glad that I had the chance to test this out. I mixed this with my current moisturizer for application. The combined mixture feels a bit more greasy than my usual moisturizer. I will be passing on this tube to someone else with drier and darker skin.

Would I repurchase? No. I applied this on my face without mixing to see if I like this enough to try out another shade but found the texture a bit too thick for me.

4. Sheer Cover Foundation in Nude 1.5g (light cooler pink foundation)
Comment: I may not be trying this as my face itched when I sampled the product in the past.

Fifth Redemption received on 29 Jun:
1. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Eden
Review: This does help my eyeshadow stay on longer.

Would I repurchase? Yes. I want to try out other variants of the primer.

2. Liptini Lip Soda Plumping Lipstick - Ginger Ale
Review: This is a wearable lip colour. I need to use a lip balm under this as with most lip colour products.

Would I repurchase? Maybe. I am not too keen on lipsticks so I will use this for a while more before deciding.

3. The Balm Batter Up Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow - Base Hit Kit (soft golden glow)
*upcoming review*

4. Tarte gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara
*upcoming review*

5. Giovanni Exfoliating Cool Mint Lemonade Body Bar
Review: This is a refreshing scent. The bar is huge so what works for me is to cut it half before use.

Would I repurchase? Yes, but most likely I will try other scents. Vitacost has a good price for Giovanni's products.

Sixth Redemption received on 7 Sep:
1. Urban Decay Naked Palette
Review: Excellent palette with lots of neutral shades that are suitable for office wear. I'm gradually switching from loose to pressed eye shadows and I really like this palette.

Would I repurchase?: Yes.

2. Tarte for True Blood Limited-Edition Natural Cheek Stain
*upcoming review*

3. Heal My Sole Yuzu Lotion
Review: This lotion smells great. It's a bit greasy when applied but is absorbed after a while.

Would I repurchase? Maybe. I don't really like the initial feel so I'll finish up this before deciding.

Seventh redemption received on 4Nov:
1. Urban Decay Stalker Eyeshadow
Mini review: This is a purple which leans towards being more red than blue. Generally, such eyeshadow colour do not work for me.

2. Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Bodyguard
Review: See above review for Forcefield. Bodyguard is still too dark for me and I'll be passing this tube to someone else.

3. Napoleon Perdis Eye Pencil - Gold Standard
Mini review: This is a pretty gold. One con is that it requires sharpening and I now prefer automatic pencils.

4. Napoleon Perdis Luminous Lip Veil - Sugar Plum
Review: This has a light fruity scent and is very slightly tingly on my lips. The colour looks natural on my lips.

Would I repurchase? Yes.

Eighth redemption received on 15Dec *upcoming review*:
1. Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush - Amused (bright pink)
2. Tarte LipSurgence™ lip tint - Joy (peach)
3. Tarte smolderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof eye liner - Navy (blue)
4. Napoleon Perdis Luminous Lip Veil - Sugar Plum

My Beauty Secret:

This is not exactly a secret but just a story to share.

I switched my entire skincare and cosmetics products to mainly items manufactured in US and EU after experiencing a bad skin reaction when I tried a new product that was manufactured elsewhere. My doctor was the one that highlighted the product could be a possible cause. Apparently the shampoo suds were enough to cause a reaction on my legs. I would never have guessed that the sensitivity was due to a wash-off product for another area!

I think the perceived stricter regulations give me a peace of mind and so far it has been good after the switch.

My Routine:

I use the following products (items in brackets are product names) in my daily morning routine:
Cleanser
Toner (Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner)
Serum (Silk Naturals Super Serum)
Moisturiser (La Roche Posay Toleriane Fluide Soothing Protective Emulsion)
Sunscreen (Avene Very High Protection Emulsion SPF 50+)
Primer/Foundation (contains mica, pearl powder, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, iron oxides)
Eyeshadow
Blush
Lipgloss
Finishing Powder (Everydayminerals Natural Reflections Light)
Spray (Avene Thermal Spring Spray)

It seems like many products, but it only takes me a few minutes to apply since I am used to the routine now. I am quite satisfied with my current products but am looking for a good eyeshadow primer for my eyeshadows. I have TFSI now and am looking to try UDPP to compare.

I am also switching my makeup to pressed products and I find them easier to work with.
