A collection of complex issues and candy wrapped lovingly in curves and lost somewhere between cog and cloud. I have two darling bubbies, and a sweetheart who doubles as my bestie. I have a passion for web design and development, an interest in anything creative, and adore gaslamp fantasy. |

| My Beauty Secret: |
Insanity. There's nothing quite like a healthy injection of insanity into your day to get back on par with the imagination of childhood, the random exuberance of youth, and to remind you how truly beautiful and blessed life is in even the very dimmest of times. Not to mention that it gives you an excellent excuse to do something retarded just for the lulz. Because, after all, it's all about the lulz. |
| My Routine: |
My morning routine, if I've slept, begins with an anything but seductive crawl out of bed followed swiftly by walking into the door while attempting to open it. I'll cleanse and tone, follow with a serum, and apply a hydrating moisturiser. Being only mildly awake at this point I apply a getting dressed in the dark style which some how manages to look rather trendy, with my own blend of bohemian native steampunk style, and then head for the kitchen to throw something on for the kids. After a coffee and emails I'll dart back to the bathroom for a full face of war paint. In the evening I use the oil cleansing method, toner, serum, and an anti-ageing moisturiser. Twice a week I follow the oil with a scrub before toning. Every Sunday I like to take a bit of me time. I'll apply a face mask, a conditioning treatment for my hair, and give myself a mini mani and do a new set of nail art for the week. Skincare wise I think I'm fairly blessed that even though I have extremely oily skin I don't suffer from the dreaded pimple problems. As I approach 30 I've been trying out new products in an attempt to take better care of my skin before it starts showing signs of ageing. I really like serums, I find it's an excellent way of adding to my skin care routine without unbalancing my oil issues or weighing down my skin. When it comes to makeup I'm a winter, which works well for me as I like to rock a lot of neutral smoky looks and a bold lippie. I also like to work with a lot of dark greens, blood reds, and deep plums. I don't use bronzer, as I happen to like being pale, but I love luminizing products. I love lip products, and tend to put more effort into my full body natural pout rather than making my dark brown (almost black) eyes the focus. I have thick full brows and lashes, so I tend to use a lengthening mascara to separate and define my lashes and the left over product to give hold to my brows. I always line my waterline, though I do like a nice winged liner look as well, and also like to use different coloured pencils in my lower lash line or as a base. I like to collect loose eyeshadow samples from indie cosmetics companies, I keep them in pretty decorated boxes, similar to the old recipe boxes with cards for notes on each one, but I also have a cork board with lattice ribbon to display some of my favourites. As for hair, I'm a no-poo gal. I COwash at least twice a week (with a conditioning treatment on Sundays), follow with a leave in conditioner, and a curl mouse or gel to set my curls. I plop my hair into a shirt and tie it so my hair sits close to my head in a kind of concertina way to help my hair dry and keep it out of my way while I get dressed and such, plus it helps to enhance my curls. I do that for about 10min or so, and then allow them to air dry. Once dry, I'll scrunch a little product through my hair to help further enhance my curls and give shine before shaking my curls out with a mini scalp massage. Second day curls, I refresh my hair with a little spray on conditioner and shake out my curls out again. Third day, I refresh again with spray on conditioner, but tend to wear my curls up. Contrary to what people may think, my hair doesn't get greasy or such from not washing it daily, actually washing it daily did that to me. |
Linden Leaves "In Love Again" Body Oil
A sensual blend of neroli, vanilla and sandalwood embraces you in folds of nourishing splendor. Oh yes, if there was ever a product I truly loved, a product that I absolutely always love to receive as a gift regardless of how many bottles of the stuff I already have and will literally throw a tantrum about if anyone in my house makes the mistake of touching any of those bottles, then this is most certainly it.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
With a dozen full size shadows, a mini primer potion, and a duel end pencil (or, in the case of the Naked 2.0 edition, a brush) this is not simply a gorgeously packaged palette, but one which is well worth the price tag. A fantastic collection of neutral colours which can easily be used to create subtle 'you only better' looks through to a deep sultry smoky eye.
From within bottles, jars, compacts and tubes.*
