Everyday Minerals- LOVE
Everyday Minerals! As I write this, they have recently updated their site with all new features and kits. The original draw was their wonderful Free Sample Kit and well-priced makeup. That kit is gone now and so it may start to seem like less of a deal. They have replaced them with non-customizable Try Me Kits. However, as for the quality of the product: LOVE IT! They have several base shades in four finishes so you can definitely find something that works for you. Like me you may find out you are in a shade family you had never considered before!
Nuva Ring and Retin-A
If it weren't for Nuva Ring and Retin-A, I would still be suffering from cystic acne and breakouts. Nuva Ring is a birth control plastic ring-insert that you use for three weeks, then discard. Other birth control methods did nothing for my skin despite their claims. I think part of the reason was because the Nuva Ring delivers a constant hormone dose rather than spiking each day. Coupled with Retin-A (I no longer use the name brand, I use a generic bought in Mexico) my skin is finally manageable again. I had perfect skin in high school and then started getting acne in my early twenties. Add in a medical thing later and I was not doing well.So what changed?
md skincare: Powerful Sun Protection SPF 30
Any oil-free sunscreen should do, as long as you wear it faithfully! Currently I am using md skincare Powerful Sun Protection SPF 30. I found it on Amazon for less than half the retail price (5 oz). There is a discontinued 1.7 oz size that you can still find on other sites. I really love that it is oil-free and lightweight. It can be somewhat greasy feeling sometimes but that's when I haven't let it dry long enough. For those time, blot with a tissue until it stops feeling that way. Then apply makeup as normal.
