| About Me: |
I write the weekly 'Green Chi Tuesday" columns here at megsmakeup.com focusing on organic and natural beauty products. I'm single, love in Los Angeles with a neurotic cat and a wiener dog and work for an interior designer. Besides my make-up obsession, I also love ice hockey (go Flyers!), teen television shows, vegetarian cooking and I am an avid reader. I actually first meet Meg on a balcony at a dinner party where we lamented the lack of readers we knew. A month later, we launched our infamous Hollywood Book Club. Our motto 'Where bellinis and books meet". Somehow our drinking book club morphed into the megsmakeup distribution meetings where we still drink lots of wine, talk books (amongst many other subjects) and feed our make-up addictions! |

| My Beauty Secret: |
This one is fairly well known but I love to add just a drop of moisturizer to my foundation. It helps give an even and smooth application and sinks into the skin much better. Also, if you love the look of liquid eyeliner but have a shaky hand I found that a flat brush and wet shadow does the trick. Use a damp flat brush and run it over the shadow, then apply the flat side to the lid ' apply a tiny bit with an upside swoop just past the end to open up the eye. The color is just as intense and it is a lot easier to apply that thin, dramatic line. |
| My Routine: |
About two hours from shower to hairdrying, dressing and make-up application. Could take less if I'm in a hurry but I like to lounge about with a glass of wine as I prepare! |
| My Horror Story: |
Hmm, I've also had my share of frightening home perms. I'll have to go with my 1986 new-wave mullet! We're talking Howard Jones, spiky on top, long bangs in your face and shaved sides mullet. I believed it to be the height of cool at the time! Oh yea, it was also died fire-engine red! |
| My Celebrity Look-a-like: |
The two top ones have been Winnie Cooper of the Wonder Years and Shannen Doherty of 90210. In the last year I've been told Lindsey Lohan but those people must have been seriously drunk! |
Burts Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
I use this lip balm all day, everyday. I have one stashed everywhere - in my desk drawer at work, next to my computer at home, on the living room table, foyer table and there's at least one in all of my bags, coat jackets, etc. I'm proud to be a balm junkie and this one is my fix - soothing, cooling, and long lasting with a hint of mint.
CAT COSMETICS OPEN SESAMEOW!
When I received this set I thought it would be the perfect travel brush set. However, I find myself reaching for one of these brushes everyday (bypassing the collection of expensive brushes I already had) The short length of them makes for flawless application and there are so many options that you always have the perfect brush for whatever you need. They all store neatly away in the compact and sleek case ' genius!!
DDF Blemish Foaming Face Cleanser
I have tried all the options for adult acne -antibiotics, scrubs, peels, facials, cortisone injections and costly dermatologist visits. I have to say this is the one cleanser that really seems to keep pimples in check. I use this religiously and my skin is vastly improved. You know how to know if a beauty product really works? It is frequently sold at out at Sephora stores and on back-order online. I buy in bulk, 4 or 5 at a time so I am never without it.
