Urban Decay Naked Palette?

  • Giving Good Face! Here's The Skinny!

Just wondering if any of you ladies have the UD Naked palette and if so, what you think of it?  I love UD and have some smaller palettes but the $48 price tag is a little steep for me to justify when I have student loans to pay and plenty of eyeshadows in my drawer... so any input as to whether this would be worth the splurge would be greatly appreciated :)  Thanks!

Hi there!  The Naked palette is my "go-to" palette.  I love it and think it is absolutely worth the money.  You can create so many looks with this palette, simple or complex.  If I were you, I would go for it and maybe skip the Starbucks for 2 weeks or something like that, know what I mean? :) I hope that helps you out!  http://beautymark3d.blogspot.com/

Me personally, I would pass.  For me it wasn't a splurge, as I have two of them, one brand new still in the box I got as a gift.  Honestly I dont use it, maybe took it out three times and that was probably b/c I felt pressure to use it since everyone was hunting it down.  its pretty boring and if you have other shadows and bills, idk but imo its not all that.

i have one and I love it, especially since I have blue eyes. I'd recommend it to anyone because browns will look god regardless of skin tone and eye color. with that one palette you can create "barely there" looks, day looks, and night looks. the price really isn't that bad if you think about it. you get 12 full sized shadows that normally run $17 dollars each, a $26 brush, and a travel sized PP. so that basically translates to a $236 value for $48.the only down fall I think is the PP, I think it should have come with either sin or greed. I'm not a fan of the original, it works great, but I prefer the colored versions. And since so much of their stuff comes with travel sized orignial PP, i have four that have never been used, and one that i've used a handful of times.

I actually haven't tried this palette, but I do know that Silk Naturals has a clone of it that's more budget-friendly at $36, and it has good reviews.http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/naked-palette-clone-p-1200.html

I like the looks of the UD Naked palette!  Pressed shadows are so convenient (even though I do prefer loose minerals), and the colors look like they will flatter anyone.

I've been debating this too, can't decide if it's really worth it or not. Wonder what Meg thinks about it?

I went ahead and ordered it tonight on UrbanDecay.com.  I have been reading reviews of it online and watching youtube videos for a few days now debating whether to buy, and I haven't read 1 bad review!  Everyone and their mom/sister/cousin/friend seems to love this palette!  I also added the Show Pony palette to my order for only an additional $10 so I could get the free shipping at $50.  Can't wait for it them to come!  I have blue eyes and love playing them up with browns, so this should be perfect for me and a good palette to use for work days.  I have shades similar to this in mineral shadows, and although I love minerals it will be really nice to have all the shades pressed, in one palette, and side by side.  Plus I could use a good shadow brush! I'm actually happier to get the one with the brush since I don't use liners often.  The Show Pony palette looks really fun since it has the deep green, purple, and blue colors and those will be good for fun looks when I go out.  Ahhh, Meg, you turned me into an Urban Decay addict... and I <3 you for it :)

It's quite worth it.  In person, it's quite unassuming...you're like, really?  This is it?  I love it though.  So easy to use--the packaging's great.  It really has everything you need for quick looks up to more dramatic ones.  Plus, there are a lot of unique colors to it, so you don't get the notorious UD repeat situation! :D

I'm torn on the Naked palette.  I don't know if I would use it or if the colors would look good with my brown eyes/brown hair/super pale skin.  But I bet if I swatched it I would love it.  @nbomski - I LOVE the show pony/ preen palette.  It's my favorite UD purchase.

Eh, I think it's pretty hyped up more than total awesomeness. If you need nudes with shimmer go for it, otherwise wait til the next thing.

Got this in the mail on Friday, I adore it :)  The shades are all gorgeous and glide on almost like a cream shadow.  They are easily blendable and the shades all compliment each other nicely.  My two faves so far are Naked and Buck, they are matte shades and perfect for a daytime look.  The brush is good quality and good for blending.  I also love the Show Pony palette, I went to see Diplo in Chicago on Friday night and did a bright purple eye with blue on the outer corners.  It was a very fun look and even my boyfriend liked it.  With the primer the shadow lasted all night, even though I was sweaty and dancing!  I am going to be posting reviews of my UD palettes on my blog, will update when I do.

Lexx13, if you wanted I could send you one to Canada if you cover cost/shipping.  They have it in stock at the Ulta near me right now (of course they got it in stock the week after I ordered it online!!).  I live in WI so the shipping price is not too terrible from here - for most things it's just a few dollars more than in the states.  You can guestbook me if you're interested and we can discuss further :)

I so want to get this but I keep talking myself out of it because I have so many eyeshadows including more than one Urban Decay sets.  I think the last one I bought was over $60 YIKES!  And now they have Naked2!  UGH!  I really want them.  :)

I really wanted the Naked2 Palette! I always signed up to get email notifications when UD had them back in stock, but every time I get the notification, I always talked myself to not buying it considering how the price is not cheap. Being a student, purchasing makeup was always a second priority. I personally think the Naked2 palette is better if you're more used to a neutral, everyday look. Naked1 seems to have more shimmers, which I thought seemed a bit too much for an everyday use.

Now I have both and I really love them both. I don't use Naked 1 as much though, because Naked 2 has more cool-toned neutrals that work out better for me. They are both fantastic palettes though. I've had Naked 1 over a year now and have only hit the pan on the shade 'Naked'. They are so pigmented that you don't need a lot to make beautiful looks! I looked at this as an investment. You get 12 eyeshadows that come out to be less than drug store prices each, they are so pigmented you don't need much, and they last all day with primer so you're not wasting eyeshadow by doing touchups halfway through the day. I really recommend these palettes to anyone :)

I just bought the naked 2 palette tonight...i went for the 2 over the original for the very reason nbomski mentioned, more cool shadows that work better with my skintone.  so far, i'm loving it...i'm having a hard time not playing with it, and it's 11 at night..i really should be washing my face and getting ready for sleep, but the colors are SO gorgeous, i just can't stop. i'm already in love with it and so very happy i decided to treat myself. i'd have to say that between the original naked and the naked 2, there's defintely a perfect palette for everyone out there. i'm also very impressed with the quality of the brush..fantastic for blending, and a double-ended brush included as a "freebie" in a kit like this is ALWAYS a super plus.
