Oil Facial Cleansers
I wanted to start a thread on this particular topic and hear what others have to say about oil and balm facial cleansers. I have used a few throughout the years and have had decent luck battling dryness, softening my complexion, and clearing breakouts and irritation. I have used LUSH ultrabland, which I know is a huge favorite for a lot of people, but it has always underwhelmed me. I do keep some on hand for makeup removal when I need a powerhouse product for it, but I always follow up with a regular lotion cleanser afterwards because I feel like I just can't get it all off. I much prefer the now discontinued babyface cleansing bar by LUSH, a lovely solid facial cleansing bar with sweet orange oil and cocoa butter. I stocked up when I knew they were discontinuing it, so I still have a few on hand. Recently, though, I picked up Burt's Bees orange essence cleanser on a whim, and I have to admit that I'm loving it so far. It smells amazing, rinses easily enough (not too much scrubbing required with a wet face cloth), and my skin hasn't had a reaction to the high citrus oil content. This may very well rival my love of Ole Henriksen apricot cleansing lotion, which so far has been my holy grail of daily cleansers. I'm alternating the two right now, using the orange essence at night for the softening and deep cleaning after a day of wearing makeup. Anyone else use oil cleansers and love them? I wanna hear about them!
