I can't live without this product...

I use baking soda for everything...Hair, skin, nails, teeth... Not to mention it will clean most everything in your house. I buy six boxes at a time.
I like "Arm and Hammer baking soda" (Others who like it too...champ3377 )

I wouldn't die, but I would suffer greatly without this product...

Covergirl nail polish

My favorite shade is Burgandeep...It's dark, dark red/brown/purple/black...I love it all year round. Mostly on my toes.
I like "Covergirl nail polish" (Others who like it too...none yet)

Without this product, I'd have to start drinking at noon ;-) ...

Maybelline's Matte Mousse Line

Made right here in Arkansas... Maybelline has to be my favorite of the drugstore brand cosmetics. I love this entire line of products...I use the foundation, blush, and bronzer...

My secret beauty recipe and best makeup tips...

Never grow up!! Paint your fingernails blue, wear funky clothes, and shed your sking like a snake every chance you get...Oh and dance, sing, paint, and have a special place where you can hang rock posters and display lava lamps, a true "no kids" zone...Try not to use your magnifying mirror for anything other than plucking your eyebrows, that way you don't see the "real deal"..

How long does it really take me to get ready? What's my beauty routine?

Must have at least an hour, and that's no time for wine. Special occasions take two, and plenty of "spirits" whatever my mood may be...

While Meg's mom used to give her at-home perms, my most mortifying makeup moment is...

First, I had a bladder infection one time and was prescribed a Sulfa drug, which clearly states is photosensitive....Do not Go out in the Sun while taking this medication. On the 10th and final day I thought "What the Heck", I'm going to the tanning bed....I broke out in hives from my scalp to my toenails...I looked like I had dipped in molten lava. I was so miserable, I couldn't stand to feel my sheets let alone clothing...I was convinced I would never look the same again, but I recovered, and now list Sulfa as an allergy on all medical documents. Second, I fell asleep in the bathtub with Nair on my face and eyebrows, it took the first six layers of skin off. I had scabs for eyebrows for at least a week...

My celebrity doppelganger (or so I'm told sometimes) is...

None

  • champ3377 says, Already praying--I believe the Lord is especially close to children and hears their pleas, as well as ours. I am just sorry that he is hurting! I hope I become a mother to feel the love you have for Slade, the same love my parents had(have) for us and my sister and brother-in-law do for their children. God Bless, Gigi

  • champ3377 says, Lancome's product is still available, and I'm in love. You can find it in Macy's or department stores or online. It takes a few seconds and is very natural. Again, your baking soda comment is genius--thanks! If you don't phone, you will be SUSPENDED! God Bless, Gigi

If you don't contact me, you and Slade have detention, m'kay? Did you have baking soda on your profile before? I agree all the way! God Bless, Gigi

  • ruthie says, well first of all i am sad to hear that you have had some bad luck! let the good luck roll now! sephora is a makeup store that lets you "play" all day. they have samples of everything out and you could literally stay there for 12 hours and try everything without being bothered. i don't know how the setup is with the ones at jc penney. i don't know if you have to have an appt for a makeover or what? i would just wear what you are wearing now as far as foundation goes.you are going to look awesome. i don't think they will notice the sweaters being the same if they are different colors. i think the dark jeans will look great too-can't go wrong with those. you will have to keep us posted on the whole reunion! don't drive yourself crazy this week-carol b

  • ruthie says, hi! i shave every couple of days. i use a regular razor and shaving cream! just go slow and look in the mirror while you do it so you don't knick yourself. i have sensitive skin and have never had a problem. you could do a "test drive" early just to see if you have a problem. i think i look a lot better without the peach fuzz. i read that you are worried about going to your reunion. you don't have ANYTHING to be worried about. you really are a beautiful girl. i read your response about bare minerals. when i first tried it i just couldn't get used to it. i saw a girl with unbelieveable skin and i asked her what do you use? she said bare minerals. it looked like she had a light coming out from her skin. she said go home and try it for 3 days- you have to get used to it and really buff it in your skin. start out with a little and add if you need the coverage. now i can't live without it. one day i wore mac coverfix to work-no one said a word about my skin. the next day i wore bare minerals and i got all these compliments and i thought well that was interesting! have fun at the reunion and try not to let anyone walk in on you when you have your face covered in shaving cream! carol b

  • champ3377 says, I'm laughing like crazy--I was going to direct you to minerals, but they do NOT work for all! Unfortunately, gorgeous, only your amazing profile picture showed up, but we're having computer problems. Some questions: Do you prefer a liquid, powder, or creme-to-powder product? That would help me. For many years, I only used Dior's liquid matte foundation in a gentle rose hue and forgot it one day (duh!). I ran into the drugstore and bought Olay's "All Day Radiance" powder version and expected nothing--it was a miracle! People came to me non-stop and said, "You are luminous." Unfortunately, they quit producing it. Now I'm hooked on powder, as it's a breeze to apply and can be touched up if necessary. For discoloration, try a concealer under foundation (once again, do you use liquid or solid?). Yellow and green bases disguise uneven skin tones. Mary Kay was one of the first firms to recognize the benefits of yellow long before anyone else did. For a healthy glow, I gently exfoliate beforehand to slough off dead skin cells. Foundaton applies more smoothly. Use a primer if possible to keep makeup in its place during your reunion. I'll think of reasonably-priced ones. I learned in modeling school never to use powder under my eyes as it exaggerates lines, so even if you prefer this form, apply beneath the eyes and over your face and blend so there is no visible line toward your eyes. I have a slew of blotting tissues from Crabtree & Evelyn (they are slightly powdered and tinted) and Clean and Clear's balloon-like version. Control-tops? Laughing again, oh little one. Spanx has a "higher power" version ($24), and it rises above your waist to slenderize even more. This has been touted as wonderful, but I haven't tried them yet. I'm trying to think of other great foundations, but I'll send you BWC's and Hydroxatone if you'd like. I bless the day I wrote to you--who knew I'd enjoy you so much? Please get back to me when you can. I bless the day I wrote to you out of the blue--I never guessed that you would be so sweet and cute.

  • champ3377 says, I look forward to your replies more than you know! I see that you are among the panelists being featured on the opening page, but I can't see your gorgeous face! It's probably on my end--our computer is not long for this earth. If you don't see it, let me know, as the world needs to view your beauty. Where to start? Slade--what a GREAT NAME! I'm currently on an unpaid leave from school because of eye problems and horrific pain. I like the name Zach, but I've had up to five "Zach's" in one class. Slade's a name destine for a future CEO or government official! How cool . . . I can't wait for more photos of this little man! Oh, the headaches. I've never had headaches in my life, and they're not stress-related. I've seen more doctors than I can count. One especially kind one sat down with me and my husband Ron after he examined me last week and took more than an hour to explain what's going on in detail: My vision isn't bad, but there are five problems which make me hyper-sensitive to light and cause the non-stop agony. I won't bore you with the details. Anyway, I have limited periods where I am free of pain, but they do think all is fixable. I'm thinking of moisturizers for you; I have the green tea gel which I love, and I also have Hydroxatone, a high-powered product to lift and firm. It may be too much for you, but I bought it especially for my neck (they sent two jars). Give me some time to think of what else I like and try them out. Okay, someone hand over the Advil and no one will get hurt . . . God Bless, Gigi

  • champ3377 says, Bear with me, please. Do you take vitamins? They play a key role in health as well as beauty. Example: It is safe to consume Vitamin C in large quantities, as the excess is excreted naturally. I tend to bruise easily and have nosebleeds. When I use it, they disappear. It repairs tissue among many other benefits. B Vitamins ar a huge help. They are essentially meant for your nervous system, but your body will actually "pull" nutrients from your skin, hair, and nails every eight hours in order to support the nervous system. The RDA recommended amounts keep you healthy but are not meantfor optimum beauty. I forgot--Rare Minerals offers a "Skin Revival" powder treatment and it's pricey (also on my profile). I never go to bed without some makeup, as my husband still makes my knees week after twenty years (I didn't actually type that! It's a major sin.) You simply buff this on; skin is refreshed, taut, and pores are disguised. It's a genius treatment as well as a cosmetic. I HATE SAGGING SKIN and am not aging gracefully, so I understand your concern. Are you familiar with John Mayer's music? His lyrics to "Stop This Train" are great. He sings, "So scared of getting older--I'm only good at being young." My favorite tune is "Gravity" and the line, "Gravity--stay the hell away from me!" I'll leave you alone, pretty woman!

  • champ3377 says, Glad you wrote back. I checked to see what celebrity you believe you resemble, and Michelle Pfeiffer comes to mind. However, I love the shape of your face and also feel that should be an anchorwoman on the national news! Goodbye, Katie Couric--hello you! I laughed at your son's behavior. How precious! Last year my husband and I went to a huge county fair and I made friends with a plethora of animals (call me St. Francis). They licked me and I was covered in spit, but my husband had a ridiculous time getting me to leave (don't worry--I washed thoroughly in the restroom in between saliva periods). He finally gave up; we stayed for ten hours. What is your son's name? If you told me, please forgive. I'm having horrendous headaches and the pain renders me non-functional at times. Some more skin details: 1) It's good that you recognize that your T-Zone is oily. Blackheads are annoying, but you will most likely age a lot later than others with dry skin. Joey New York has an effective product for blackheads, but I'm a bit weary to find it now. Your younger friends can't quite comprehend age. When I was at Price Waterhouse, I was twenty-three and one of my colleagues was twenty-eight. I used to think, "Poor thing, as she should be wearing orthopedic shoes by now." How stupid was that? If you're being told that you look good, take it seriously. People are slow to compliment and quick to criticize. Do you actually HAVE any wrinkles and need to firm your skin, or would you prefer an anti-firming moisturizer? It's on my profile--"Beauty without Cruelty's" gel. This is a reasonably priced product and I love it. So does my sister. Her son is in California as a marketing manager, and one of his clients is Murad Skin Care. I told her to try it, but he sent samples to my sister and she said, "Thanks, but I'm sure Murad would work far better." She experimented with BWC. After she tried it, she apologized and said it was nearly as good or better. I have an extra bottle if you would like it. A few tips to help? When I was in modeling school, we were told to touch our faces as little as possible, as it drags tissue down. Some people advise lying on your back in bed rather than your side or stomach, as it can accelerate gravity if your face is "pushed" into the pillow. Always apply moisturizer in an upward motion. While putting on eye creams (BWC's is great), use your ring finger as it is your weakest one and will cause the least damage to fragile tissue. Work from the outside in for best results. Do you drink a lot of water? It inflates and plumps cells and makes you glow. I just read two recent articles about this. I down several bottles of water a day as I lose my voice teaching and there's no A/C at school, and I have had more compliments on my complexion than I ever did before. Sorry for the lecture. I am humbled that you trust me. God Bless, Gigi

  • champ3377 says, Moron time for me again! Please describe your skin issues. I don't think there's a moisturizer on the planet I haven't used. One inexpensive but great one which works especially well for me is a gel, a derivative of green tea. I was highly skeptical until I fell in love. Kindly give details and allow me to do something--I have an extra bottle which I'd be more than happy for you to try. If not, I have others. Today's review is on Nivea's Tone Face and Body Creme, but it may be too rich for a daily facial moisturizer. We don't want anything to ruin that gorgeous face of yours . . .

  • champ3377 says, I was waiting to see yet another surgeon today and I kept thinking about you--please forgive me for not responding. I am being asked to see a neurologist to try to determine all of the causes for the headaches which will not cease. Between doctor visits, I see my mom in the rehab and put on a very brave front when I have to help her lift herself up. This is beyond bizarre as she was just perfectly fine, and I can't believe that you've put up with my rambling. So distract me, please, and tell me what's going on with your life! I need you! What an insightful son you have. Of course, I mean no disrespect toward your husband, but my sister is blessed with children (now grown, but they contact her non-stop and one son still lives at home when not at college). She is not feeling well and returned from the rehab visiting my mom at around 8:30 p.m. She has a rare form of arthritis which is exacerbated by stress and she could hardly walk. Her husband is a WONDERFUL man, but he actually asked, "Hey, honey, what's for dinner?" when she walked in the door. I thought she would kill him. She gave him "the look" and he went out to get fast food. At times I grumble that my husband is over-protective, but I am so grateful that he cooks, cleans, irons my clothing, and is at my side 24/7. However, when we become parents (please, Lord, and may it happen while my mom is alive), I think he may pull some disappearing acts as well. I REALLY missed you. I'll write as soon as I can again--the pain makes it tough. Love and God Bless, Gigi (YOU AMAZE ME!)
