I can't live without this product...
I wouldn't die, but I would suffer greatly without this product... Stila eye shadow in Holly Golightly
Without this product, I'd have to start drinking at noon ;-) ... Hourglass Extreme Sheen lip gloss
My secret beauty recipe and best makeup tips... I'll give you my top 3....The best advice I've ever been given was to use a fine tip brush to apply concealer. It's more precise and really does wonders to camflouge whatever it is your trying to hide. So much better than fingers!A close second is once your done squeezing the nasty life out of a pimple, and you're basically on the road to recovery-switch to a dab of vitamin E oil instead of medicine. It will heal faster, be less flaky, and assure you won't get a scar. Lastly, want to know how to always look good in a photo? As long as you keep your eyes open that is! Stick your neck out towards the camera in an ET type pose. Then slightly lower your chin. You'll feel like a real idiot-but I promise, you'll NEVER have a double chin in a photo again. How long does it really take me to get ready? What's my beauty routine? 1.5 hours, and once I'm out of the shower I've got a drink in hand at all times. While Meg's mom used to give her at-home perms, my most mortifying makeup moment is... Bananarama hair and Adam Ant eye shadow stripes, although I still don't really find that all that mortifying! My celebrity doppelganger (or so I'm told sometimes) is... Heather Locklear mostly, but I used to hear Tori Spelling too back in the 90210 days.desertdoll's Messages (190 Total | Leave Me A Message) |

cac says, I miss your reviews!! I don't know why you're not still writing stuff on MM - but I wish you would. PLEASE???
champ3377 says, Yes, she answered! You fascinate me and I've studied your great work--thanks much for answering! Please keep in touch. You seem to be a "guru" of this site. God Bless, Gigi
champ3377 says, The picture of your makeup--"evidence of my sickness"--has me snorting out loud (highly attractive, I realize).
champ3377 says, Hey, desertdoll, I studied some of your DD reviews for guidance, and you did an amazing job. I concur with your choices. You are really loved here and I see why! God Bless, Gigi
kate2004rock says, But would you really want him to? You'd think you married a Queer Eye instead of a rock star. I've got brad using Jack Black hand cream...besides a cleanser and some sunscreen I won't push him too much further.
beautyzilla says, Hey DD? No more FF from you?? What gives? :) Rach
kate2004rock says, I miss you. Where are you?
kate2004rock says, I have tried it. I actually did like the color it turned out and it stayed on well. I also had a customer who had been using it "long term" and it had stained her lips a really pretty color. The bright pink color is much more believable on lips than cheeks for me. I approve! How's the desert, doll? Im gonna go crazy if it doesn't freakin' stop raining in Mississippi
teridactyl says, Being new to the site, I was reading some posts from a while back and came across your posting for DD. I went out in search of the Diamond lip gloss and pick up the rose petals color. I just wasn't brave enough for Honeymoon Red! You go girl! After trying the product I absolutely loved it! I mean lip plumper?! What hole have I been living in? I have a thin upper lip and it actually made me look like I had one! Now I can't live without a "lip plumper"! Thanks so much for the suggestion! I am really looking forward to trying your fave toner. I have been using Proactive for the last 10 years, and have realized that it is time for me to grow up and get some real products. Here's hoping the toner will help with my problem skin!
missleslie says, I love this site!!! Anyhow- What do you know about Jan Marini skin products. I was recently in L.A. visiting my BFF and used her Jan Marini line, including her bioclear cream and C-Esta cream. I swear my skin felt great, but I could have also been because I was relaxed and on vacay. Also- other peeps products always seem better than when you buy them. I had never heard of Jan Marini, but would love some feedback from you and/or the gals!! Thanks!
ruthie says, hi to the doll in the desert! i do think we have the same great taste! there are some new products i want to try in the future. i don't know how you all pick what products you review or if it depends on what people send you. i am dying to try kate sommerville and leaf and rusher. i am trying to be mature and wait until i use up a bit of what i have and save my pennies. take care and keep up the great reveiws! carolb
mel9 says, So the Biore ripped a bunch of little piggy hairs out of my chin, but the blackheads are still going strong! Of course, I didn't have the Joey to follow up with. Also, I used the Biore that is "only to be used on the nose," but thought, wtf, it's all the same, right? I don't know...anyways, waiting for a Bliss peel in the mail, but do wanna order some Joey. So, trying to decide b/w 4 of them. Either the chin breakout like you suggested - that usually is a period acne thing i could use - but doesn't look specific for this particular blackhead issue right now. Have you tried these other 3: Blkhd rmvr and pore minmzer (looks specific to my immediate problem), Hide and Heal (looks like a good all over trmt, but is it really just a concealer - cuz those never do enough for me-and I've got some awful broken blood vessels too), then finally the roll-on blemish fix (I feel like I basically already have this b/w my tea tree roll-on, tea tree toner, and calendula toner). But if these products are as good as it looks, maybe it's good to have the whole arsenal? I dunno-would like to just have one that takes care of everything, though! Respond only when you have time!!
mel9 says, OOH - good idea about the Biore - and they're just at the drugstore, right? I"ll check that out tomorrow, and if that's a no go, I'll be ordering the Joey - thanks again =^)))
mel9 says, Could I love you more right now??!! Be glad I don't live near you or I'd be taking you out behind the middle school - god that 30 rock reference still has me rolling! You are so sweet to solve my zitty chin problems when you have so much on your plate right now - and I very obviously have waaayy too much time on my hands this week. My last credit card scared the bejesus out of me and I swore to spend only cash/debit now, but here we go again-never thought I'd have anything in common with Amy Winehouse until my mom told me the other day I needed makeup rehab! So, l'll go with the Joey since Aunt Flo and Uncle Red are my biggest problems - gotta online order it, right? Sephora doesn't look to carry it. But may try their blackhead thing though too. I think that's my bigger problem. The zits are usually very quickly cleared up with tea tree oil, and I"m sure calendula will normally do the trick also normally - it's these blackheads - I cannot believe the clarisonic is not sucking them out of my face immediately - and I'm using the strongest brush-ugh. But, thanks much doll, and don't worry about the multitude of emails I sent either - in fact, per Lilykane's suggestion, I've tried Kuumba oils and their owner wants me to send my Venezia to them so they can help-wow-what customer service!! Also, going tomorrow to pick up my Jo Malone stuff-sooo excited!! ~Mel
bellamar says, Hi, there Liked the reviews for ModelCo Fluidsplash but can't find in any of the stores. Sephora was mentioned but they don't have it on their websie Do you know who has it. I hate to buy a foundaton without trying first. Thanks, Lisa
pamelairene says, Thanks love for being my spell check! I'm at home using my new computer Pokieman made for me.. Yeah!
cvines says, Yes, I did. How rude of me not to let you know they arrived. I was so happy with both products for different reasons that I am ordering both (gasp!). I use the Firm and Fade at night and the Sjal serum during the day. I will probably only use the Firm and Fade once to even out my skin and then will just use the Sjal serum and perhaps the Sjal moisturizer for oiler skin at night. I agree that the Firm and Fade, while fabulous and does what it is supposed to do, is a bit heavy for regular use for us oilier gals. Thanks again for your very generous gift! I appreciate it very much! Christy
txtipster says, I got a new green Dell laptop and a pink palm phone. Both my computer and phone died at the same time. No chocolate or flowers this year...I'm kinda like a guy cause I'd rather have gadgets. My hubby is actually out of town right now so I'm spending Vday with the kiddos. Just got back from Chuck E Cheese...talk about fun! I am going to join him in San Antonio tomorrow night for a night without kids, so we will celebrate then. Hope you are having a great day.
txtipster says, You have to try the Cherry Crush lip stain with Candy Cane lip glaze on top. It's soooo pretty. Hope you're having a wonderful Valentine's Day! Tiffany
kate2004rock says, How'd the fruits of our coast-to-coast makeup cartel turn out for you? I really like that Napoleon blush! I haven't experimented too much with the highligher yet. At least not since I got it, I've worn it a bunch at work around the store!
