Stacy B here! I feel like Thanksgiving was so long ago! I'm in full holiday swing here, yesterday I took a day off for an ultrasound (Baby B is doing great! I'm halfway there!), had lunch with the hubby and got about 90% of our Christmas shopping done before heading out to a nice dinner in Boston with some co-workers and their significant others. The lights and trees were so pretty and despite the still warm temps (65 yesterday!) Christmas is in the air. Turkey is but a memory to me now.
I do remember the night before Thanksgiving when all my baking was done I looked down at my nails and realized I really needed a manicure but didn't have time. I found a great reddish burgundy color in my drawer that was perfect for the fall holiday and sat right down to paint my nails. After a close look I notice my skin was really dry and I had SIX tiny little cuts on my fingers and hands! SIX! My skin was so dry that the baking and cleaning and preparing had ripped apart my hands. There was nothing I could do but find some lotion for a quick fix and hope that my holiday festive nails would distract from the fact that I looked like I got into a bar fight.
I'm sure no one but me noticed, but I vowed to take better care of my hands throughout the winter. On my desk at work, I have Sebamed's hand and nail balm. I've reviewed Sebamed before here and really liked it and still use it. This lotion seemed perfect for my dry cracked hands so I started using it as much as I could.
This hand lotion is advertised as non-greasy and rapidly absorbed, which I am not totally in agreement with. It's a little more liquid-y than I like my lotions. I want thick creams that you can feel working right away and that your skin drinks right up. This is a little slippery and required a LOT of hand rubbing to rub it all in. It definitely did absorb and when it did my hands were not greasy, but it took awhile to get there.
It is enriched with allantoin and vitamin B5 to support skin's natural health, while keratin promotes natural firmness and elasticity. That's from their site and to be perfectly honest (which you know I always am!) I am not totally sure what that means. But, I like that there are natural ingredients and there is a science behind this lotion. It's about a healthy pH balance for your skin, not just a good smell or a fun package. That's really a good thing!
It has a nice smell and you don't need to use a lot. The smell doesn't linger so you are left smelling clean and fresh. It's been about two weeks since the hand massacre and I only have 1 little cut on my knuckle. Which was totally my fault, I was trying to rip open a package I got in the mail before my husband got home because it was a present for him! Packing tape got the best of me that day.
My nails do feel stronger than I remember for this time of year, and I haven't had many breaks in the last two weeks either. Which means when I do have time for that pre-holiday mani-pedi, they'll look great!
This is only about $13 and for what you get it's worth it. I can get over the extra rubbing it takes to get it absorbed because once it is, it works really well. Now if I could just get my co-workers to stop trying to steal it! What hand lotion are you loving? Buy It here!
Meg here! Writing from The Big Apple, going to attend The Gotham Awards tonight where I will be sure to ask the A-List what beauty items/gifts they're buying for the holidays. Yes, Roxy will be with me as well. I'll be sure to ask her too.
A funny thing happened to me Saturday in the city. I went to go get a manicure, because it had been Three Weeks. Yes, you read that right. My color was still on, although starting to grow out at the nail base. I only had 2 slight chips. I had to request something new and exciting, I had to request my NATURAL nails be cut and then filed. Cut!! My natural nails needed to be cut and filed! As a nervous Nellie disgusting nail-biter, I thought I would have a better chance seeing Jesus then seeing this day! How did it happen? Let me tell you all about my new obsession, Gel manicures. The love affair started in August and I need you to run through my nail history time line to understand.
10 years-18 years old: Natural, painted still always biting. 18 years-33 years old: Acrylic Tips, sometimes silk. Always on. Would take periodic brakes because my real nails underneath would a. either get too thin or b. become discolored and disgusting. This vicious cycle would keep me running to get the fake nails put on to hide the damage I had done to the real ones. 34 years old: Still Acrylic tips but only for television or special occasions. Trying to get the real ones to just look decent.
35 years old: Try the new "gel/shellac" craze. Do it consistently. From August to this past Sat. (end of November) giving my nails a break with just a standard manicure with regular color right now. I'm just doing this break because I heard it is important to take a break every now and again so your nails don't get too thin. I have yet to experience this, decided to err on the side of caution.
What is the difference? Just like in a regular manicure, cuticles are pushed back and nails are filed. Nails are also buffed, so the gel adheres more strongly. Next a coat of gel “polish” is applied to each nail, then drying time under a UV Light in between. A second coat is applied and then allowed to dry again. This process is repeated about 3 times on each hand.
I first tried this because I would be traveling to South America for 10 days of an extreme schedule. Left little time for sleep, never mind time to tend to my nails myself and I didn't know if there would be any nail salons on the itinerary. Guess what? No nail salons on the itinerary . I would not stop raving about how awesome my nails were holding up to my friend Jo Piazza. I couldn't believe how they looked salon perfect even after rigorous hikes and packing. I thought I was driving her crazy until we got back to the States and she sent me a tweet "Loving my Gel Manicure that @Megsmakeup insisted I get!" I had converted her. It makes sense. Jo is flying around the country doing all sorts of TV interviews for her book "Celebrity Inc" so she needs camera ready nails without a lot of maintenance.
The color that I've been picking pretty consistently for this season is "Asphalt" a super deep charcoal. My nails look amazing for two weeks, if I push (and no, they don't look "amazing" at 3 weeks but still decent) I can get 3 weeks. This is great for a busy person that needs great looking hands.
The cons? These are not "cons" for me, but complaints I have heard some say. "It's hard to take off" yes. I love that about it. However, if you do constant polish changes then this may not be for you. I never try to remove my own gel manicure. I have the nail technician do it. She soaks cotton balls in acetone and then wraps my fingers in tin foil. I sit like that for about 5 minutes. Then she takes her tools and scrapes it off. My nails still look super healthy and strong. I swear, it's amazing how great they look. This costs an extra $10 at my salon but I don't need hassle over $10 so it's just easier to have it removed right where I'm having the new color applied.
The price? It varies city to city. It cost me $45 at my salon in West Hollywood. It really costs $55, I always tip at least 20% because I believe tipping is how we get into Heaven. It's pricier then the normal manicure but it lasts so much longer I think it evens out. I got my nails regular color Saturday and I'm looking at 2 chips as I type this. I'm never going back. I'm sticking to gels! How about you? Have you tried gel mani's? What did you think? I'll purchased 3 gift certificates at my salon to give to friends for their birthdays. I'm sure once they try it they'll become die-hard gel fanatics like me!
I'm not much of a drinker: Goddess Granny here and although I try to be chic and celebratory in my choices of cocktails,I am the girl who orders and drinks about half of anything! Friends actually count on me not finishing a drink so they can swoop in while it's still chilly...I think it's because there are SO many options, brands and creative-recipes out there that it's sort of like being in Sephora and that WAVE of indecision due to sensory overload hits you right before you (okay me...:) start to hyperventilate and get giddy hoping you choose the "right thing?" I am just not that sophisticated I guess when it comes to my libations and prefer a good glass of wine or bourbon and water on a cold night. Port and dark chocolate are my "bathtub" luxuries but if you start asking me about preferences in vodka or rum or anything else, I stammer and shut down! We're starting the season of celebrating BIG TIME so I'm going to really try to expand my options and expose myself to more of the yummy drinks people rave about...this doesn't include my immediate Texas zip code where Keystone beer and/or home brew in a gallon milk jug are considered fine-liquors!
Y'all know Megsmakeup.com LOVES anything the amazing "Tini Beauty Lounge" serves up and although they too offer as many choices as stars in the sky in terms of color options, they also make it easy to indulge by sharing their adorable website and great prices for original and beautiful products! Your nails and lips are covered with confidence whether your opt for a low key subtle style or a more glam "look at me" range of colors and finishes! I am currently obsessed with wearing a very dark graphite glitter on my toes and a vampy shade of hollywood deep red on my fingers...the combo just seems to "work" for the season and go with either a neutral face or my much-loved red lip look! I also do love the way clean nails look and do enjoy wearing them in a more "natural" (God...I hate that word!) state during the warmer months but even then I have to tip them with a bit of shimmer or I get all depressed...glitter is my therapy.
We all know what the fabulous darker on trend shades can DO to our nails though whether they are natural or a product of your hard-working nail salon's skills and the staining, dullness, and grayness the darker shades leave behind when removed is not good.I don't want the have the top-surface of my nails (which are paper thin and sensitive) buffed off to remove stains prior to a polish and don't allow it during a mani or pedi as it's just not a wise practice for the health of your nails.I go every two weeks but HATE chipped nail color of any kind so I am one of those who re-does it in between pro-paint jobs and it's become my habit to soak my toes in particular prior to re-painting to insure they are really nice to start with!
Nailtini's "Club Soda Fizz" nail whitening soak is my tootsies new BFF: you get almost 6 ounces of product and you only need to use a couple of capfuls in a basin of warm water so it lasts a LONG time! It smells delicious, like that slightly-cirtusy yummy soda we know and love! It creates this dancing, fizzing party in a bowl that is just SO much fun! I dip my hard-working tootsies in and let the fizzing work while it whitens and brightens my nails as well as refreshing and soothing my feet! It's nothing short of delightful and takes only 5 min to work it's magic while I relax! Of course it can be used on your fingertips with equally great results and although I've tried other whitening soaks that tend to smell like bleach and retirement homes, this one is as refreshing as a cocktail that I CAN finish! It leaves your nails pristine and cared-for,removes stains and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't enjoy using this unique product. Mike has been hinting he to want to indulge...great gift idea along with perhaps a Nailtini color too! Their packing is just so cute and honestly, they have created a niche in terms of their marketing and original offerings which I love!
Buy your clean and sparkling Club Soda Fizz soak here and as always,be prepared to spend a bit of time on their entertaining site!
It's getting to be that time when time seems to be elusive and short, we're all on the RUN so why not indulge a bit on your own and treat your nails to a healthy and much-appreciated cleanse while you enjoy a cocktail and a magazine! I always say one of my "important rules of beauty" especially to the young ones out there is to take CARE of your feet because as you get older (and alas, you will...) they need more attention so you can enjoy the things and shoes you love! Nailtini will insure they look gorgeous as well!
I am VERY fond of this product! Do you also treat your feet to the best of care? Enjoy the Holiday and take a bit of time for you! Have you ever delved into the 'Tini line.
It's finally a bit cooler down here in the South and Goddess Granny is finally happy! I don't know ANY living thing that would enjoy never ending days of 100 degree heat unless it's a native Texan and even the one I live with is weary of the heat so we're embracing the cooler breezes and slight snap in the air! I can however, literally look out my windows at the three fields and a vineyard that surround my house and see "dust-devils." Artistic little creations of nature that consist of yes, DUST in the form of small funnel-clouds that whirl and swirl across the open spaces and then usually end up somewhere IN my house...it's beyond dry outside and my poor skin and hair also need moisture asap!
I refuse to accept,of course, that the dryness I am experiencing has anything to do with "age". I've been going to great lengths to try and get the plumpness back where little lines are showing up! I soak and slather and even do the "Vaseline and white cotton ankle socks" look at night. It does help inspire of the commentary and laughter I am subjected to but what to do about the REST of me without risking greasy sheets and raised eyebrows? There is something to be said for sleeping solo so a girl CAN indulge in overnight beauty extras like sponge curlers, cotton gloves and socks. Things like gooey creams and conditioners left on for the long haul not subject to explanation or judgement!
Recently I shared the fabulous "first step" to getting one's skin in glowing shape when I reviewed Aromafloria's amazing "Salt/Sugar Scrub Exfoliating Treatment" and many of you LOVED the pure ingredients and generous portions of product for the price! Aromafloria leads the way in their green certified, wonderfully sourced, and vegan ingredients and again,I because I truly care what goes onto my skin as much as what I put into my body,it's a huge plus when companies invest in the best ingredients for their customers! My saving grace in recent days has been their FABULOUS Healing Waters Body Smoothing Treatment. An incredible dry-oil spray that leaves my skin silky and smooth and most importantly, looking MUCH younger and healthier than before I apply it!
Gorgeous oils and vitamins "elegantly entwine" in a product that is convenient and classy! This is a physician-formulated product intended to replace what nature and harsh conditions remove from your body-skin and the results are an improvement that you can instantly feel and see! Your skin is hydrated and just feel like it "fits" you better once the nourishing oils and vitamins begin to soak in...you simply spray it on after the shower or bath or anytime you feel you need some extra moisture (in my case, it's closer than my phone these days)and gently massage to help it absorb right in!
The scent is so lovely: sort of citrus-y but with that "expensive spa-only blend" quality you simply don't get when chemicals and fillers are in the mix and although it won't conflict with whatever else you use. I've used it alone and received compliments on how great I smell. I love Aromafloria's clean, crisp site, you can almost sense how pure and nice what they create is just from browsing around and enjoying the soothing color-scheme! Buy this LOVELY hydrating dry-oil spray here and again, you get a lot for your investment in terms of quality and product! A few sprays will cover everything perfectly and leave that gorgeous natural moisture-barrier all over you all day!
I always put down a towel first to absorb any over spray. I tend to really indulge...this is also a GREAT spray to use on your legs for one of my little beauty "tricks": Spray your legs and let the "Body Smoothing Treatment" work it's magic while it absorbs and gives you a glow! THEN take a puff with a bit of Urban Decay's "Sparkling Body Powder" (I adore Marshmallow...) and apply to the fronts of your shins and the back of your calves...it will give you a polished "no hose" look that also slims and defines a bit and you'll be ready to slip into those sparkly shoes with your best legs forward for sure!
I am becoming a BIG fan of dry-oil body sprays as they are travel-friendly and multipurpose and Aromafloria's has everything you need to get the BEST skin regardless of the elements!
Have you tried a dry-oil body spray to banish the dryness and don't you also appreciate Aromafloria's commitment to giving us all the best in exclusive body products because they are exceptionally pure?
Meg here! It's funny how we think we know things. I was so off the mark with this one! I was consulting for a shampoo company and they wanted to know what I thought their new shampoo and conditioner line should smell like. I personalized it and thought about scents that I find pleasing. My initial thoughts were jasmine, freesia, gardenia, pretty much any white blossom. Was I wrong? Yes, I was SO WRONG! Scent is pretty much the most personal thing ever, I was lucky I didn't turn in my floral favorites. I would have ended up alienating a huge part of the market.
How did I save the situation before it became a grave mistake? I asked the smartest consumers around! I asked you! Yes, the Megheads solved that dilemma (as you do with most of them.)
I asked 6 months back "What do you want to smell like in your shower?" (Marketing exec's play close attention here, I did the homework for you.) The overwhelming answer? VACATION! The second runner-up? Subtle and clean. I would like to introduce shower products that deliver both of those results. Famed make-up artist Dmitri Jame's Skinn line has come out with an "Island Breeze Set." We were sent the Island Breeze Body Wash to test out!
The answers that you ladies provided me with were a bit more in depth than "Vacation" although that is the overall feeling you're looking to convey! The actual notes that have you all transported? Coconut and "the smell of suntan lotion."
The description for Island Breeze body wash "This gentle, detergent-free body wash will pamper your skin with a blend of tropical moisturizers, emollients and fruit extracts including Coconut Milk and Tahitian Noni. This luscious formula will gently cleanse and condition, leaving skin feeling magnificently soft and craving your next shower." Sounds up the alley of what a lot of you are looking for.
I pinked the pink bottle because we have pink accents in our bathroom. Don't act like you never pick packaged products that match your powder room decor because I won't believe you! There are a few pink tiles and my shower is a pale pink so yeah, I'm going with the pink body wash.
The wash suds up nicely, not big over-the-top suds but it more lathers. The pump bottle size is generous and while the scent is there and definitely lingers, it's not all overpowering. Your skin feels baby soft after your shower and we've had (me and the roomies) the bottle for quite a while. Kristenosborne88 came home for her lunch break today while I was writing this post. I asked her if she had anything she wanted to contribute. She did. "I always use that wash, Ethan told me that it makes me smell like spring. He likes it." So there you go! Apparently, smelling like vacation is pleasing to both sexes.
Dmitri Jame's has a sale going on where you get 4 products from the island breeze collection for $44.
I've been traveling and on the go so much it's nice to be able to take a tropical escape without actually having to leave my house!
How about you? What are you using in the shower? What makes you part with your dollars in a body wash and lastly, admit it! Do ever buy a product "just because" it looks pretty on your sink or in your shower?
If you know me, you KNOW that anything to do with bath or shower products makes me happy! Goddess Granny is a slave to her tub and shower stall because for me, they are "therapy" of the highest degree and deserve to be treated with respect! I love to dump everything I can into a steaming tub then just bask in the benefits: I know some don't "get" baths and that's perfectly fine but for me,they fix a lot. Sore muscles and abused feet are soothed, pores are open and ready to absorb, skin is left glowing and happy because it's not only clean, it's received the benefit of whatever cocktail-ed concoction I have drizzled into the tub that promises amazing rejuvenating results! Not to mention that you can condition your hair and actually look sort of hot wearing a plastic baggie on your head because the bubbles make it sexy...
I read, write, watch gossip shows and movies, and it's one of the rare times I feel NO guilt what so ever for spending time only on myself! Who can fault one for wanting to be clean Showers for me are only when I don't have time for a bath and even though there are yummy soaps and gels and all manner of butters and creams designed to work in a shower stall, they are second-tier for me...until now.
I read a LOT about products and trends and look at SO many websites sometimes I feel my brain-cells frying trying to absorb all the info. When a site strikes me to be as cool, well-constructed, informative, and just plain "of the moment" as the "Level Naturals" one does, it gets bookmarked immediately! I'm weary of pretentiousness and competitiveness based on ego and not product design or quality ingredients so when a company can represent itself exactly as you imagine it'd be like if you were chatting with the creators, it's a huge win for me!
Who can fault their "dig deep and suck the marrow out of life!" philosophy and commitment to cruelty-free, responsible products that are also gluten free (becoming a BIG thing for me!) as well as donating to local charities and sourcing without damaging the environment! "Green" I'm usually not but I LOVE This website and the no-nonsense cool without any effort approach to doing the business of bath products with a NEW and very on point style! Their products sound totally delicious and if you visit the "About" page, the people involved in design and production really have an edge when it comes to knowing what people want in their showers and tubs! Blood Orange...Lemon Sage...Tangerine Spearmint...just to name a few of the literally edible-sounding soap scents Level Naturals offers! Gorgeous chic no frills recycled packaging for everything and a perfectly edited product line is impressing me to no end!
They have a reasonably priced (you get 4 for $8.00!) "Shower Bomb" they refer to as the "little sister of the bath bomb..." You plunk this little gem on the floor of your shower away from the drain and let the water work it's magic releasing FABULOUS menthol eucalyptus vapors that clear your head immediately from seasonal stuffiness or a brutal night of partying and tea tree oil gives your feet a MUCH appreciated little bit of healing help! It's like being in a posh spa where fair maidens (okay...spa attendants) pour steaming hot water over branches to release beneficial oils right in the comfort of your shower! this is SUCH a great idea and product and I'm hiding the rest of my "Shower Bombs" because my guy is already sniffing around and asking if "there's more of what smells so good!"My bathroom smelled amazing for like 2 hours after I used one!
Buy your own "Shower Bombs" aka trip to paradise in a shower stall here and see if you don't agree that "Level Naturals" is one helluva' cool and contemporary consumer-directed company with everything going for it:!
I'm dying to try the Lemon Sage Ginger body polish and am so impressed with the prices and that every single ingredient is clearly listed under the product descriptions! I feel younger and cleaner just reading around their site and think you'll be impressed as well!
Have you ever tried a "Shower Bomb" and don't you love it when you can be confident that what you add to your bath or shower is pure and natural as well as smelling sensational? LOVE that those who are strictly "shower people" can now also indulge!
Meg here! It's a cool and crisp 50 degrees in NYC. This is where I've been for the past week. This is where I'm thinking the unthinkable, I have to stop running around the city in heels. I currently have really attractive band-aids on my scraped up knees. Last night I went for a cocktail at the gorgeous Mandarin Oriental Hotel overlooking Lincoln Center...In sneakers. It's come to this.
I love heels. Love them. I've also never had too much of a problem scooting around the city in them. It's just so strange, my feet and legs have decided to revolt. I've given up. I'm not putting them back on unless I'm doing direct car door to door service and knowing that I'll have a seat saved for me once I get where I'm going.
Last night was alright, after I had my cocktail I made my way over to the movie theater and got home without hitting the pavement once. My shoes? No they're no longer Prada, they're Puma.
My actual tootsies? They're still in recovery mode. At the beginning of the week, I shoved them into a pair of fabulous sky high boots to run through the streets. I'm pretty sure I've shifted bones in there at this point. My entire body is sore. It's with great pleasure I can review Heal My Sole!
Since I have been globe trotting this year, I have become an expert packer! No, not a light packer, but an "expert" one. I packed Heal My Sole's Yuzu Lotion. thinking "this may come in handy." Maybe I had a premonition my sole was going to be screaming for a cure?
I've been breaking out this bottle and it's been fabulous! The Yuzu scent is refreshing and gives a recharged feel. It's helping my tired and weary bones relax. It's like Heal My Sole was made custom, just for me! The good news is that they're also custom-just for you!
From luscious lotions to candles to bug spray, Heal My Sole is made naturally and by hand. There are popular blends that are their bestseller's, but you can create your very own!
My tired toes are looking a lot less beat up with my fabulous Yuzu lotion. I'm also happy to support products that are made as such a labor of love. This holiday season, I'm going to be buying from more small business owners. I've been finding some real gems.
Check out Heal My Sole and let me know what you think! I'm going to be off and running now, just not on 6 inches!
Stacy B here! Anyone who has had a job, a relationship or basically a life, knows we have to bite our tongues sometimes and look the other way and sometimes we run into a deal breaker. Like a cheating boyfriend, a friend who steals from you, or a boss who harasses you.
I went to a favorite restaurant and my waitress dropped an entire cup of tea (iced, thankfully!) all over me, my coat and the table. Deal breaker? Nope, not for me because I know it was not her fault, she was mortified and the restaurant is normally perfect. I forgave and still frequent the place. That was my 'look the other way' moment and I'm totally OK with that. Life doesn't have to be perfect all the time. We all have a flaw!
I've been married for 5 years now and I have definitely overlooked some flaws. John, if you are reading this, you are not flawed at all, I'm taking creative liberty. I married him because he had no deal breakers. At least in my book. But here's something that might have sent many ladies running for the hills. He will not give me a foot massage. Nope. None. Not even when I was 16 months pregnant and my toes were the size of a baseball bat handle from carrying around a full grown human inside me. Not when I was working retail in between jobs and was on my feet for 22 hours a day. And especially not with a massage oil or cream because that would make 'his hands slimy and feet-smelling" Yes, I'm serious. I finally got him to do it, but I had to keep my socks on, there was no massage 'goo' and he complained the whole time. Feel my pain ladies.
So, when I got this week's product: Feet Relief Massage Creme I tortured him for about a week by telling him the only way I could write an honest and realistic post for Meg was if he gave me a foot massage, with creamy massage goo! Then, he had a really stressful week at work and found out he had to go to Switzerland for a week and he hates flying. I felt bad and took matters into my own hands.
This massage cream is from Aubrey Organics, which means natural ingredients and I love it already. It's supposed to soothe, moisturize and warm. I got 2 out of 3 of those. It definitely moisturized, it soaked in pretty well and really made my skin feel soft. Especially after not rubbing it totally in and sleeping with socks on. My toes and heels were smooth and moisturized the next morning. I've been using this for a few weeks, two or three times a week and my feet really feel good. After a long summer of sandals, flip flops and heels, I needed it. It was a good recovery lotion, I felt my skin was renewed.
The soothing was probably mostly the actual massaging I was doing. Yes me, not hubby, he was too distracted with his trip to pick up on my guilt vibes. It didn't warm though. I expected a warming, tingling sensation and I got nothing. But, I'm OK with that, I didn't need the warming to get the other benefits.
The only bad thing was the smell was really strong. And I mean REALLY strong, and it was heavily floral and perfumed and a little earthy. My husband said it smelled like "old people's home." Nice. Which just strengthened his argument that he would never touch it. I'm painting a great picture of my wonderful better half, aren't I? He's really great, I swear! And he's bringing me Swiss chocolates!
It is really strong and that keeps me from using it more than a few times a week. Other than that, for an organic product I am pretty pleased. Especially at less than $7! Normally I like my foot creams really thick and this is more like a regular lotion, but that just encourages more massaging. I hope those of you in relationships have a partner that will take care of your pretty feet!
What foot creme keeps your tootsies touch worthy? Buy It Here!
It was really interesting to read the responses to the recent posts on "facial exfoliation!" Some like me, Goddess Granny, can't live without an occasional scrub or peel. Some feel they are simply one more step or too invasive...I learn a LOT while researching and reading. I'd have to say that when it comes to "facial exfoliation, there are pros and cons: as long as you are cleansing everyday with appropriate products, nature will eventually take care the sloughing-off process for you. If you wear a a lot of makeup and/or sweat excessively, I truly think that using products designed to get rid of the dead cell debris asap are beneficial. It results in a "better" skin surface faster...just my two cents! That's why I LOVE that there are so many options and wouldn't it be a bore if one thing or process was the gold standard for us all? I would have a lot more room in my bathroom if I could edit the products to perfection...
However...and you knew this was coming, the skin on our body IS our "largest organ!" Everything we use and how we take care of it makes a difference inside and out! I do believe in purity and the healing powers of natural ingredients when it comes to body-care products. If you've never experienced the dubious "thrill" of an allergic reaction to laundry soap or lotion, you are among the lucky few! I really pay attention to the "what" of it all when it comes to selecting my much-adored bath and products. My entire day's mood can be made or devastated depending on what I smear on the the shower...lame, I know but it's the little things...right? I like to know that what I'm using is as lovely as what I intend to wear and go about my day or night! I CARE about texture and scent and I really care that the products I use WORK as intended with great results!
For 30 years, Sharon Christie has studied aromatherapy as well as pharmacology and is one of those beautiful rare-birds that "gets" both the clinical AND the purest aesthetic value in ingredients and the resulting products: since 1985,WAY before the "trend of the green!" Christie's "Aromafloria" line has been formulated with the finest in certified organic ingredients and holistic healing oils: these products have been favored by many top spas and this luxurious combination of "nature and science" results in some of THE most beautiful and effective body-care products on the market! The line has been featured in many prominent publications and the amazing range of products will have you covered from head to toes with green-goodness that is also exceptionally lovely!
I am a big believer in the power of scent to heal as well as hydro-therapy even if it's in one's own bathtub. The "Aromafloria" website, an education in green-elegance, perfectly describes the "best" way to release soothing-scents into a bath. Which temperature under their "Aromatherapy 101" section! I DO without a second thought, believe that exfoliation of the skin on our bodies is a must for health and vanity. Dry brushing has been used since Roman Times to release toxins, get rid of dry cells and to allow healing scents and waters to be better absorbed into the body...
"Healing Waters Body Exfoliation Treatment", which comes packaged in a solid plastic tub containing an unbelievable 22 ounces of product is in a word: divine! It's a combination of BOTH salt and sugar in a gentle scrub with a refreshing light yet definite scent of herbs and citrus that makes skin glow and feel like satin with almost ridiculously no effort! It's 100% Vegan and every possible concern or care one might have about purity,or testing or ingredients is simply perfection! This amazing product releases healing oils as you gently scrub and because it's so dense and "active" you really don't need to use much for spectacular results! It wakes up your senses and your skin will feel like a day AT the spa after toweling off...muscle aches are gone and again, your skin is at it's very best, clean and refreshed and you'll smell fabulous! It's made a HUGE difference in the quality of my overly-dry skin lately and I scramble to look for it before every shower...I need a jar in every room! Take the "slippery" caution to heart, this product is LOADED with yummy oils so use care and don't turn your shower into a slip n slide! I WANT the resulting silky skin for sure and you need no other creams or lotions after a scrub with this grainy-goodness!
my skin is "nice" before I get ready to face the world and this "Body Exfoliating Treatment" absolutely guarantees that you'll be SO soft and smooth that anything you slide on over it will feel as well as look nicer by contrast! There is nothing better than to start now to get our skin ready for the "Winter" ahead! I love knowing that under those black opaque tights,my legs and the rest of me will be baby soft and smooth! I ADORE a great body smoothing treatment, especially one that's as pure and effective as "Aromafloria's!"
Meg here! I've found some wifi and I'm still in South America, Cusco to be exact. It's really gorgeous. I love it here. I'm going to show pictures and tell you all about my Contiki Tour. I'm in the Cusco airport getting ready to fly to Iguazu Falls. Igazu Falls is 275 waterfalls that all coincide together. I added the links for you to check out. This has been awesome.
I'm very skinny, I'm like a spider. I have a this thin, spindly and long limbs. I have a round middle. I'm under-weight but still have a tummy pooch. It use to drive me crazy and it doesn't really anymore. I guess it helps that we're leaving swimsuit season. I'm lucky in the way that my pooch does disappear here and there. It loves to make appearances around my period or if I've over-indulged. I believe the correct medical term for this condition is "muffin top?" I also have come to accept it because if the alternative is eating well or working out then I'm just not willing to do that. I know...
However, I know a lot of you that do eat well and do work out (this is to my C-Section ladies) and their pooch never ever disappears. I would imagine this would be very annoying. I mean, there is always the option of just accepting it as a fact of life but if something really bother's you them why? If you can fix something that drives you crazy then my motto is to just fix it and move on.
There is a new pooch removal on the market! It's called Final Inches and women are loving the results. It's not just for women, if you know a man that has lost a bunch of weight but can't hide his man-boobs then sign him up! It's not right that us woman are the only ones that get to obsess!
What is it? This next generation liposuction removes those stubborn Final Inches... This minimally invasive technique that forgoes the dreaded flaws of traditional liposuction using lasers to gently melt away fat, sculpt the body, and with just local anesthetic... most of us would --- we the less than perfect who struggle with stubborn genetic fat pockets that require us to chose between the fat or an emaciated looking face --- the result of extreme levels of dieting and exercise to take off those last final inches. Well, those days are finally over, and those final inches are finally within reason with the formal introduction of Final Inches and their Laser Sculpting Liposuction technique.
What makes it different from traditional liposuction? Only local anesthetic – No general anesthesia so a dramatic reduction of risk Minimally invasive laser through a tiny incision melts fat and removes it from body Little to no bruising with minimal recovery time - most patients returning to work the next day Sculpt the contour of the belly, love handles, thighs, muffin tops, back rolls, double chin, & arms Costs 25% - 50% less than traditional liposuction
So this procedure is being touted as the "death to traditional liposuction." The pictures look pretty convincing. If my pooch decides to make a repeat appearance and decide to try to permanently stay, I may have to give this a shot.
Just wanted to pass this along to the momma's that were looking to get rid of C-Section fat (it's almost impossible to get rid of!)
What do you think? Any of you suffer from fat pockets that, no matter how hard you try, you just can't get rid of your "final inches?" '
