About Me
Lately I have been needing to wear more makeup and have used several high end products that did not work--as well as some that did. Need to look polished and professional--want to also look a little bit sensual.

I wouldn't die, but I would suffer greatly without this product...

Aging dimishes eyelashes and it has done a number on me.

My secret beauty recipe and best makeup tips...

(none)

How long does it really take me to get ready? What's my beauty routine?

20 minutes

While Meg's mom used to give her at-home perms, my most mortifying makeup moment is...

Losing one set of false eyelashes and keeping the other one on--and no one told me!

My celebrity doppelganger (or so I'm told sometimes) is...

Linda Ronstadt

  • msterry says, Hi: Did you really try the Ookisa products? What products did you use? What kind of results were you looking for and what results did you get using these products? Have you ever heard of or used Nioxin products? Thanks for any information.

  • sweetassgal says, I love this line too and am so glad to have you respond to my review and see I'm not the only one. I'm going to have to try a few more things from the line...I'd LOVE to smell like the vanilla tangerine product you mentioned. It may drive my hubby CRAZY! I'll have YOU to thank for that one. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on the line. GLAM ON!

  • champ3377 says, I'm back--I permitted myself to have a very long nap and have been sloth today, and thus I apologize. I hear you when it comes to wrinkles. My face is still is good shape (thank you, genetics), but there are three defined creases across my neck which have troubled me since grade school. Not kidding--we didn't have to wear our uniforms for pictures in fourth grade and I was trying to dig out a turtleneck sweater in early September to hide them! Recently I was pleased to find myself losing fifteen "vanity" pounds--and then a plethora of little repugnant wrinkles appeared between the lines on my neck. Darn--I had been feeling really good! I did some research. I'm sure you know nothing permanently improves skin, but thank God many companies are offering "wrinkle-erase and lift" items and some have helped me greatly. Copper actually induces elastin and collagen synthesis in the skin, and Neutrogena has a highly effective "lifting" line (not cheap--about $27 for the blue gel--but I love this product). My husband is truly a sweetheart but didn't realize he just said the wrong thing one morning--"Hey, where are those little lines that were on your neck?" With me, it's always overkill, so I decided to make sure they never reared their ugly heads again. I ordered a thirty-day trial supply of the Dermitage skin care system. It contains a patented substance--Regenex--which includes the currently popular hyaluronic acid and other ingredients made specifically to help absorption. Bottom line? It's delivering what it claimed so far (I'm about two weeks into my trial period), but I will return the line if I'm not completely satisfied. The lines do not dissolve as shown as radically on the ads (www.dermitage.com), but I have a new smoothness and "taut" tone to my neck. Skin is basically skin except for the delicate tissue around your eyes--I don't why it wouldn't work above your lip. Another great way to stay smooth? Water, water, and more water. Eat healthily and take strong vitamin/mineral supplements (Vitamin C, for instance, cannot be overdone or become harmful as any excess is naturally excreted, and it is a tissue healer). Use makeup with light-diffusing particles to conceal problems. So, please, what do you do for pruny lips? My mother with the gorgeous, full pout claims that she did exercises to get and help maintain hers, and I'm researching that. However, I still remind her that she could have just passed on her mouth to me (along with her stunning blue eyes).

  • champ3377 says, Thanks for replying. I do have some suggestions that may possibly help. Would you bear with me? My mom made the decision to put her little dog to sleep late this morning and my head is pounding. It's exacerbating the pain I already have from last week's eye surgery. I'll write you later this evening or tomorrow. So very glad you wrote . . . and I appreciate the warning!

  • champ3377 says, Well, time to tell you the truth--I was (and am) intimidated by you! I've always been self-conscious about my teeth because my mother took an antibiotic when she was pregnant with me, and I actually have little enamel, mostly a thin layer of dentin. I've spent my life trying to bring out some form of white. Inevitably, when I've seen women with the most beautiful teeth, they've told me to try the Rembrandt routine, almost verbatim to what you wrote. It helps, and I can actually afford it! My teeth will never be white, but they are less disgusting. And I love your advice to "smile, honey lambs!" What a sweet expression!
