I can't live without this product... | Lately, in the past three months, I've been on the quest for a blusher that I can use daily. Nothing too pink, nothing too orangey, and nothing too shimmery. It had to be in powder form since I'm so oily during the summer months. I had picked up some mineral powder blush from AromaLeigh cosmetics after reading good reviews. I purchased two. One was a little too orangy for my complexion. The other, based on Nars Orgasm, too shimmery. I really liked the latter blush but not for the day time. Way too much shimmer. I gave up until one day I decided I needed to clean out my makeup drawer and get organized. I had many items since I had just help my Mom clean out her vanity (total product whore - I may just follow in her footsteps.) I came across this Clarins' blush in Sienna but had never tried because it just looked sooo dark. But I was desperate and thought just a little dab to see...Well low and behold it has know become a staple in my makeup drawer. The tried and true color that I can rely on on the days when I don't feel like coordinating because it just always seems to work for me and the color choices for my eyes and lips. It has no shimmer and the color looks like a nice healthy flush. Plus, the color doesn't change even with my over active sebum glands. Yea!!
I like "Clarin's Blush in Sienna" (Others who like it too...alabaster ) Leave a comment or review | 1 reviews or comments |
I wouldn't die, but I would suffer greatly without this product... No Ad Equals No Sun and Urban Decay Primer Potion | My sister turned me on to this. She has two boys who are always out in the sun and swimming. This is a great, cheap investment in saving your skin. It's not luxurious at all but it saves my budget so I can indulge in pretty things. So I know it's a good choice. I apply it thick right after I get a shower and just let it seep in as I get ready. No more genetic brown spots popping up since using it. Also, other hyperpigmentations on my skin are at a standstill. Now I just have to get rid of what I've created.

Without this product, I'd have to start drinking at noon ;-) ... Too Faced Lip Extreme | It's for those lazy days when I want to look like I put on makeup but didn't really. This is a great product if you can get past the burning sensation which I've actually have come too like cause then I know it's working. It makes my lips look rosy and fresh with a enough plumping action to stand out. All this without breaking out my lipstick palette and having choose a color. This goes with everything and great for the weekends when you don't want full makeup.

My secret beauty recipe and best makeup tips... If done too long it will irritate your face so be warned. Also, it's best for oily, non-sensitive skin. Find a rosemary bush, clip of a few strands. Place in a almost hot pot of water and simmer for a few minutes. Transfer to a bowl. Hunker down with a towel over your head so that the steam hits your face. This is good to open the pores. Follow with a good moisterizer or serum if your skin can handle it a gentle mask to clean out your pores. How long does it really take me to get ready? What's my beauty routine? A couple of hours from shower to end. Maybe more depending if I've shaved my legs during the week. Always best to take your time, drink a bit and enjoy the little pleasures. While Meg's mom used to give her at-home perms, my most mortifying makeup moment is... My mother used to own a makeup shop. Has anyone ever heard of Color 1? Well, that's the brand she sold. Anyhoo...I was a rebel. Nothing at all girly for me from the ages of 13-15. One day before school she got her hands on me. I'm not sure how she talked me into it. Pan stick foundation, full eye-makeup (a kelly green if I'm not mistaken) with black eyeliner - the works. I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life. And my friends all had a really good laugh. My celebrity doppelganger (or so I'm told sometimes) is... None that I'm aware of...

kryssanthe says, Yeah, I'm actually a little spooked by the rental home. The previous tenant went bonkers, started living in his own filth, lit a campfire in the LIVING ROOM, and is now in an institution. I fear the day he gets out and comes here. Good times :)
kryssanthe says, Artsy! I had feared you dead! I, too, haven't been on here much. Besides the fact that I haven't received anything to review in months and the products they've been posting about have been pretty obscure that not even I have tried them, the hubby and I are moving back to PA from CT and we're trying to sell our house in CT and move and all of that craziness, so BLAH! That sh*t is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Thanks for the Besame tip! You know I hit that like a $2 whore a few weeks ago and then again this week. If you didn't get the Pistachio eye shadow, get it. It's THE balls. Hope all is well at your end!
kate2004rock says, Oh! Come back you need therap! And buy some lipgloss! Oh I have lots of time now, I'm back in school. MBA at Texas Tech. Very different from Mississippi. A little closer to home. Man, being an adult sucks.
champ3377 says, So good to hear from you--thanks for pardoning my idiocy. I didn't have a great weekend (stress test for my heart and I'm fit and in good shape), and I'm still sick and dizzy from it. I hear you when it comes to being busy, but I concur (I'm a teacher but am on vacation): Meg and the women here are sublime--they couldn't be more supportive and kind! I've done freelance writing for other sites, and they were insulting, ignored readers' questions, and petty. Nearly every single review began with, "I'm a makeup junkie" (uh, you wouldn't be here if you weren't), and the panelists gave long weather reports before they posted reviews (that's nice, Denice, as I know that it is cold when it snows). It was tacky and banal. At the same, the founder/CEO actually used my reviews as her own and I quit. God Bless, Gigi
champ3377 says, Wow, am I embarrassed! I just saw you've been here a long time (read before you write, Gigi!), but I never saw a post from you since I started. I apologize. By the way, Urban Decay's primer is amazing--I concur. God Bless, GIgi with the Red Face
champ3377 says, It was good to get your input. I'm a teacher and high school girls go overboard (as in spend, spend, spend on everything and look horrible). I read your review on the fragrance and it was beautifully worded; you have talent and a keen sense of what works. Please hang in with us! I'm relatively new to this site, but Meg is sublime and the ladies are so supportive that you want to reach through the computer screen and hug them! God Bless, Gigi
indianafarmwife says, Oh hey! Where about in N AL? One of my sisters lives in Montgomery. Very cool about your sister joining MMU. And I’m with you, I’m going to miss DDoll, Rachel & ChiChi, but it’s going to be fun watching the new review styles unfold. I’m really glad to hear that things have settled out for you. As for me, I certainly can’t complain (too much). My home’s not underwater (If it ever is, I hope someone had the forethought to build an ark.) The building where I held most of my university labs is destroyed. But no one got hurt! The other cool part of the story is that I have a new cat. We heard her when we were doing some damage inventory. Lord knows where she’s from, but she was obviously a flood survivor. I carried her home and she hardly lets me out of her sight. FT called her “Flotsam” and it stuck. We’ll see what happens, but when the university rebuilds, they may have a new shop cat. It just seems fitting.
indianafarmwife says, Hey you! Life in Atlanta getting any less stress-filled?
indianafarmwife says, That's absolutely ZERO fun. At least with earthquakes and floods (when NOAA calls a flood "unbelievable" on the weather radio you kno it's bad) you can just shrug your shoulders and EASILY say "Well, there's nothing I can do about that." Man, I really feel for you. Hang in there. I'm sure it will pass soon enough.
tashagogo says, Hi sugar....I haven't been on much lately either...big changes in my life. How are you? I hope you're doing well. The Fresh Cannibus is wonderful...if you don't like it at first give it a few minutes and wait for the dry down....it's soooo worth it. i'm totally in love!!!!
indianafarmwife says, Yeowch! I think the diplomatic term might be “unpleasant”? I’ve had a couple of bosses in my past that I’m sure did some illegal things (and I subsequently quit) to the point of deposition a year or so later. But I’ve never been in the midst of a co-worker getting canned for something that bad. I can’t even imagine what your workplace must have been like recently. I hope it’s getting better.
indianafarmwife says, Oh where - oh WHERE - have you been? How have you been? I've missed you!
beezwax says, hello artsy! it has been some time since i have been on but i am well on my way to recovery (except for one pesky light pink scar on my throat) i just wanted to pop in and send you a little hello and happy spring! x o x o - beez
indianafarmwife says, Love the Peace, chica! Great profile pic! I THINK I may have the hang of HIP eyeliners… 39/29’s blog (mythbusterbeauty.com) had a post on some eyecolour… that included a photo of someone applying eyeliner THROUGH her eyelashes. Still have some issues, but I’m actually getting the hang of it! Woo Hoo!!!!
indianafarmwife says, I just re-read your message and had to laugh… because I found make-up after leaving to corporate cubes. Heaven help me, but I just tried some of the L’Oreal HIP eyeliner so raved about – Lord, but I just need a video or something, because I’m just not getting it. Maybe that should be my New Year’s Resolution (I still haven’t made one.) To step away from the eyeliner so no one gets hurt.
dan-i-licious says, haha its okay. your pretty chill :) Ya, i can just sorta see how it can look a bit :P lol...
indianafarmwife says, I guess I’m either old or boring… I feel like I’m trying to recreate the late 70’s with all of that shimmer – and I was more of a Ramones type than a disco kid. FYI – when I see you’ve posted, I ALWAYS have to check out what you think! How’s your year going?
kryssanthe says, I'm here for your entertainment, chica :) Gotta remember those lepers and orphans...
BUNNY says, Oh way to much drunken fun. We were on that Stratosphere ride, there are four of us on the ride, two other MMU members, but I would probably be dis-owned by ChiChi if I showed the entire pic! It was a blast though!
meg says, Hi Sweetpea, Did your package show up? Sorry it was so late! I threw in some extras to try to make it up to you! xoxo, Meg
