THE TRUTH ABOUT "TV HAIR" OR HOW TO BLOW YOUR CHILD'S COLLEGE FUND

Meg hair! You want to know what stinks? When you're five years old in a sandbox and everyone else in the group picture has cute ponytails and you have tufts on your head and your grandfather refers to you as "his little Ed Asner."
Being bald due to cancer must be terrible. I mean, you have cancer, so there are bigger issues. I never had cancer. I was just bald because God has a very good sense of humor and that's life.
Now, I have long, luscious hair. Amazing. It only took 10 orphans in a poor Indian village to get it. So, win? Win?
I can lie and tell you if you use this product your hair will grow. It doesn't. I spend the GDP of a poor nation on my tresses. Because I am on TV and I HAVE TO. Those long full locks with a slight curl on the end? Yes, they're as natural as my full C+ boobies and plump upper lip.
Jessica comes to my house after I've spent $300 on new, auburn Indian hair. She has to remove all of the old stuff. It gets ratty. I've got my extensions out and now she is coloring the remaining pieces I have in. She has to, we have to make the new hair perfectly match. It's step one in a process that will take hours and almost $1,000 a month. I think I'm JLo.
Full hair is sexy, full hair equates youth and health and vitality. Full hair has always eluded me, until I took the hit to my wallet and decided "full hair" was worth it.
This is totally random but I remember when Kirstie Alley joined "CHEERS" and she was the hot bar manager that everyone thought was so sexy and wanted to bone. I remember thinking "She's not that cute. She just has FABULOUS hair." Give that chick a buzz cut and no one is giving her a second glance. That my friend, is the power of hair.
Every summer in high school I would look forward to returning in September. Your head sweats and your hair grows in the summer months. I wanted to be the sexy girl with the flowing tresses past my shoulder. It grew past my shoulder. Much like a dandelion. A dead weed would grow and my hair would thin out and be split. Nothing like those Pantene ads had promised.
I got hip to the game and being around entertainment schools you pretty quickly "nothing is real." Today, I drove to Reseda to BUY the most perfect auburn locks. The ones that Jessica will sew into my head.
Is it expensive? Hell yes! Is it worth it? Hell yes!
By the end of tonight I will have AMAZING auburn locks. The kind that take 10 years off my age. When I meet a guy (IN LA, he knows what they are and "gets it.") When I meet a guy in any other part of the country he assumes I've had a serious brain injury and the screws at my scalp keep my head from falling to pieces.![]()
I've had boyfriends say "Take them out! I want to run my fingers through your hair." I dismiss this request, as it usually comes from the same boyfriend that says "I love you natural." All the while, the night he decided he was in love with me was the night I had spent an hour on my makeup and 20 minutes on my fake eyelashes.
So there it is. The before and after! WHAT DO YOU DO FALSE TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL REAL?

Beautiful! You look amazing! =)
I was born bald lol and mum used to make wear cute alice bands so I don't look like a boy but now, although my hair is still fine, I have a pob hair cut that I just love! On me I don't do anything false apart from wearing make-up, but I do gel nail extensions on my clients to make them look better :)
Ive always wanted extensions!!! .. I have big 80s frizzy wavy hair... and it takes me 45 mins to flat iron it.. i dont have the luxery to just throw my hair in a pony tail.. i have to flat iron it to put it in a pony tail.. when people would tell me you NEVER do your hair i want to punch them in the face! haha OH and i am a mousey brown so i aviously lighten it!! oh what you try to do to look good! haha
Extensions would be fun. My daughter who just graduated from college has a few. I paid for college. I see no justice in that. I do my own color because it needs to be done every 3 weeks and I have neither patience nor time to sit in the stylist's chair (or anyone's chair) for that long. I like the color I came up with last night and I am going to throw in a few highlights tomorrow. The key to that is start at the bottom not the roots as the instructions indicate. The heat from the scalp immediately starts to process the color while down on the ends, the splits are doing nothing. Unless you like brass orange on your scalp.
I color my hair -- the only false thing for me. So far, lol.
I as well color my hair. I never take time to take care of myself:(
beautiful hair.. just had my hair color corrected.. it was a mess!!! nothing like mom who tells it like it is and doesn't sugar coat it or bs like sig other and hauls me off to get hair color fixed- someone put black in there.. BLACK!! anyhow how I have pretty (a little dry) terracotta hair with caramel and golden toffee highlights.. I VOW to do what it takes to keep it like this (not an easy task on a grad school budget),, but looking like a million bucks is sooo worth the hassle..
if you got it you might as well spend it.. you look fab regardless meg! bet you would look great in a buzz cut too!
who loves makeup? me me ME!
Makeup in general makes me feel better. And a real haircut. I have a terrible DIY job because my new baby won't let me get out of the house without him yet. Newborns are fun but...

I color my hair, AND I just discovered the miracle that is the Keratin treatment. It's not like a Brazilian, it doesn't make your hair bone straight, it just smoothes the cuticle so no frizziness! It's not cheap but it lasts 3 months and my hair feels 10 years younger. I love it!
I color my hair because it is just flat brown with age whereas it used to be a golden blond. Actually, I haven't seen the tru color except for roots in years lol. I love my hair and a bad hair day will make the rest of the day suck.

Only makeup for me... Of and I straighten my hair too.
I wish I could do this. My hair is so thin and cant hold a curl. Maybe one day...
I like hair extensions and fake eyelashes every once in awhile. They are fun especially for a night out.
They look amazing!
I agree! I've always wanted to try extensions, since my hair is flat and thin :( Does not look anything close to the sexy and full hair I've dreamt of.
Those look great Meg! I guess my only real false thing is makeup... I don't always need it, but I just love to put it on and play with shades and looks.

Looks so great
Amazing !
I highlight my natural mousy brown hair to give it a little flare. It just makes me feel better and it helps brighten my skin so it's a win-win!
eyelashes, they (false eyelashes) make my eyes look awesome! I'm loving "Katy Perry" brand of false eyelashes right now, they self adhesive, last ALL day and I get Sooooo many compliments!
Lisa
looks amazing, but not for that price!
