NYX PUMP IT UP! LIMP PLUMPER! PLEASE GET ME YOUR ADDRESS IF YOU WERE THE TOP 10 REVLON BALMSTAIN WINNERS!

Stacy B here! I've had a lot of time to myself lately. Well, me and my newborn, but as much as I talk to him throughout the day, he doesn't talk back much. Being home with a very good but demanding little baby who much prefers to be held while walking around the house offers me a lot of time to play around with new make up and make up styles.
I know, it's pretty funny to think about me walking around the house with my handsome little man who probably spit up down my back, in yoga pants and a t-shirt, most likely un-showered and hair in a 2-day old ponytail with full glam, red-carpet-ready make up. But it's happened a few times! Sometimes I have time to wash it off before my hubby gets home but not always. He's gotten used to seeing me in various states of made up and just calmly takes the baby and lets me shower.
This certainly isn't the first time I've admitted to something slightly embarrassing in the name of make up reviews! And I bet it won't be the last.
Being home alone is a good time to try things you wouldn't normally try. I've been trying various shades of NYX's Pump it up Lip Plumper because I have always been afraid to try this before something important. What if I react badly to it and it makes me look like I got punched in the lips and then doesn't go down? I'm sure that's unrealistic, but when you are home all day with a baby, your mind goes to weird places...
The good news is that this did NOT make me look like a crazy balloon lipped lady. The bad news is that I'm not sure it did anything. It is a gloss so it can stand on its own which is nice. I didn't need to layer a lipstick under it to get color. Although there is a clear one which I could have used to layer if I wanted to. It's mildly sticky but not too annoying, and went on fairly smoothly. It's definitely not a high quality gloss, but it's not bad. It's usually sold for under $6, so keep that in mind.
At first, nothing happened. Then, after a few minutes, my lips started to tingle. It was a very weird feeling, like I ate too many of those little cinnamon red hot candies and licked my lips about a dozen times. I was afraid to talk too much or eat anything. I had an odd fear that it was like when you go to the dentist and get novacaine and if you talk or move too much you drool everywhere. Again, not realistic but come on, I am still up twice a night to feed my little man!
I kept checking the mirror to see if I could notice a difference. I couldn't so I asked the Mister. He very quickly said he could tell that my lips were a little more swollen than normal. Too quickly. I am not sure I believe him. And yes, he used 'swollen' which I guess isn't the worst thing he could have said.
I did like the color selection and the sticky factor was not so bad. And the shades are named after plump-lipped celebs which is cute. This was a decent gloss that didn't dry out or wear off too fast, but I can't stand behind it as a plumper. I still don't have proof that it actually worked. And the tube has a picture of a syringe on it, which I found a bit creepy.... But, I'd love to hear from anyone else who might have tried this and seen a difference!
Who swears they see a difference from their lip plumper? Which one?

Ah lip plumpers. The only one I have ever noticed made a difference is Venom and the pain is too much for me to take. I have several NYX lip products, but not the plumpers. I am not a fan of their lip products; but I do like their eye pencils. The line has an excellent price point, but I don't think they can do what they claim withoutinvesting a little more in research and develoPment.

lucky enough to have full lips so I don't wear lip plumpers...
I was one of the winners, where should I send my address to?
I was one of the winners too! francivusk@hotmail.it
As far as I know, I haven't tried a lip plumper. I never really went for the hype or the $$ for the better reviewed ones. I enjoy NYX gloss, though :)

I actually didn't mind the ELF lip plumpers. I kind of like that subtle tingling sensation, and while the plumping effect was VERY minimal, I didn't notice a little something, especially when using the lighter shades.
i've never been a fan of lip plumper for that reason...the weird tingly numbness. my boyfriend has postulated that they don't actually do anything for your lip size visually...they just make them FEEL bigger bymaking them feel numb. I think he may be right on this one.

I don't normally use lip plumper because I have very full lips, but I did receive a jouer lip enhancer in one of my beauty boxes and I didn't notice any difference and there was no tingling sensation.

I haven't tried these yet, and I feel like my lips are doing okay. But I haven't heard great things about this either. I think it was MsGoldGirl on youtube, said they were super painful. I think it was her... Anyway, it would be worth a try, but I'm not willing to go through excrutiating pain for a couple hours of plumpiness! :)

I don't need lip plumpers since I have pretty full lips. In fact I don't like the tingling effect of plumpers. Most seem to be mint flavored which is another thing I dislike.
Lol @ Limp Plumper. I don't really need plumping but the slight plumping effect helps to fill up lines, which is ood.
Looks so good!! Definitely something I would use in some way, everyday!
Plumpers burned so I am afraid of them
Never really noticed much of a difference when I used lip plumpers. They just work like a lip gloss for me...and I LOVE lip gloss!
I don't really use lip plumpers, my lips are already pretty plump ;-).
I have full lip so I have never tried a lip plumper.
I've never tried a lip plumper, but I used to get Botox in my cupid's bow and that made a huge difference without looking all fake. I miss my Botox lady! I'm too afraid to let anyone else try it on me, but this nurse knew exactly what she was doing and it was perfect
I've only ever tried the Victoria's Secret lip plumper (receieved as a gift years ago along with a set of glosses), but I didn't really notice a difference. I have a full "pouty" bottom lip, and if it were larger (or if my thinner upper lip were as full), people would think I'd had injections. So I'm not terribly interested in trying other brands, lol.
ive never had them work for me! ;/
I do believe Lip Fusion XL worked for me, but of course now it's discontinued. Bummer. ... Also, the Skinn Lip Party mask (leave on for 3 minutes) works.
i love the lipfusion one i got off hautelook cheap. Normal price they cost waaaay too much, but i think it does work
who loves makeup? me me ME!
Nah, I don't quite believe in them and I'm pretty happy with my lips. Up till now.

I don't know about this because I have never used a lip plumper.
I have full lips but have tried a few different lip plumpers just to add more pout - only one has worked.

I am not a fan of lip plumper although I tried a few with no noticeable results. I do not like overly minty/tingly lip products so that rules out quite a number of lip plumpers.

I have tried lip plumpers but I haven't like any of them. Either they don't work or the scent is too strong.
There use to be one from bath and body works that worked really really well, I think it was Patricia Wexler? I don't remember. Anyway, it burnt so much it kind of made you want to cry, this is maybe why I thought it worked. I'd rather just stick to regular gloss honestly.
I don't use plumpers too often because they are generally expensive and I don't like the tingly feeling. These are reasonably priced though so maybe I will give them a shot

love it!
I'm a huge fan of NYX! But yeah, I've never bothered with lip plumpers!
lip plumpers do nothing on me
I don't like lip plumpers :( Seems unnecessary.
xoxo
I'll have to keep my eye out for these, I want to try em!
My small upper lip would like to try this
Theyre always so expensive at the ulta near me!
lovely colors
never tried lip plumpers.
"I had an odd fear that it was like when you go to the dentist and get novacaine and if you talk or move too much you drool everywhere." i know this feeling with lip plumpers! its always hard to tel if these things work; the shine in them usually makes your lips look bigger anyhow. But good-to-know information in the review!
