NAPOLEON PERDIS! NP GLAM SET PALETTE REVIEW!
Meg here! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday week. It was a bit off, with the 4th being on a Wednesday. Friday arrived and I kind of felt like it was Tuesday. It's OK. I'm a little all over the place lately. I feel like I need one of those professional organizers to come in and unclutter my mind. Like, I remember the Magna Carta was signed in 1215 but don't ask what I walked into the kitchen for. For the love of God, I have no idea. oh yeah, where did I put my keys?
I haven't actually added up the years in my life that I've lost while "looking for something" but that's only because I can't find my damn calculator.
Napoleon Perdis is my friend. He's my friend because he's extraordinary and brilliant and kind. He also said I could offer a free Napoleon Perdis lipgloss to anyone that can get me a billionaire proposal. I mean, that's a true pal.
If I wasn't so lucky to know Napoleon personally I would still worship at his altar just based on his body of work. I think I may have introduced a few of you to his wonderful products. We have quite a few that have been and are currently being mailed out in Make Up Point Packs so if you haven't gotten a chance to try his creations... Get those points turned in!
I don't think Napoleon is unorganized in the slightest. I've been to his Hollywood corporate office (AMAZING) and his Academy (PRISTINE.) I just think Napoleon is some sort of psychic God that has the ability to trouble shoot and enrich the lives of everyday woman (sort of like a Super Hero-He totally should have been a character in The Avengers.)
Napoleon's NP GLAM SET is a timesaver for sure! A handy, multi product compact case with the most wearable selection of colors. The 4 brown/gold/mink colored hues in the eyeshadows are absolutely breathtaking in the most natural way. They're truly day-to-night and the most minimal color phobe would have nothing to worry about with this selection. I even use them on my brows. That said, if your more of a drama queen (who? Me) you can layer and build really dramatic looks. I can't think of any skintone that this would not work with.
I use the center (both shades) just the more red hue on the apples of my cheeks. Again, really flattering and perfect for the office.
The glosses on the end are all universally flattering (I usually abhor gloss palette's-why make me fall in love with 2 and have 2 stinkers in the set-ggrrr.) Thankfully, that's not the case here. The case? Sure, let's talk about it!
It weighs nothing, it doesn't take up a ton of room but is not so compact that I can't find it. All I need is my foundation, my liner and my mascara and my day look is done. Just like that. All in one place.
The roomie test? Well, I haven't asked Lisa BUT I DIDN'T ASK KRISTEN. She TOLD ME "I'm obsessed with that NP Palette! Those colors are awesome. I use it like, everday." We get A LOT of products to try over here and the roomies are becoming critics as tough as moi.
The stress of not being able to find something is only compounded when you don't know or remember what is was that you are actually looking for (I need to apply that to my dating habits.)
10 fabulous items all in a handy case for $24? I'm no Sally Struthers but that's just pennies a day. I'm also no Sarah McLachlan but I do love animals and now everytime I hear her song "Angel" I want to kill myself. I can't be the only one. Hello? Point being, if you break this down by product and by the time you're saving (if you believe time=money) then we all owe NP a heck of a lot more than $24.

This is a great palette and I am such a sucker for a good palette especially for travel. Although right now I am lusting after a Nars shadow duo which I hope looks better in the case than on the eye because those things are pricey.

I was one of the ladies that got this in the last points package shipment. I will agree that the eye shadows are really nice. I love the colors. Meg is right that they can go from an everyday soft look to something more dramatic. I feel the need to add an extra shadow for a highlight shade because none of these are really light enough for that (for me anyway). This will be a nice set of colors for me to have when school (aka: work) starts back up for me, and I want a quick look in the morning. I've only worn the blushes blended together, and it made a nice, summery color for the cheeks. I was excited to get these coarl colors because I don't wear them often, but they are trendy now, so it's a great addition to my collection. I completely disagree with Meg about the glosses though. I don't like them at all. The texture is really hard, and there isn't much color payoff. The top left one just looks like a bunch of shimmer on the lips without the sheen of something like the Liplicious or Philosophy glosses that prevents the gloss from screaming "I'm shimmery!!!" I think the palette would have been better off without the glosses and with a smaller price tag to match.
Totally agree with you - this is a good price point. I'm hoping that I got this palette in my Meg's box that is in transit currently! I've received other NP stuff from Meg, and I love it! The luminous lip veils, although pricey, are my all-time favorite glosses. They feel so awesome on the lips! And I have a palette of theirs with shadows, blushes and glosses, too. It pretty much rocks. Haven't been let down by Mr. Perdis yet! Fingers crossed more NP on the way!

I love this patette and the colors go perfect with my "natural" red hair. The one thing that stood out for me was the lip gloss, I love it. This is what's so great about the site, we all have different experiences with products. For Robinbird_22 not so much for her, but for me love. I thought it was real creamy and while the colors are light I think it's because it's a gloss. I applied it was a lip brush so was able to get a bit more color to pop on my lips. I'm going to take the palette the next time I go to Target to see if I can match one of the colors that I've fallen in love with. I was a little heavy handed with the blush this morning and after looking at myself in the mirror I started laughing! I looked like the little 80 year old lady that mans the polling booth at the neighborhood voting precinct. So word of caution, just a gentle tap into the blushes is plenty.For $27.00 you can't go wrong, that's cheaper than one lipstick can cost at some places. Thanks Meggie!!
I also got this set in my package from Meg (thanks!!). The shadows are pretty, but I agree with robinbird_22 that there is not much color payoff from the glosses.

I have never tried NP palatte before, but I really like the colors and would love to try them out. I love the fact that I could have a natural look for day, and add a little extra color to give a drastic night time look.

Not tried NP eyeshadows. These look great. But I do love the Protege lip glosses I have. Really nice.
I received this in my last package from Meg, and I love it! The only thing I don't use so much are the glosses. They are very light and wear off quickly, and this is not easy to carry in my purse, so I don't generally have the opportunity to reapply throughout the day. The eyeshadows are gorgeous...just enough shimmer to be pretty, and in conjunction with the neutral shades, they make for a fabulous natural day look. The blushes are both nice, and I didn't have any orangey shades prior to this, so I'm getting a lot of mileage out of them. This is a great little palette for anyone.

I've never tried any NP products, but from everything I've read on here they sound great! I'm personally not a fan of lip pots (I don't like being unsanitary and dipping my finger in (and then having to wipe my finger off on something), and I don't like to fuss with lip brushes), so I probably woudln't get much use out of this palette. However, I really love the look of the Lip Veils!

I like that all the colors are fairly neutral, which means I'd use it often. $24 for a palette that big is definitely a steal.
I got this too but haven't used it yet. I LOVE NP Lip Veils though, such pretty shades and wonderful staying power!
