SCOTCH NATURALS! I LIKE MINE ON THE ROCKS!-STUPID HUMOR FROM MEG! DEAL ALERT!!

Goddess Granny is henceforth naming this Summer 2012 as the "Summer I sat on my hands a lot!" I gave up my artificial acrylic nails a few weeks ago and let me tell you,it's been an eye-opening experience! I've worn the fakes for years on and off because my own nails simply aren't one of my more outstanding features but after hearing "So sorry" one too many times as the hastily-applied drill was burning my nails, nipping into my tender cuticles, and having the general feeling of nastiness no matter which salon I visited,I figured it might be time to try just ONE more time to grow a set of chic, short, healthy nails on my own…no small feat!
At first, my nails were literally jello-like: soft, uneven, and just plain unattractive.I tried to fake it with lots of filing and topical treatments, polish looked too amateur when I tried to apply on my own so kept them as light and clean and non-obvious as possible! THEN I got the bright idea (and many have great luck with the process and results!) of getting the new "gel polish" applied when I was in San Francisco and yes, they looked "better" for a couple of weeks until I had to remove the color: OMG…after soaking my hands in pure acetone and filing and buffing, my nails were yet again BURNING, swollen and red! Not thinking that pure-acetone for any length of time is my BFF? The UV light also caused me more burning and itching and I was left with hands than not only had regressed to the initial pathetic state but that also felt horrible…
I decided then and there that I would dedicate the entire Summer to the health of my hard-working nails and hands: I protect them with sunblock, treat kindly with creams, and am happy that my hands haven't yet let me down in the war against aging but my nails needed a break from all the chemicals and drilling, the harsh formulas of some polishes and that devil acetone for sure! I resigned myself to nightly warm olive-oil soaks and gentle chamois buffing and figured it was my punishment for falling prey to the lure of nail salons for so long!
Browsing "Country Living" magazine one afternoon in hopes of a paint inspiration for my guest room, I noticed a little article about "Scotch Naturals": in 2009, stay at home Mom, Ginny Cardenas' two young daughters loved to "dress up" like we all do but when Ginny actually noticed the ingredients of even "play" nail polish, she was appalled at the toxins and chemicals her sweet little girls were painting on their fingers so she designed a line of nail color for KIDS names "Hopscotch Kids" and using her MBA skills, was able to develop and market this niche-product with amazing results to many high-end kid's stores! She realized many adults were also impressed with her water-based, totally non-toxic shades and were buying them for themselves so her "Scotch Naturals" line of AMAZING natural nail colors and treatments was born!
An eco-friendly alternative to traditional nail color, Scotch Naturals is TOTALLY with the usual "3-free" ingredients but they're also without ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, have metals, they are gluten-free and vegan and contain no ACETONE and are TRULY non-toxic! What drew me in was the formula, which rivals the highest-end salon quality shades in 34 of the most stunning, original, outrageously-chic, and gorgeous colors I've even seen offered in a nail color! Everything about this nail color is elegant: the bottles are perfect, the brush is flawless, and again, the colors and formula are brilliant and make me WANT to take care of my tender nails in the best possible way by wearing only these shades! Application and removal is simple: buffing your nails with a drop of oil prior to application and taking a bit of time soak in warm water prior to removing without any irritation!
There is a non-toxic base and top coat as well and an amazing soy-based polish remover(will not affect those with soy allergies!) with no odor and nothing in it that can hurt you or the environment in any way! I promise you will go crazy over the color selection and I intend to stick with "Scotch Naturals" for the Summer and far beyond! There are plans on the drawing board for more products as well and I am giving Ginny a huge thumb's up/award for "New Product" in every way for really designing something that is "green and clean" but that ALSO will satisfy the most elite fashionista's among us! Mid-range when it comes to pricing and that works for me when some designer-shades are currently in the $25.00+ range!

I always have natural nails. I have never tried fakes or had a professional manicure of any kind. my nails are healthy, strong, and grow fast....bit I can't stand them being even the teeniest bit long and I clip them every week. I use cuticle nippers because they are so strong that nail clippers don't always cut through them, and I don't feel like they get them short enough. you'sld think that with healthy nails I'd have some sense of pride or at least take care of them, but I don't. my cuticles are horrendous, I never polish or buff...it's one thing I don't care much about. I have tons of polish but most of it just ends up on my toes because I at least keep those up. I might try thisbecause my biggest fear with painting my fingernails is that it doesn't allow them to breathe and will ruin the health of them....I love the idea of a chemical-free alternative...and the soy remover sounds incredible...I hate acetone polish removers because they dry my hands and nails out so badly. i'll check this line out as soon as I post this. thanks for letting us know about it! oh, and my grandmother said tat she was once told by a dermatologist that the best thing to strengthen her nails and help them grow was to buff them daily with a buffing cream. i'm too lazy to try it, though...

I just got a mani today. I love having my nails "done". I can usually keep the polish on in decent condition for about 9-10 days then I do up to 2 weeks without. My real nails are strong and grow fast so I have never needed to apply tips. The gel option is really intriguing because I am hard on my hands - pilates instructors are constantly changing springs, moving equipment around, spotting clients, saving clients from flying off the equipment, etc - but I hate the idea of the removal process. And I LOVE using the new colors that come out every season. Give me a natural polish that has shine, staying power and lots of color options and I will try it.
I have real nails. I have a Indy polish on now and have been loving them. I am curious the wear power on this though..
My nails are natural but I do take very good care of them and every now and then people ask me if they are real or fake. At the moment they are squareshaped but sometimes I shape them rounded. Depends on my mood. I always shape or shorten my nails with a glass file. I polish my nails a couple times a week and use good handcreams every day and also cuticle oils or balms. I have many nail polishes but haven't tried a water-based nail polish yet. Have started to hear more about them so will definitely try one soon. Very curious about them!
My nails are natural, square shape with rounded edges
My nails are in pretty good condition now. I keep my nails short as I can't type or write with long nails. They don't break that easily now. I have never had arcylic nails or used gel polish though.Scotch Naturals' colors are pretty! Paisey Martini is goregeous! The deal sounds fantastic, too bad I can't take advantage since I'm not in US. The brand is available in Singapore though, at a premium as usual. Hope they do sales. :)
wow...I love this color :)
My nails are natural. I always polish my toenails during "sandal season" but usually keep my fingers bare 'cause polish won't stay on them! I'd say they're in pretty good shape.
My nails look terrible at the moment. I really don't know what to do with them. My nail bed is wide and short, and the white part of my nails is irregular. They're thick and they just look awful every time I try to put some nail varnish on :( These Scotch nail varnishes look amazing though! The shades are so beautiful!
I haven't had fake nails since I was in my early 20s. Growing my own nails isn't actually that hard *if* I use a buffer block every couple of weeks to smooth them down so they don't split and I apply cuticle cream or oil religiously. Right now they're short because I cut them down while on vacation a couple of weeks ago, but they'll grow again.
Haven't tried acryllics or gels, but try to keep my nails polished. Mine tend to be kinda thin and peely, so I find that polish helps keep them from peeling or cracking... Need a fresh coat right now... Maybe later today. My favorite thing: a quick-dry top coat. As a mamma, it's a must have. Otherwise I'm always wrecking my manicure!

My nails are short and natural. I wash my hands a lot, and that makes nail polishes cheap rather quickly. I just saw commercials for gel polish the other night. The ones that are being sold at CVS. I'd like to try that.
My nails grow like weeds and they are very thick and strong. I keep them long and have to keep cutting them down so they dont get stuck in the keyboard. lol I like the gel polish because it lasts so long, I don't do much to my nails except keep them in shape. I LOVE this color advertised, perfect for Summer!

I tried the gel and think it fried my nails. Just bought some nail hardener and have been applying that daily and I think it's helped.
I'm still trying to grow out my nails, I should be going in for a spa/Gelish manicure soon so I am excited to try it out!
I love my nails. They are one of my best features. They are natural, I never have had acrylics or gels. I do keep them polished, they don't break as easy that way. I have a squoval shape. I always do my own mani's and pedi's.

beautiful color....
I too had "acrylic-nails" for several years, then I decided to stop the acrylic-nail merry-go-round and...go "natural". It too a little while and now my nails look nice and they're healthy, thats the key thing, my nails are healthy. I'm excited to try this nail polish, i laways love the look of the acrylic nails and polish would last sooo long! I rarely used nail polish because i cannot get the look I desire. maybe with the "Scotch" naturalu I can acheive the look I desire.

I have natural long nails painted with Zoya (amazing nailpolish btw!)
Mine are rounded at the moment.
Gorgeous color. I paint my natural nails, no acrylics for me!
In-need-of-cutting shape? :P
I'm not actually that good at looking after my nailsabout apart from a little cracking and/or splitting, they are pretty good. Am are with a little extra care, they could bebetter but I'm quite happy with them. But I am really interested to hear about this brand as I have a 5 year old daughter who be communing increasingly interested in all things makeup. Will definitely be checking this brand out.
I take really good care of my nails generally. I have a 3 sided buffer that I use every week or two and I keep them moisturized with oil. I love that this brand is natural and non toxic. When I wear polish often I can tell it just takes all the health away from my nails and they start splitting and cracking, so I will give them a rest in between polish and just buff them or use Sally Hansen Nail Growth to keep them strong.

I used to have acrylics for a long time but took them off about a year ago. They were REALLLY bad for months. They were so soft they bent backwards and my cuticles were tragic! I tried every nail hardener on the market but the only one that worked for me was the Revlon one. My nails are better now but still not back to their original health. I won't leave acrylics on for more than a week now! Not worth it!
Awesome color.
that is such a YUMMY colour :D
I have natural nails, I never really put any color on them. I stick to clear nail polish or none at all. They're nice and healthy as well. :D
I have pink and white acryllics and haven't been without them in years. I love not having to worry about doing my own nails. Plus, my natural nails grow crooked and I never could get them shaped the right way.
GORGEOUS. Though they are more expensive than the nail polish I usually buy, I'm definitely picking some up for my aunties. They always look chic, but they have had bad reactions to nail polish recently.
Love the color!! I have short nails too. I'm so done with artificial nails. I paint my nails everyday now, I'm hooked! =/
I bite my nails. Ugh. but I love that color!
So beautiful
looks promising
Omg i want to try this. Jello feeling? heck yes i want to try these!
