WET 'N WILD! MEGA SHIELD LIP COLOR SPF 15!

Stacy B here! In the past 5 or so years, I think I've been to more than 25 weddings. There was a time in our late 20s when my husband and I (we were one of the first of all our friends to tie the knot) had five to seven invites a year. At first we tried to get to them all but we had to cut down our wedding travel and overnight stays as we got older, bought a house and had kids. Plus, a new dress, shoes and accessories per wedding were getting expensive! And yes, I HAD to get a new outfit each time, they were usually the same circle of friends invited, I couldn't repeat!
Of course we made it to all the local ones and last weekend was no exception. We had a great time, got out and away from the kids for a night (thanks Mom and Dad!) and got to see a lot of good friends who we hadn't seen since before the baby was born in April. Since I wasn't going to buy a new dress that won't fit as soon as the rest of the baby weight is gone, I splurged on some new makeup. And by splurge, you know I mean drugstore buys with coupons. Like under $10 total.
Thank you again, Wet n Wild for your product makeover without the price hike. I bought myself a really nice peach-y brown neutral lip color, Mega Shield Lip Color Spf 15 -in Peachy Keen. For only $3!
I know, I know, sometimes you get what you pay for. This is not a miracle stick. It will not last for days, create the perfect Angelina pout, get all your drinks paid for, or even last through dinner. But, it was $3. It promised to 'glide on buttery-soft'', deliever moderate coverage, and condition with Vitamin E, amino acids, avocado oil, and rice bran oil. It did all three, so I was happy. It was like I paid $1 for each claim.
It did go on really smoothly and blended perfectly with my gloss. It was not chalky or heavy and felt more gloss-like than a heavy lipstick. The color was perfect and the pigment was just right. On my lips the color looked just like the stick so I know now that if I buy another color, I won't have to debate in the store whether or not the color will be the true when I get it home.
It did not dry out my lips at all and I had no flaking or smudging. I can't speak to the SPF-ness of it, but I'm not one to wear lipstick to the beach so I'd be OK with whatever's in there.
The only gripe I have is that it promises to last for hours...not so much. I barely got through the cocktail hour before I knew I had to reapply. And then again after dinner. But, that's not a big deal to me. After a few open bar cocktails, I usually have to go to the bathroom a few times anyway, so a little touch up is not a nuisance at all. I loved the color so I accept that trade off.
I also didn't worry about losing it, or dropping it out of my bag and getting it stepped on or something since it only cost $3. It was perfectly within my budget, did it's job fairly well and only added to my growing admiration of Wet n Wild's new transformation. We have yet another wedding in September and I'm sure I'll be shopping for the perfect fall color by then!

Wet n Wild has been getting a lot of love from Megsmakeup lately! Unfortunately I'm not a lipstick girl, but I am wanting to try a few things from this company.
Wet n Wild is really proving its worth in the drugstores! I've been so impressed with their products lately.
Good brand, great deal!
Nice color
The colour looks nice, but God.. the packaging is awful! It reminds me of a tire!!
^That comment is hilarious! I was just going to say that I love the packaging! I like that it's all black and grippy. But francivusk is absolutely right!!! It does remind me of a tire, too! haha. I will have to give these a try the next time I'm near a WnW display. So impressed still with their eyeshadows, and I know their nailpolishes are gettin' a good amount of love too! Anyway, I still kinda like the packaging, but yup, kinda like tire tread, I'll admit it!

I don't really wear lipstick (I feel strangely conspicuous in thick/opaque lip products), but I have a couple in colors that I couldn't live without. For $3, those are worth having one or two on hand! I've been on the hunt for a particular shade of peach lip product that isn't orange or pink (so far no luck), so a neutral peachy brown might be what I need to mix with my pink lips and give me the perfect peach! And lol, as soon as I saw it I thought it looked really utilitarian.. it really does look like a tire!
I love coming out of the drugstore with a new and inexpensive cosmetic product. And I absolutely love the Revlon Just Bitten Stains that were reviewed last week. I bought three of them and I found that one was just about "nude" for my lips. I really don't think they stay on half as long as promised, but I don't care. I like the concept and I feel "finished". The Wet n' Wild packaging is really cool, but that is all I like about the product. But you can own every shade you want and not break the bank. And when a new outfit or shoes isn't in the budget, a $3 lip stick can really make the difference in how you feel about yourself.

ooh Peachy Keen looks like a color that would be a staple in my lippie rotation. I like that it has SPF and and is moisturizing; those two are more important to me than long-wearing. Thanks for the review! WnW from junior high school totally dried out my lips so I wouldn't think to try them again if not for this review!
I like the packaging - is it recycled tires? That would be a really cool idea
I don't care too much for many lipsticksbut this sounds good enough to try.

Wet N Wild really seems to be stepping up it's game lately.
I love, love, love WnW. Their shadows and blushes are pretty darn amazing.
That's a pretty color. I have a few of their lipstick in the old formula, and they really aren't bad for the price.
Wet and Wild is something I should be trying. I do not wear lipstick though.
Love that color but I tend to buy the same color over and over again. I see the old wet and wild color I wore and now crindge)
I was just wondering where to find a lipstick with spf! Really really hope they sell this over here in Finland! And hope they have it in coral. I am going to a wedding at the end of this month, haven't found the perfect dress yet but already got new shoes and a new clutch and they are coral so I think I will want a lipstick in coral too. Thanks for the review :)
They revamped their packaging? looks nice.
I want to try this!
I might pick one of these up....big fan of sheer lipcolors...I have so many lipsticks and pencils and glosses right now, though...and I tend to get exactly the same color in all: nude. with something this reasonable, I could afford to branch out and not be afraid that I will hate the color and waste too much money. it's hard to try new shades that you're unsure of when you're paying $25-$30 per item.

Gotta try!
Wet 'n Wild has really been upping their game in the last couple of years! For $3 & all the good stuff listed on the ingredient list, I will try at least one of these. Great that they have SPF too! At that price point I can try a color that is out of my comfort zone, if it doesn't work - it's not a huge loss.
Only $3!

I love the packaging for this new lip color! Not a fan of the chemicals in SPF as I always I get a huge allergic reaction but this would've been great without it!

This looks awesome!
I love ds lippies!

I got this in my latest package and LOVE IT! I did some ingredients research and decided that even though I don't know what some ingredients in this are, there are none I know make me break out as of now, so I chanced it. The color payoff is great and it really does feel nice. I haven't tested it long-term though since I've only worn it when I feel like playing with it after work and keep forgetting to grab it in the morning. If I don't reach to it though I want one in every color! It doesn't feel heavy or greasy or lipstick-y at all.
One more lipstick I want to buy right away....to add to my pile of lipsticks...I now have 2 drawers full of 'em.
love lipstick... makes any day a better day!
Oh how I LOVE lipstick!! Wet & Wild is one of my favs!! I hear that "Peach" is the "in color" and for under $10 I'm happy as can be!!

This range has a great selection of colours! Too bad I have to get them off the internet only
Lip stuff never seems to work for me. Boo.
Wet n' Wild has some surprisingly good stuff for a great price. Thanks for recommending this product!
I am really liking Wet n Wild products. The packaging of this lipstick looks really smart. A steal for $3!
heard good things about it
$3 for such a pretty colour? That's a great steal! :)
$3!!?? And a really pretty color!
I love W&W products. Their eyeshadow palletes are great, too.
I love Wet n wild! I'm so happy that I've just found a place that sells wnw in my town in Sweden!Love!!! <3
Awsome pink color, naturally I hate pink but this looks good!
This looks nice. Lipsticks tend to make my lips peel, so I look for sheer formulas that don't clump up in the dry skin. This looks like it will fit the bill. Lovely color too!
serious packaging for a bubblegum pink color haha
it sounds like a good way to keep the lips nice and avoid dry cracked lips
Wet n' Wild products are pretty amazing, theyre inexpensive and offer a rather good payoff. That color is so cute, I'll be adding it to my list!
So pretty! I havent seen any new WnW products in my Rite Aids and CVS around me
love this color, and for that price, you cant even argue if its not everything and you wanted and more. from your review though, doesnt sound terrible
