WET 'N WILD! MEGALAST NAIL POLISH!

Stacy B here! Some things just bring you straight back to your childhood, like when I bought Mr. Bubble bubble bath for my son a few months ago. I knew I used it when I was little but the second I opened it up and smelled it, I was immediately 6 or 7 years old and back in my tub at my parents house playing in the bubbles. We didn't get bubbles every time, only when we had time to play, so these bubbles meant a lot to my childhood self! I think I need a retro Mr. Bubble T-shirt or something.
I'm sure you all have something like that that brings you right back to a certain place, time or situation. It could be the smell of a product, the tune of a toy or just a memory of using something that stuck in your head as a significant moment. When I was in second grade, I wanted a beauty birthday party, which consisted of some cheap make up, dress up clothes, my mom's heels and nail polish. Wet 'n Wild make up to be specific. We had so much fun dressing up like grown up ladies and putting make up on each other. My mom had bought several glitter nail polishes and I LOVED them. I layered them on top of each other to get the max glitter effect (huh, even as a child I knew how fun layering products can be!) and kept redoing them over and over.
I kept those bottles for so long. I'm sure they were totally dried up after a while, but I just couldn't let go. Then I started getting older and I grew out of Wet 'n Wild products. They always seemed sort of like a starter kit for make up. Good for young, inexperienced make up experimenters with little money. I think everything was $1 or something. I graduated to the expensive stuff and left Wet 'n Wild to the younger girls.
Until now. Enter new Wet 'n Wild Megalast Nail Polish. Wet 'n Wild grew up a bit and got a make over!
These colors are great and they are so cheap, you can't not buy them, there's no risk! Prices vary by store but I looked around and didn't see any listed for more than $3 in my area. Totally worth it.
I tried a really cute light purple-taupe color called Bite the Bullet. I skipped the base coat, I am still home taking care of a newborn so it's not like I have an hour to dry multiple layers of polish! I used two coats and it went on thick, smooth and even. If you've seen or tried Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure polishes (at $8-10 each!), this is the poor man's version. Or in my case, the poor mom's version...diapers are expensive!!
The best part about this is the brush. It's just like the Sally Hansen one, very thick, soft bristles and the spread out really well. For some of my nails I only needed one swipe because the brush spread out and covered the whole nail. That shaved a few seconds off each finger for me, worth it when my little guy still eats every 2 hours or so and I never know how long his naps will be or when he'll need a diaper change.
It's been 4 full days and I don't have one single chip, bubble or streak. It doesn't say if there's a built in top coat, so I put a clear coat on after day 2 and I think that bought me another few days. The website claims 5 days of chip free polish and I'm almost there.
The way I see it, the only difference between this and Sally Hansen is the price. The color selection is decent, the brush is great, they last as long as they say they will and they are toluene, phthalate, and formaldehyde free.
I'm so proud of Wet 'n Wild, they've really grown up! I can't believe that 25 years later, I'm using Wet 'n Wild nail polish again. If only they had those glitter colors from the mid 80s...

I like these too - great for when you can't get to a manicure but want your nails to look nice.
I'm wearing this polish now and painted my nails on Monday. Only the tips have started chipping slightly, but this is the longest wearing polish I have in my collection right now! I love it! http://www.sassychic.me
I haven't tried wet'n'wiild polishes in some years, but even way back i thought they were great for the price and had a quirky and fun color selection before other brands caught on to the craze...this will fit right in with my new budget-oriented strategy for beauty products. I also love their eye shadows...a lot of color payoff for so cheap!

Wow, that's an amazing review! I'll have to give these a try. I have the same memories of using them when I was a kid, too. My little sister and I had one WnW bottle of polish that was light pink and one that was dark pink. We'd paint our nails like crazy with 'em! We'd do stripes or spots, etc. Ah, childhood...... On a separate note I remember having a bottle of peel-off nail polish, too. What kind of an idea is that?! Nailpolish that's just not meant to stick at all? Anyways, good job WnW!

Oh, yeah, I also LOVE their eyeshadows too. The trio in Walking On Eggshells is AMAZING -- like a little mini-Naked palette iMO.

that description has me sold! i'll have to pick that up soon. my favorite is their shadow in 'brulee'...it's a perfect dupe for MAC's shroom shade. a great neutral nude for almost every look imaginable.

Wet n Wild sure has gone through an amazing transformation, haven't they? Used to be a really cheap company in every sense of the word, but now it's higher quality and still affordable prices.
I haven't tried this polish; I've put myself on a polish no-buy. I've got like 20 bottles I have yet to crack open

I bought some Wet'n Wild nail polishes around February when Rite Aid had some of them on clearance. I also bought a L'Oreal nailpolish. I tested all the colors on my hand, and I believe the L'Oreal one was the first to chip. Their matte lipsticks are not bad for the price, too!
I have never used Wet n Wild polishes, but thay sound great
Looks great

I really like these too and you said it - the cheaper version of Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure. The brush is almost identical. I have "Undercover" which is a nice combination of nude and mauve - just enough color not to disappear against my skin tone. Thanks for the great review.
I remember also growing up with wet n wild, but as i remember, the nail polishes were garbage, always chipping and never lasting more then a day. Hopefuly these new ones have a better formula!
I bought one of these recently for an art project. But their actually very nice for the price.
OMG i NEED THAT polish AND THAT color, i have a few polishes of wet n wild, because some of there colors are great. Im getting this one for sure.
I went nuts in Hong Kong looking for Chanel May which is a very pretty pink. I have never had a Chanel polish peel and chip so quickly. I have a L'Oreal aquamarine on my toes and it is holding up just fine. The price on the Wet n'Wild makes it easy to change up colors frequently. I haven't tried anything fromate new and improved line. I am dying to try the blue Essie that just came out. I see a trip to Ulta in my future.
Such a great color!!! iam trying to get back in to nail polish!! was never really great at applying it though!! shame!
i love all the variety of colors www have, also so cheap, often on sale. Sinful colors have some nice neon ones I've been rocking lately too.
who loves makeup? me me ME!
I've never tried these, but I've heard many good things about them :)
I have 5 of these! I love them!! I got a weeks worth of wear with SV topcoat. I also got lots of compliments ont he dark purple on my toes (forgot the name).

Wet N Wild has a lot fun colors, and for so cheap! I used their black and white nail polish one year for painting a mask that was part of a Halloween Costume, so they actually have multiple uses too :)

Sounds great. I am going to go and get some today. Thanks.
I have never used Wet n Wild polishes
I'm back to my no nail polish days... just don't have the patience to maintain my nails... the polish look nice though..
I really like that color.
I like their polish also because they have a good selection of colors.. it helps if you put a base and a top coat over the color to make it last longer

I enforced a no-new-polish rule on myself until I make a dent (finish/throw out/donate) in my massive collection.. but teal is my favorite color so I might have to make an exception! I have a couple of wnw polishes and I don't notice a difference in performance than some of the more expensive brands. Plus being Big-3 Free gives them a huge advantage over some of those brands as well!
i still have some of these. Very good
This looks like a good option to try out nail polish colours that I usually won't dare to.
I have a few Wet n Wild polishes, and they wear well on me. No complaints!
I mostly use Wet & wild nail polish on mt toes, for some reason it (the polish) last much longer on my toes! When I use it on my fingers I get only a few days of polish before it begins chipping. O-well, my toes always look nice! Now that summer and sandles are upon us I am ready to rock those new Vogue colors!

I really love how Wet n Wild have been stepping it up in the last year or so, their eyeshadows are amazing and their polishes are following up in those footsteps too!
I haven't tried the nail polish, but WnW has been impressing me lately. I never thought I would be using their products as an adult.
I keep hearing how Wet n Wild has some great products, which is surprising considering how inexpensive they are. I'm going to have to check them out next time I am at the drugstore.
Cool!

These really do last, although I think some colors are better than others! I can't believe how they held up over a weekend of gardening & housework. The darker colors seem to work better. I appreciate these Wet n Wild reviews because it is fun to experiment with this brand--tho you can get left with a drawer full of dud products if you're not careful
Since I only paint my toenails, I tend to gravitate towards cheaper nail polish brands. I've gotten quite a few WnW and Spoiled (same company) polishes over the last month or so. I love them. I have had a few problems with the creams because they go on so thick that they seem to want to peel off. I solved that problem by being more careful than I typically am with applying so I get a thinner coat to begin with.
Gelish does it for me
Like others have mentioned, Wet 'n Wild has really upped its game in the last couple of years. I haven't tried any of the polishes. I need to make a bigger dent in my current collection before I add any more! Absolutely love the turquoise color above though!
beautiful color-cant wait to try it.
would love to try this color on my nails...
would love to try this color on my nails...
I like this product. I've tried it before.
I have to get this color, it is so pretty...and I know the price is reasonable.

Sounds great. I'm a SH fan, so if you're comparing the WnW to that, I think I would love it!
OH, I ish they had it here...
i love this brand
ever since I first found Wet n Wild products I've been hooked! Now all their super colors lets me get all sorts of wild with my nail color!

How well does this brand nail polish work with Konad or Similar Stamping Plates?
Roarrr I can't wait to finish my current supply of nail polishes and get new ones! :P
