KOH GEN DO! AQUA FOUNDATION!

Where did May go? Seriously Goddess Granny here feeling like I blinked and it's now almost Memorial Day! I guess it's been a "good Spring" but it honestly feels like it's all becoming one big blurry-balll that is rolling at a rapid pace and I'm trying to run behind it in my stilettos! Everyone I know seems to be feeling the same way as well as the stress and I'm not sure when it all even got this way but I'm trying to roll along with it as long as I can…traveling a lot which is always hard because "they" have made it that way and not eating in my zone or getting in my workouts also tends to ruffle my feathers a bit.
I keep saying I'm going to "downsize" and AM trying but the more I want to do, the more "stuff" it seems to require. Every class or hobby or self-entertainment project I indulge in "needs" something to insure I'm properly outfitted and prepared to make it happen! I have a drawer for yoga-wear, a drawer for burlesque-ensembles (my alter-ego hobby) a drawer for dance and sporty fitness wear, and a closet that I like to think has what I need at this point to keep me dressed in style for most situations and climates! Add my overflowing vanity and various drawers of cosmetics and products, my hair and nail accessories, the pile of bling real and faux on my dresser that is my finishing touch and I'm STILL underwater when it comes to my "stuff…" Something has to give.
I have, however finally discovered a product that has yet to let me down: I can be exhausted, over-heated, or stressed to the max and this luscious liquid transforms my face into a glowing, smooth, canvas in minutes: Koh Gen Do "Aqua Foundation" is my new right-hand product and it's truly one that's worth a million! For 25 years, this company has produced an incredibly pure and ridiculously effective line of GORGEOUS products that until now, were only available to "insiders" of the movie-biz or those in the inner circles of beauty! Founded 25 years ago by Ai Saotone,an actress who needed to preserve and protect her own stressed and overworked sensitive skin, the Koh Gen Do brand has been the darling of THE finest makeup artists in the world for years! Recently the line has expanded and made available to all and we can also now share in the secret that's been behind the most notable and beautiful faces in over 200 films! Using herbal medicinal treatments and leaving out any fragrance or harsh ingredients, this HD foundation manages to provide THE most amazing skin-finish even though it's 45% water!
Fragrance-free, with no parabens, sulfates, synthetics, GMO's, or other things that we love to hate, this foundation diffuses light and covers like a dream. It manages to look like skin because it blends with your skin so well, and truly nourishes while you wear it with ingredients like sea water, minerals, and white birch. This is NOT a "typical" foundation and trust me, I've been on the quest for my HG foundation my entire life: Koh Gen Do is the gold standard for me with a beautiful and believable color-range of shades that illuminate and enhance yet manage to simply look like…well…skin! For point of reference, I am an NC-25/30 in MAC and wear the BE-1 shade which is absolute perfection on my "neutral toned" fair skin! It slides on and from the first pump and application, you know you have hit the big time in product-perfection! A small amount literally provides a poreless porcelain finish and it's truly the best foundation I have ever used…I plan to indulge in many more items in the line and from all I've heard, that are all simply fantastic and worth EVERY penny!
You can buy some of the Koh Gen Do Line at Sephora online.
Also the elegant Koh Gen Do site provides a wealth of information and shoot them an email if you have color-matching questions:
They also are very generous about providing samples with purchase and have specials every month…I have been using this for a few months but the word is OUT (check out the "media" segment of their website) and everyone is buzzing about this brand and especially about this breathtaking foundation! I believe that your "canvas" simply MUST be perfect or nothing else you apply will look great so I'm thrilled to have discovered a foundation that effortlessly makes my sensitive and moody skin look perfect even when it's not!
Do you also rely on great foundation everyday to set the stage?Koh Gen Do has my devotion and thanks for creating this GREAT "Aqua Foundation! "

Another Great GG review (GGG is how I refer to her) and another product that I want to try. I don't wear foundation frequently. I am a fitness instructor so my AM routine invovles a lot less than many women. Good and bad. I really love makeup, but sweating if off while the clients watch is just ugly. I do believe that the perfection of the "canvas" is essential as GG says. I have been using Clinique's Beauty Balm which I like, but do not love because to get the look right I need a either Dr. Brandt's Pores No More underneath it or a primer as well as a bit of gel bronzer mixed with it because it is just so fair, even in the darker color. I like the coverage more than a tinted moisturizer provides, but I like the ease of a tinted moisturizer.
now i'm intrigued....a few months ago I received a sample of koh gen do makeup remover towelettes in my birchbox...I wasn't blown over by them, bit they weren't bad, either...and it's hard for me to base my opi brand on such a product because it's not something I use regularly or have much of a need for. in my research of the brand, though, I read some really fantastic things...and this was one of the products that piqued my interest most. I am totally in love with my tarte smooth operator tinted moisturizer, but of course there are days I would like more coverage or a more done-up look for a special occasion....I have skin that tends on the dry side andrew generally love water-based foundations...i'll have to sample this next time I head to sephora...thanks for the review!

I currently use Tarte's Amazonian Clay foundation which I really like but has pretty light coverage. I am thinking about trying some new brands once that runs out. It's hard for me to find a perfect match for my skin (light, cool complexion) so I definitely want to sample it in store before I order it. Thanks for the review!

This looks like a lovely and luxurious product but I probably wouldn't spring $62 on a foundation right now even though I know good products are worth the money and a bottle of foundation lasts at least 6 months.
I'm glad to see that it's a cruelty-free brand, too
Sounds like a great foundation! but 62$ is way over my budget for foundation
Sounds great, but I have been using Guerlain's Parure, which sounds very similar, and love it. It provides great coverage but doesn't feel makeupy.
I currently use a bb cream called missha perfect cover, and am loving it, i am unlikely to change things up as my skin is so settled at the moment.. except for today, thanks hormones!
who loves makeup? me me ME!
I have never heard of this brand before, but I'm pretty intrigued by your review!
I always feel "naked" without my foundation creating the canvas. I start with my mmu everyday.

I haven't tried KGD's aqua foundation, but I am familiar with some of their other products. I used, and intensely disliked, the triple lighting foundation, which is their powder foundation version. It was cakey and oxidized, horribly. KGD's color range is extremely limited and tends to run very yellow in hue. I did really like their Maifanshi Natural Lighting Powder, their lipsticks, and most of their skincare products. IMO, it's a good line, but not suitable for everyone.
Wow, sounds like reviews so far are varied. Glad it worked for you, though. I'm probably not going to give it a go since the price tag is super high, in my opinion. I'm really enjoying a "deluxe" sample I have of Missha BB cream, and on other days I'm still enjoying my Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation and my Everyday Minerals Base as a "setting" powder. My go to...

I love mineral foundationbs because they don't clog my pores
This has piqued my interest!

I use urban decay and i love it!
At my age you have to use foundation. Lots of blemishs.
I have not heard of this brand. It sounds fantastic!
I've been wanting to try this for a while, but it's just so expensive.
Sounds great! I believe foundation is important because you need a good canvas to start off with. Would like to try this.

I have to admit I probably wouldn't have glanced at this foundation more than once just because of the super high price. However, everything about it sounds really great, I'm intrigued enough to check it out the next time I'm at Sephora. If I'm ever able to find a foundation that fits my many needs (cruelty-free, vegan*, as natural as possible, doesn't accentuate my dehdrated skin, light enough for my ghostly self without being pink), I would probably suck it up and plunk down the money for it. For any other makeup product I wouldn't even consider it, but foundation is the one item I'd splurge on if it was really worth it. *Not everything I use is entirely vegan, but for something I'm spending a lot of money on, it needs to be.
I agree that a great foundation makes everything seem better. I've been using a mineral foundation for some time and think it works well for me.
Meow Cosmetics mineral foundation for me!
I've never heard of this brand before! The foundation sounds lovely but out of my price range.
Buing foundations, particularly offline, is scary for me because I have a hard time finding colors light enough. Nars Siberia is a perfect match for me (excpet for right now since I have a little bit of a tan). I can't see ordering a $62 foundation online not knowing if it would match. I've also decided to stick with what I have for foundations. I have several at the moment, and I'll probably stick with Nars Sheer Matte once I work through what I have. It matches me and looks good.
Too expensive for me. I just use UD tinted moisturizer and set it with translucent powder. I'm trying to change it up, but haven't found the right beauty balm.
I keep swapping between foundations hoping to find something that does not melt on me
Cute name.
a little to expensive for me at the moment... but would love to try it..
This seem like a really good foundation...would love to try it, but so expensive. I used Make Up Forever HD foundation which is very nice and match my skin tone perfectly!
