MAYBELLINE! DREAM BOUNCY BLUSH!

Stacy B here! Thanks so much to everyone for your comments about little Wesley. He's great! He's growing and eating and sleeping like crazy. We've gotten really lucky and he eats around 10 pm, then 2 am and then 5:30 am which is when my husband gets up for work so we've been trading off. That means that just about every other night, we're getting decent sleep!
I was also happy to see that no one criticized me for bringing make up to the hospital. There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel like yourself after such a huge, life changing, amazing event! It was more about feeling like 'me' again than trying to impress anyone. I mean come on, I popped a kid out in less than 5 hours, that's impressive enough! :)
I can't say I've worn make up consistently in the last two weeks though...caring for a newborn (even a good one like we have) is a lot more time consuming than you think. Somedays it's lunch and I'm starving and I can't figure out what I've done for 3 hours! But the baby is clean, fed and happy so that's all that matters. I've started venturing out a bit: grocery stores, Babies R Us, drugstores, etc, so I've made an effort to try and shower each day, even if I don't wash and dry my hair.
Quick products are essential now; as much as Wesley loves hearing the water of the shower, I can't let the poor kid nap on the bathroom floor all morning! I have been on such a roll with Maybelline, I went for their new Dream Bouncy Blush hoping it would be a great way to get some quick color on my cheeks.
This is not the post-partum hormones talking here...I didn't like it. It's... weird. Great description, I know. It's an odd consistency, like play-doh or something. I've never really liked any cream blush or shadows, I don't feel like I get them on right. I also don't like using my fingers to apply stuff too much. I worry that finger oils and bacteria will get into the make up and then on my face causing rashes or acne or something like that. I'm more comfortable with a brush I can wash regularly.
When I used a very light touch, I didn't get much color. But when I pressed down harder, I got WAY too much and it got all goopy on my face. It is strangely bouncy, like the name suggests, so it's hard to get the right amount because it has a give to it when you try to swipe some on your finger. And, I never knew if I was seeing color on my cheeks from the product, or from my own rubbing. It didn't feel too oily, like some creams can, but it was still heavier than I like, and heavier than my normal powder bronzer or blush.
As much as I've loved all of the new Maybelline stuff this season, this was not a winner for me. I'd like to try their Mineral Power Bronzer instead. That is more up my alley. But until then, I'm OK with little to no make up while I snuggle with my tiny little man!
Have any of you ever tried Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush? Did any of you have better luck than I?

I didn't like it either. It was hard to get color on the cheeks because it was so sheer and just the product was weird. I threw it away.
I haven't tried this blush yet. I've read very mixed reviews on it, but most seem to agree that it's too sheer.
I haven't tried this one. My last experience with a Maybelline Cream Blush was with the Dream Matte Mouse collection, which was just ok. I never finished the pot and wound up throwing it out. It had a weird texture that I didn't like and didn't blend very evenly. I also don't like applying products with my fingers, not even lipgloss. It's just messy and I also worry about bacteria. I will stick with my amazing Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes that Meg introduced me too. They are so good I haven't really used any other blushes since I got them!

Tried the testers in the store. This has tonnes of silicones so skip.

I meant to try this but haven't been out shopping. think I will save myself the hassle with this. thanks for your review!
I have a Laura Geller cream blush that I really like. But I don't find a cream blush to be a quick or easy alternative to powder blush. I don't worry about bacteria because I wash my hands before using it. I do prefer a stick blush when I need some quick color and my two go to products are Josie Maran and Nars. The Nars product comes in so many colors you can bronze, hi-light, blush, even use as. lip product in a pinch.
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't try it but now I won't have too! :)

this review did nothing to change my initial feelings upon hearing about this product..."absurd" is what comes to mind. sure, bouncy sounds fun and all....but is it really an attractive description for a cosmetic product? thanks for letting us know about its quirks...otherwise I may have finally given in to it sheerly for the chance to play with it.

Thanks for the honest review! Honestly, a "bouncy" blush just sounds weird to me. I like my powder blushes, haven't ever tried antyhing else- like cream blushes- because I'm afraid they'll take off my foundation.
I have one of these and I love it, but the ONLY way I apply it is with my clean fingers. it's pretty sheer though. But I kinda like that because it is buildable, and I'm not turning into a clown TOO fast! haha

I think this was in one of Meg's packages, and I tried it once and tossed it. I'm just not into the creamy blush.
For some reason i cant use creamy blushes, because i always have a layer of powder foundation on my face does anyone know how i can use cream blush on top of powder without it messing up?
I usually avoid cream blushes as I don't like appplying makeup with my figners and it takes a little more effort to use a brush with cream blushes. I've tried the Maybelline blush and I think it's just average, not one of their better products.
I'm really curious to try this!
I love Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush :)
I have never tried it, sounds weird. I stick to my mineral blushes!
wonder if it dries out quickly, probably.
who loves makeup? me me ME!
never tried this product but I have heard many negative reviews on it, so I dont think I will be trying this product
I agree with Stacy B, I am not a fan of this. I tried it and the texture was weird and color wasn't consistent. I love a bargain but this one wasn't worth it.
I love that color of pink for a blush, so pretty.
I received this in one of meg's packages. It is "okay", I like both cream and powder blushes so maybe that is why this is more tolerable for me. You have to put it on with a light hand and build it up gradually or you will look like a clown.

Weird product name, LOL.
I have a few of these. I like them. I'm super pale, so sheer works for me. I'll admit too that I enjoy the "bouncy" texture. I tend to want to play with it before I apply it. I can understand how a lot of people wouldn't particularly care for them though. Darker skintones would have a hard time getting most of the colors to show up.
i can not figure out how to use cream blush right myself
Never liked cream blushes-they never stay put...
perfect for summer!
I have this blush, and i ight say that i haate it. It feels weird and heavy on the face and its either too intense or too sheer. But... i love patting it on my lips ! It gives me a matte nudy color!
Sounds.... different. I wish the dream line worked for me. In fact I wish more drugstore brands worked for me, but I have such horribly reactive skin nothing seems to work. But I love the whole concept of their dream makeup.
I like cream blushes, but I've heard nothing but bad reviews about that one. Really, I just want to play with it >.<
I think I'd prefer a sheer blush. I have a fear with blushes....of looking like Raggity Anne. Although, I really like NARS blushes.
