SERGE LUTENS! TUBEREUSE CRIMINELLE!
"A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future…" Coco Chanel and Goddess Granny who also believes that a woman simply must stand for AND smell like "something" at all times! There are a lot of things I will go without and/or sacrifice but even when I'm at my very worst, usually in the middle of a bout with the flu or totally ticked off but even then,a spritz of an amazing scent revives, restores, and re-creates the "me" who I need to believe is always at her best even when I'm not!
There is something about scent that creates amazing sensory imagery and that has SUCH powers to invoke and excite: I can't think of anyone who doesn't have a certain scent they associate with a person, place, times in their lives, or memory: it's what defines those we love most and that we avoid when heartache hits!
I adore perfume: My first “real” perfume was presented to me by my Mom on the occasion of my first “grown up dance” in a cellophane wrapped pink and gold cameo- embossed box that held a small spray vial of the heady floral, “White Shoulders”by Evyan which was and remains HER favorite scent! Money was tight but I knew she intended this unexpected gift to signal the arrival of things to come and hoped that they might all be “sweet.” I don’t remember if I actually loved the scent myself but I do remember my first spritz and how it made me feel. This scent remains very associative for me and I still sniff shabby bottles of it which can be found on discount store shelves, cast aside for newer, more modern scents by the next generation...
I could not remain faithful to a scent for most of my “formative years” and preferred to dab and dose with whatever seemed appropriate for the day or event! I went though most of the “classics” in record time and when I worked in fine department stores, I was allowed to sample whatever was taking the fragrance world by storm at the time! Estee Lauder’s “Youth Dew” (1953 as a bath oil/fragrance) remains one of my most memorable scents ever because it literally lasted for hours on me AND on my dates, my first "naughty girl" non-squeeky clean scent…
In 1992, while visiting Hong Kong, I stumbled upon the fragrance launch in progress near my hotel that would define me for years to come: “Angel” by Thierry Mugler. It literally smelled like heaven on me with notes of chocolate, vanilla and fruits and I wore this scent, which at the time had not yet even launched in the US for almost 15 years at a rather staggering price-point for the time. It was MINE and all who knew me knew my scent, men swooned, women begged for the name! Then as with most things that begin as original and amazing, it became mainstream and a bit diluted by overexposure so day that I caught a whiff as one of the few women in the world I truly dislike walked by, I knew my crystal blue-star bottle needed to be buried deep, never to be worn by me again
I do still admire it on others however for their impeccable taste alone!
I mourned the loss of this reliable friend and today, I continue my scent journey with perhaps less abandon but with a renewed sense of wonder! There are SO many incredible scents to choose from but my taste still drifts towards the also-rans, the divas in fancy bottles, and the ones that few either dare to wear or cannot readily find...I scour, I read reviews, I beg far-traveling friends to “bring me back a bottle” of this or that but recently and for now, I have again settled on a scent that once worn, knocked me to my knees, the incredible “Tubereuse Criminelle” by Serge Lutens. Until VERY recently, this deadly female, show stopping creation of one of the most sensational perfumer’s in the world was ONLY available in Paris! It was not to be exported to us mere mortals outside of the hallowed Palais Royal until one of my very favorite vendors, “Luckyscent” brought it to the US. It immediately sold out while I was fumbling to get my credit card out of my wallet! I snagged it on the first re-stock and everything whispered about and even hated by some was true: this is a floral like NO other and I have been complimented, cursed, or accused of seduction every day I’ve worn it since it arrived at my gate!
Defined as a “slap then a kiss” it pretty much suits how I feel most days! While I have no intention of ceasing my hunt for my next “it” perfume, this bold rare and intoxicating floral- beauty with a intriguing start, slow burn middle, and an almost illegal sensual bite while it lasts belongs to ME for now at least!
Buy it while you can here and if you've never visited the INCREDIBLE site that is "Luckyscent", plan to be there for quite a while!
I adore “Luckyscent” and you will too if you crave those unusual, unique, precious, or perhaps even controversial scents: I intend to try the entire “Etat Libre d’Orange” collection for the rather shocking (in a good way) descriptions alone! Explore scent and whatever you do, insure your “future” by never being without perfume!
What scent is your "signature" or like me, are you faithful to few while always looking to love another?

I personally like Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean. I wasn't nuts about it in the bottle, but on me it was great. I like when that happens!
I prefer lighter scents - but body splashes usually end up too girly/young for my taste so I've been hooked on Pacifica's spray perfumes. My favorites are Nerola Orange Blossom and Thai Lemongrass - both are light and fresh and don't have any of the cloying incense-y notes that give me a headache. I always love trying new scents, though, and I don't think I've quite found "MY fragrance" yet!
I have two favourite scents: Parisienne by YSL for Spring and Summer, and Burberry Body for Winter and Autumn. :)
I wear a variety of fragrances, but the most swoon-worthy for me is Jai Ose by Guy Laroche. However, I think the original is no longer produced, so when my stash is gone I'll be very sad! :(
I'm still searching for my signature scent. :)

Pink Sugar is my current signature scent, but I try lots of different things.
I like softer musky smells, there's this one that I tried from abercrombie called 8 and I love it! It's perfect for everyday, relaxing and calming, and then of course I have different ones for nights out.
I love wearing scent, but what is just delicious to me can cause others to become watery eyed and sniffly. As a Pilates instructor who is often up close and in the face of the client I usually choose not to wear a fragrance so as not to cause the client olfactory distress. But I do wear fragrance when I am not working. I love Amazing Grace, Bobbie Brown Beach, Duende (which I can find only in Spain and thus am grateful to my sister who travels there regularly), Clean Beach, Jennifer Aniston's perfume (I never thought of myself as a celebrity fragrance buyer, but whoever did her scent came up with a winner). And I change my scent by the season and by my mood. I like a scent that has a citrus, beach (really, have I beaten you over the head with that one???) or very clean smell. Put a bottle of Tresor in the room with me and even tightly capped and unsprayed my eyes will start to burn. See, someone else is going to write that Tresor is their favorite and the idea of wearing citrus is disgusting.
My current "signature" is simple: plumeria body oil. Plumeria is my favorite scent in the world-- one whiff and it transports me to a tropical paradise. Yet it's still lightly sweet and fresh, not overly heavy or cloying like some warm-weather scents can be. My favorite perfumes in the past have been Music from the original Harajuku Lovers perfume series, Beautiful by Estee Lauder, Taj Sunset by Escada, and some divine French perfume without a name that my boyfriend's mother brought me back from Grasse.
My current signature scent is Coach Poppy, but over the summer I swear by Bath and Body Works Signature Vanilla's in Coconut. The yummiest scent ever!
I too have loved Angel. Unfortunately, thru several moves, I have misplaced my bottle :( I don't wear it always, mostly in the winter, but I tend to alternate, wearing one scent for a while and then switching. I have a few custom perfumes from etailers but I also love Ed Hardy and some VS perfumes as well. Funny how some scent preferences change with age. I can't hardly stand some of the scents I wore in high school!

I dont have a signature scent yet :( still looking.
I can't dedicate myself to just one scent. I like to try new things and often end up with 10 different bottles of perfume. The scents that have been in heavy rotation for awhile for me have been Gucci Guilty, which is light and floral and perfect for any occasion, I think, and I love how girly it makes me feel. My other favorite lately has been Calvin Klien's Euphoria. I love wearing it on dates and at night. It's a stronger scent and I feel so sexy in it, really. Plus I've got tons and tons of compliments on it. I feel like it's a little more standout and less subtle.
A very underrated scent that im in love with is "SHI" by Alfred Sung. Its a new favorite of mine and its great to replace the Dolce & Gabbana and my old fav beyond paradise that i can no longer afford.
My husband has an incredibly sensitive smeller so I have to run any scent choices by him. He detests the smell of perfume so I've had to use essential oils. Lately my husband and I picked out pomegranate essential oil. It smells divine!

I have about 6 I switch between: Mary Kay Bella, Philosophy Pure Grace (clean sheets!), DKNY Be Delicious (apples), Clarins Eau Dynamisante (lemon/patchouli), Victoria's Secret Heavenly, and most recently Vince Camuto Eau de Perfum (really love this, it's probably my most 'grown up' scent!) I just kinda wear whatever strikes me, although Bella was my main scent for about 4 years until I started branching out. I do save Pure Grace and Be Delicious for the summer though since they are lighter scents. I will have to check out this website when I want a change!
lover of beauty, sharer of opinions http://prettylightsbeauty.blogspot.com/
My "signature" scent isn't very unique, it is Bath and Body Works' Sweet Pea. It's subtle but pretty. I don't like heavy fragrances.
I'm still looking. Also, i can't seem to stick to one, I like trying new things.
this sounds really nice, but i love daisy by marc jacobs, and crush by ae :)
Life's too short to stick to just 1 scent :DArmani CodeSweet Anthem indie perfumes!

eh.. so I have no future? I can't wear perfumes! I don't have any "signature" scents, but a colleague once remarked that I smell like sunblock. blah! haha

I love perfumes and I'm unfaithful! I get tired very easily of favourites and I'm always on the lookout!
i LOVE perfumes! My signature scent is Pleasures by Estee Lauder. An oldie but a goodie!

i go through phases with my fragrances...i kind of have an addiction. i feel that a girl needs at least fifteen different perfumes to choose from at any given time to fit whatever mood she happens to be in on any given day..or, for geminis like myself, which ever personality is in charge. i'm currently rotating through armani code, viktor and rolf flowerbomb, and kate spade twirl....but that's not to say that i don't have an entire shelf full, with smaller bottles of probbly ten to fifteen more that i wear given a certain inspiration..i'm also a huge fan of benefit cosmetics' perfumes...so fresh and lovely, all very unique...but i'm always on the lookout for something new...always..i'll have to check out luckyscent, it sounds like just the site for a gal like me :)
I am faithful to few while always looking to love another; my go-to is Givenchy Amarige but I have a bunch of perfume samples that I rotate through
My signature scent has always been Ralph Lauren Romance. I also like, and wear for special occassions, I'ssey Miake & Bond #9 Chelsea Flowers
I'm just getting back into wearing perfume. Working in the health care field, and these days so many people are sensitive to scents, I didn't wear it for a loooong time. I've bought some scent from some indie perfumeries and have enjoyed several of them. I just wear them so infrequently that I don't feel I can justify buying more than a couple.
I love Ralph Hot and Hypnotic Poison
xoxo
I am addicted to scents I love having a go to scent- I think it makes things special and adds some mystery and allure..
Perry Ellis for me! Lasts the entire day, and sometimes even afterward!
I have no "signature" scent. I like way too many different scents, but do lean towards citrusy or fruity.

I don't have a signature scent but I like rose-based scents.
