URBAN DECAY! HEAVY METAL EYELINER IN DISTORTION!
Is everyone feeling it? The stress that is December? Every year Goddess granny SWEARS she will not be intimidated or overwhelmed and every year, the month sneaks up on me like a bad joke and literally knocks the wind out of me! I plan and shop, bake and plot but it always seems like there's just one more obligation or must-do that doesn't quite make the cut! I also proclaim every year that I will "downsize and simplify" and honestly have somewhat done that by keeping my tree smaller and relying on recipes that I've tried before with great success: what IS it in me that motivates me to try that "Fresh Raspberry Souffle with Drizzled Carmel Coulee" the night before a big celebration for the first time? Going to stick to what works and that I know has the biggest impact for the least effort!
I'm also trying to stay looking lovely with the same mantra in mind: no new "OMG...there a 50% off Black Friday sale!" beauty products that I'm not sure won't give me hives are being used before a party this year and I've got it down to a handful of fabulous outfits and products that get huge compliments every time I break them out! Sometimes tried and true IS the way to go and one product I've re-visited in my vanity on almost every "special" occasion is my little tube of Urban Decay "Heavy Metal Liner" in "Distortion!" Trust me, the photo can't begin to do this product justice! We rave about Urban Decay's incredible and award-winning vegan products so often here on Megsmakeup.com that it must seem like we're biased? Absolutely not! It's simply that UD consistently and continuously creates some of THE best items on the market and has for over 10 years! I am a huge fan and I know many of y'all are as well and although "Heavy Metal" liners have been one of their "bestsellers" for a while,I felt an overwhelming urge to introduce you to the ONE SINGLE ITEM that will elevate your look to glam in a flash!!!
This liner is the gold-standard: almost every pro-artist I know of swears by the formula which is "glittery" but not in the sense that it flakes or produces fallout but rather than it literally creates a tiny bit of "light" around your eyes that really makes them pop! The shade selection is amazing and all are exceptional in their own way but I swear that one thin line of "Distortion", a perfect multiple- iridescent shimmer gives you a sparkle like that of one single PERFECT snowflake lighting up your lid! I can't get enough of this and have even been using it selectively during the day as it seems to improve my mood also!
I'm usually more of a black cats-eye liner girl but in the spirit of the season, LOVE what such a simple and easy use of one product does to elevate my look! I get endless compliments and it stays on all day and night with no touch up required! You can't go wrong with any of the "Heavy Metal" shades and the precise tiny brush makes application a breeze! It creates just enough of an accent to catches the light when you throw you head back to laugh that everyone around you will smile too! I think everyone should own a tube of this and what a great (and affordable!) gift for almost any female on your list! It can also be used as an all-over the lid effect for a dazzling look that rivals the stars or just in the center of the upper lid for a seductive smattering of shimmer and again,it's just so gorgeous and so easy I think you'll love it too!
It's just that right amount of pretty you can glide on in a minute that WILL make you feel happy and look more glamorous!
Buy it here and of COURSE you'll have a party browsing the awesome UD site, the looks they create are so enviable!
I am thinking I need "Heavy Metal" in "Baked" for a glorious gold-themed New Year's Eve? Have you tried a sparkly liner to add a bit of flash and sass to you look? Which "Heavy Metal" shade are you loving?

I haven't tried these yet, but I am very excited about them. Sparkles make everything better and UD is sure not to disappoint!
I have this in midnight cowboy... and have never used it!! i'm going to whip it out & give it a shot. thank you for the review!
ooh i love these liners!
who loves makeup? me me ME!
I have been all over the Sephora site trying to figure out how to use my $20 VIB gift card on a minimum purchase of 50 when quite frankly Sephora could buy from me! And I loved how I did my eyes last night with the shimmery, but very buildable, holiday color palette from Bobbi Brown and MUFE eyeliner. But I also have a nice little collection of UD eyeliners, but not the Heavy Metals. I think i have an answer to my Sephora shopping conundrum!
what a great tip to have some glitter or shimmer around the eye area to make it pop! I really need something like that, thanks for sharing!
i usually save glittery eye liners for holidays. this one sounds great.

Sounds perfect!!!

Oh man! I know with how much so many of us love UD, we could run their marketing campaign solely on personal testimonies! I love their eyeshadows and am totally infatuated with their eye pencils! LOVE! But I haven't tried their liquid liners...YET! I'm off to the website!

Okay I want one in "Spandex." Looks like an awesome black with rainbow glitter! Plus I love the name. It conjures up all kinds of awful mental images! haha

I like this, too. I have this, Midnight Cowboy, and Stagedive. I think I like a combination of this and Stagedive best. Only reason it doesn't get the fifth wineglass is that sometimes it burns for a few seconds after I put it on.

I've tried the glitter in midnight cowboy. It's too glittery for normal wear, but the golden glitter is just suitable for new year's celebration.
Sounds lovely!
I still haven't had the pleasure of trying any Urban Decay products but very much hoping to do so soon. I keep hearing so much about them and they sure do look amazing!
I have this eyeliner in spandex...and i am a bit disappointed. It ONLY looks good over black eyeliner. I can't wear it alone, it just looks.....weird. I wonder if it is the shade or the formula. I love it over black though. Also, I HATE the tiny brush. Sometimes it wont even apply the sparkles to my eyes at all. I want to try the other shades but only if they go on sale.
I have a bunch of these and love them! Distortion is totally work safe. Just dab a teeny tiny thin line along the lash line after you've completed your eye look and mascara. It's the perfect amount of pop to wake up tired eyes.

I would love to have this eyeliner!
I was sent one of these in "midnight cowboy" after I redeemed my points a long time ago and I loved it! At first I didn't know how to wear it haha, but I just wore it with a similar color eyeshadow. It's so pretty *____*
I actually have this one, came in a kit a year ago. Love how pretty the sparkle in it is, but haven't had the occasion to wear it yet. Will have to pull it out and try it for a Holiday look.
not sure on sparkly eyeliner
OO cool! I'm a little scared of white eye shimmer but this looks great.
I have always LOVED Urban Decay but have kept away from it for the last few yearsbecause unfortunatley glittery vibrant make up on older skin can sometimes make it look even older. But on the other hand, what the heck, if I have to have wrinkles, I may as well have sparkly wrinkles, eh? I do still love Midnight Cowboy anything tho & will definitely give this liner a shot. I can always give it to a daughter if it doesn't work--which happens quite often these days, much to their non-dismay.
I like liners with glimmer. UD makes good stuff!
I learned from my best friend that a little sparkle and glitter really brightens up the eye! I love how it looks on her and I do now too. I will be make-up shoppign today and can't wait to pick up some UD products!
UD, eye liner? yes yes and yes!! Just a bit of sparkle? Sounds divine to me!!
I'd love to wear glitter eyeliner but I'm not sure how! Black eyeliner is a must for me-- is there any way to layer this (without smearing the black)? I suppose the alternative would be black on top and glitter on bottom, but I'm not usually a liner-on-bottom person. Any tips?
You absolutely can layer them over black,I usually do! Let your base liner dry then just apply with the tiny brush and voila!:)
I usually go for either op or bottom but there are no rules when it comes to flashing a sparkly wink!
oooo i likey;)
I love glitterifying my make-up! :D
I'd love to try them!
I love UD products! I'll have to give this a try!!!

Sparkly liners are a great way to spice up a plain makeup look, especially in the holiday months!
I love the color Baked. It's so gorgeous.
I am a huge UD fan but don't have any of these... may have to check it out, looks fun.
I'd love to try this but I am not brave enough. Although it could be great for Christmas parties
I'm not a huge fan of glitter but I love a bit of low key shimmer and highlighter. I might give this a try and see if it looks more mature than the glitter gunk I would wear in elementry school.
Distortion looks like a good replacement to the japanese-brand one I just chucked out! I think the purple one I have is Metal Head. Christmas is the perfect season to have glitters round your eyes!
Sounds great.
What a great way to add just a bit of bling without being over the top!
I have tried the liner and while it's fairly easy to apply, it is too metallic/glittery for me to use on a daily basis. I only use this once in a while to add a little sparkle.
I just went on the website to check out distortion it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! This is PERFECT for NY eve i say!!! actually perfect for any special night out/party! I'm still using my UD glitter eye liner in stage dive I received from Meg and I absolutely love it :) Wish we had UD here!!!

I haven't used these, but I do like to have sparkle in my liner sometimes.
Distortion looks amazing! I've been curious about these, but was worried it'd be too glittery... I'll have to check them out next time I'm at Sephora! :D
Got this in gold from meg.... It's awesome! Not for everyday but maybe Halloween or new years!
I'm usually not one for glitter eyeliners but I know Urban Decay makes some pretty awesome ones! I will say though that I prefer a more opaque glitter liner and it looks like the Urban Decay glitter liner is a little more sparse.
Meg sent me one a while ago, I think it was Rockstar - it was teal colored. I never had much of an event to use it for so I gave it to a friend. I did test it out a few times and thought it was super fun. It was just hard to control how much glitter wound up where because of the super thin brush. I would definitely be more interested in a shade like Distortion or something more neutral like Midnight Cowboy.
