JOHN FREIDA'S FRIZZ-EASE DREAN CURLS PERFECTING SPRAY! WHAT IS YOUR FAVE HAIR SCENT?
Stacy B here! Is there anyone in the country not experiencing crazy weather right now? I've been hearing of devastating tornadoes, droughts, rivers overflowing and tons of rain. I'm in the middle of the fourth day of a possible 10 day stretch of rain and solid-as-a-rock humidity. yuck.
Show of hands: Whose hair looks flawless in 90% humidity? Anybody? Nobody? I thought so. Humidity is hair's nemesis. Some of us can work the humidity to our advantage with some heavy duty products, but not many of us. I happen to be able to get away with a little back-hand upside humidity's head, but it usually whacks me back after a few days. Humidity and I are frenemies at this point. I need a little humidity for some curl, but if I want straight hair, the air needs to be dry as a bone. Too much humidity, and instead of fun, bouncy curls, I have stringy waves. Pretty.
My hair is naturally wavy. And thick. And I have A LOT of it. So much that if I decide to color my hair, they usually need to double the amount of dye and even then sometimes the bottom pieces miss out on the color.
The good thing about that is that I can straighten my hair with a blow dryer and flat iron, or I can use some curl spray and a diffuser and it's pretty curly. So some people tell me I'm lucky that I have both options. But the other side of the story is that no matter what style I choose, I have to style it. I can't just shower and go. My hair doesn't 'air-dry'. I'm not kidding when I tell you if I let it air dry, the front half would be wavy, the middle would be lumpy and the bottom would be wet. ALL DAY. Once, I showered on a Saturday morning, went to the beach with my hair in a clip, took it out for some sunbathing, put it back in the clip at night and woke up the next morning and the underneath hair was still damp. 24 hours later. No joke.
Needless to say, I need something that really works when I want some curls. A few months ago, Meg generously sent me a package of Profound Beauty Tropical Curl and it's AMAZING. But expensive. I'm rationing this stuff like a Survivor contestant. It's like my fancy underwear...special occasions only! :) In the meantime I needed something that would work, for under $10. Because with enough hair for three people, I have to use a lot of products and it runs out fast.
I have been using John Freida's Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Curl Perfecting Spray. I really like it and have been using it for years. If I want tighter curls that stay in place all day, I use it with some curl gel and a diffuser. If I want beach-y waves that aren't frizzy or sticky I use it alone with a diffuser. Sometimes I use it without any diffusing help on really hot beach days when I don't mind if my hair stays wet all day. It's cooler anyway! Then the top and middle layers settle into nice soft waves and the bottom is like my own natural air conditioner. :)
I really like it because it's not sticky, you can use it at the end of the day before a big date to reactivate your curls, it can be used alone as a softer product, or layered for a more planned look. It washes out clean and isn't that expensive if you use it a lot, like I do. It does have a bit of an alcohol smell, but it's not overwhelming. My husband tells me it makes my hair smell nice. How sweet! (disclaimer: he really likes beer so maybe the alcohol scent is appealing?)
This is a product I truly stand behind because I've been using it for years. I've probably been using twice as much as a normal head of hair, but oh well. It works!
What scent do you like in your shampoo or haircare products? I've been asked by a company so please help me out and let me know! What scented shampoo is your favorite? Do you like a subtle scent or to really smell it? Please let me know!

First! HAH I love coconut scents in my haircare, or creme brulee.. - i also like minty fresh scents.
who loves makeup? me me ME!
My favorite scents in hair products are usually really strong, I don't like a chemically smell, but I like to smell the product. I do really like this shampoo I have with a subtle coconut smell though. Basically, I like my hair things to smell good. I don't like scentless products or those with little scent as much.
I also adore the scent of coconut in my hair, and one of my conditioners has mango and coconut~would love, love, love to find something with a touch of strawberry.
I love the scent of peppermint shampoos but not sure about it lingering in my hair.
I love fragrance-free hair products but they're hard to find
I love nice smelling hair products. I have this product at home but I haven't been using it lately simply because I'm so lazy to curl my hair!
I must smell all products before I buy/use them. I will spend an hour easily in a store smelling hair products before I decide to try something new. I like stronger scents because they linger longer. Coconut, Jasmine, the OLD smell of pantene.... to name a few.

I love rose and jasmine scented hair products. I like to smell it, but nothing that interferes with my perfume. I love the old version rose scented Herbal Essences shampoo. It made my hair smell the best! Of course, discontinued :(

What scent do you like in your shampoo or haircare products? Peach & Mango hint of Musk
I like fresh scents on my hair, especially in summer, minty ones, perhaps with some green tea smell )))

i used to have this coconut stuff, so good.
I have what I call ADHPD - Attention Deficit Hair Product Disorder. I almost NEVER stay with a product past 2 bottles. I also have thick hair, heavily layered just so it will do something.. anything.. at all. This little bottle of hair love is my dirty secret, I've gone through at least 15 bottles of it, and just keep going back to it. It doesn't get crunchy, flaky or gunky in my hair, which is a huge plus due to the thickness of my hair. My hair is not curly, only wavy... with a heavy list towards frizzy. I get all kinds of volume, definition and alleged natural curl out of this bottle depending on how I style it. Hope it's never discontinued! Oh, and fave hair product scent is coconut. :)
I think we are hair twins!! My hair is thick and curly- great hair looks great straight or curly BUT needs constant upkeep and TLC.. if this product works for you I am SOLD!..I like the smell of the old herbal essences for hair care or almonds..for some reason
amazing how some scents take you back to long ago
I have naturally curly hair and tried Dream Curls when I was in college. Sadly it didn't work for me.Coconut is one of my favorite hair care scents.
I like soft scents not really perfumey or floral. I am more of a fruity girl. If a product is too strong scented I will stop using it because it normally bothers my allergy's.I love John Freida products. I have for years. I have the curly hair that can go either was myself but am lucky that I can wash and product and go and it normally behaves. I am dying to try the new frieda Haircolor. I got a free box and hope it is as great as the rest of the products
I love lavender and chamomile in shampoo. I love the smell of Herbal Essence and Garnier Fructis, but neither are really great products so although I'm pulled in occasionally, I usually regret it later!
My hair sounds just like yours, thick and wavy with straight parts... and I also get those days when if I put it up not full dry it's still wet at the end of the day, lol. I will have to give this product a shot since you love it so much! Right now I am using Fekkai Beach Waves which is nice but it's more expensive. As far as scent goes, I'm a softly-scented kinda girl, nothing overpowering... I think jasmine would be a nice soft scent for a shampoo.
lover of beauty, sharer of opinions http://prettylightsbeauty.blogspot.com/
Aveda has great flower and plant scents in their products. Victoria's Secret Sexy Hair smells really good too. My ex-boyfriend asked what it was when I sprayed it and said he liked the smell.
I like rose scented shampoos... actually, any floral scents works for me. No food scents for me though, with the exception of citrus.
i love really strong scents in my hair products, anything thats not chemically or floraly though. I want to be able to smell it! I acutally like the scent of Dove products but they seem to make my hair to soft and limp.
I love strong fruity scents! I want to be letting my hair down for bed and still be catching a whiff of the scent, if I washed my hair in the morning.
I do not have curls, I do not have frizz usually. Just got back from Punta Cana and my hair was no more difficult to style than usual. I use the John Frieda wand for little fly-aways, but use just a touch or the hair you have treated is going to be wet and gummy. My favorite scents are clean scents. I tend to use a fragranced body wash so I don't want to smell like a walking tester stick.
I love John Freida products!
I prefer soft, clean scents in hair products. A light vanilla or coconut is OK, too.
i love a fruity tropical smell for my shampoo.. something exotic so i can daydream and pretend i'm on a lovely island drinking coconut milk lol. i like it somewhere between subtle and potent. i want the smell to last on my hair!!!otherwise.... i like a yummy smell.. like gummy bears or soemthing lol... but hopefully it won't attrack ants.

I like strong scents that linger in my hair, but I'm all over the board as to what type I like. I like the the smells of coconut and mint and Garnier Fructis and TIGI Curls Rock. I haven't tried John Frieda since the Disastrous Frizz Ease Incident of 2004.
I prefer subtle scents in my shampoo or haircare products. Citrus or floral scents are my favourites. :)
i also prefer subtle scents... i happen to LOVE jessicurl conditioner and the island fantasty scent does it for me. i love anything tropical and light for the warmer weather... in the winter i'd lean toward cleaner herbals... lavender (but not too much) chamomile. i also like whatever scent i'm wearing to be noticed more than my hair... for instance you KNOW when someone near you has used pantene... and that's the sort of thing i dont like... smelling like someone else and having such an obvious scent following me.
Coconut - Yum! I like fruity scents too. I'm not in love with the scents of any of my hair products right now, but they are working, so I can't complain too much. I'll have to try this John Frieda product. My hair is similar. It isn't too hard to straighten, and I can get decent wave with it (although it usually falls mostly flat by the end of the day), and I can't let it air dry and have it look okay.
This looks cool! I have naturally curly hair that pretty much drives me insane the majority of the time. -_- I personally adore fruity scented hair products. I love to smell delicious!
I love anything that smells fresh, especially fruity scents. I love the way Herbal Essences and Fructis smells. Yum!
Hmm...I like almost all kind of scent except lavender and jasmine. There's just something about those two that I'm not so keen with. I like subtle scent because I don't want anything too overpowering. Thanks for the John Freida review! I have to honestly say that it's all thanks to John Freida that my hair has been frizz-free for over 8 years. Back then I had really frizzy hair. I remembered the students in my class would always talk about my frizzy hair. They never said my name but I knew they were directing it to me because I was the only girl in class with frizzy hair! I bought a bottle of John Freida's frizz-free serum or gel? I can't remember exactly what it was call but it was a gel-like. It kept my hair nice and smooth without any frizz. After finishing a whole bottle I can honestly say that even without using it my hair has been frizz-free. Unlike before when it was always frizzy no matter what the only time my hair get frizzy now is during a humid day. I love you, John Freida!
i love floral and fruity smells :)
I wish I had some curl to my hair!!I like "clean" scented hair products....absolutly NO food smells!!
My hair sounds similar to yours - thick and "bendy" I call it. I like clean hair scents too, no food smells. Though Aveda has a Rosemary Mint shampoo that I kind of like.
I love anything fruity smelling!
Gracie
I like the scents of musc and floral and enchanting scents!
I like my shampoo to have a stronger scent. I'm not talking about anything so strong it knocks my socks off but something that smells good and leaves a fragrance in my hair after I rinse it out. I prefer sweet/fruity smells like coconut or apple. It's good to know I'm not the only one out there with "undecided" hair. I would never dream on letting my hair air dry (unless it's in a pony-tail). It gets super curly underneath with lumps in the back of my head and very soft waves in the front. I'm lucky enough to be the only one in my family with hair like this (yeah, real lucky) and I almost always wear it straight. I think I will give this a try for a curly look since you said it works for you.

Pantene is hands down the nicest smelling shampoo out there. It lingers in my hair for a while too.

I like coconut scented hair products best, but I'm not to picky when it comes to how my products smell as long as it is not overpowering.
I like fresh/fruity/citrus scents. Nothing like perfume. I don't want it to clash with my perfume.

I like the smell of the paul mitchell super skinny line. it is SOOO yum. also some of my kenra products have an amazing scent. but, i usually spray perfume in my hair anyways so my hair tends to smell like my perfume!
I prefer the lime or mint smell on my hairstuff.
Coconut or strawberries would be a perfect scent! The shampoo/conditioner I'm using now doesn't leave any scent. D:
this is simply divine
