MEG ON NBC! WMBF MYRTLE BEACH WITH "BEST BABY PRODUCTS!"
Meg here! Babylove is off this Friday and she asked me to do a "Baby Love" article in her place. This could be difficult seeing I don't have a baby. I also don't have any friends that live near by with babies. I also just get freaked out around them in general as well. It occurred to me there had to be someone better to write this article. Like, anyone other then me.
Today my baby butt was saved! Today was the day that WMBF aired a clip of me from being on their news show. The segment was "Best Baby Products!" Fortunately, we have many baby mothers and many baby lovers that read and offer their opinions on our Baby Love articles. All I had to do was go back and look at the comments that the Meg Heads had left under the posts to chose the most popular items.
They filmed this segment in my new enemy. Hi-Definition Television. Damn you HD! While I don't have a baby I do look like I was up all night with one!
Here were my picks-
Zakias Argan Oil: Mineral Oil is a no-no! This is a great mom and baby item. Instead of "baby oil" (mineral oil with scent) Zakias Argan Oil is the safe alternative. Better yet, it prevents stretch marks and makes mom's hair and skin look amazing!
Circle Of Friends: Lice Defense Shampoo and Conditioner. Genius. Use these products on your child (camp is coming up!) and spare the bug pick through. This prevents your from child from getting those nasty gnats. The Circle Of Friends Organic Cooling Spray Lotion is just fabulous for treating sensitive skin and eczema. Great company!
Erbaviva! Organic Lip and Cheek Balm It your little one has dry spots on their face then this is the soothing go-to lavender balm. I must warn you. Mothers have been know to use it a lot more on themselves. Balm junkies go crazy for this huge tube. I used to have one. Now I notice it has been in Megken's car. This is where the term "Like stealing from a baby" must have come from!
Little Twig Travel Basics Bee Calming Lavender If you have two kids then go to the site and buy two bee mitts and a separate bottle of the little twig body wash because 2 Kids + 1 Bumble Bee face cloth=FIGHT My sister bought an extra because her boys loved these mitts so much they wanted to take baths all the time with them. Arguing over who uses the bee was driving her insane but the plus side was they were loving bath time. So, small price to pay for clean and harmonious boys.
100 Percent Pure Yummy Ice Cream 2 in 1 Body Wash and Shampoo! They are not joking around on the "Yummy Factor" Wowsers do these smell absolutely delish! The bottle is huge, the pump is so convenient and one less product to have to take up bath real-estate. With scents like "Mint Chocolate Chip" and "Strawberry" What kid wouldn't beg to be bathed?
I hope you like my choices and I hope you like my segment. Have you ever tried any of my picks and what are your favorite baby products?

You honestly looked great Meg! I have to say you seemed like Pro-Mom material..But anywho out of all the products you did the erbaviva blam is my fave! I have used on my knees and elbows for a couple months now and seriously it works wonders.
;) Gloss & Gum <3
The lice defense prevention system is genius! I have calculated that approximately 25% of my children's early years were spent having their heads examined (for lice that is). The first time lice invaded I had a 4 year old, 3 year old and newborn. Thank god he didn't have any hair yet. I had to wash, boil or freeze everything that the girls had come in contact with. That means I had to wash, boil or freeze the entire frickin house. And my husband got pissed because he had to go pick up dinner that night. True story.
Meg, cracks me up seeing you do a segment on babies but you were a natural discussing baby care!!! Hmmm....Love all of these selections. Erbaviva became mine and I bought vanilla and strawberry 100% pure gift sets. Next will be the chocolate mint.
Unfortunately my babies are grown now, but I wouldn't be above using some of these products myself!
I have used Zakias product before not the oil but the shampoo and I love it. I have not used Circle of Friends but have looked around the web site and it looks great. And HD is so you Meg.
well done, that lady didnt give you much help there making an atmosphere of fun did she, just sat there.. oh well you were great. i sooo lemming the oil. will have to just buy it i guess i want it so bad.
who loves makeup? me me ME!
I bought some of those Bum Drops babylove wrote about - LOVE THEM! I am trying to save one of the jars just in case I need a baby shower gift, but I might just use it for myself!
You silly Meg, you looked great and spoke like a pro! Baby oil? Any of the great oils from Shea Terra Organics - they have Argan oil, Baobab oil, Carrot seed oil, awesome massage oils, all ORGANIC. But there is a new thing especially for babies and its developed by a mother of 12 (!!!), so she knows what she's looking for - Calming Baby Warm Massage Oil. Contains only shea butter oil, baobab oil and lavender and chamomile essential oils. I have no babies, but this is a great baby shower gift and I could totally use it as a massage oil before bed time myself!
No babies for me for at least four more years! Sadly, I don't know much about baby products, but my friends with children really like the Method brand of baby products. Very gentle.
I think this kind of thing is great. Even if someone doesn't have a baby it's always great to get a mother to be or new mother a gift her babe and her can use.
Argan oil is great! Thanks Meg!
Wonderful clip! I don't have any children of my own yet (me and the future father to be have to finish up studies, get a home and all that stuff first) but I do find a LOT of nice products in the baby/child care aisles. I found these lint free, biodegradable paper towels that are wonderful for everything you can imagine be it removing nail polish (who on earth thought cotton pads was good for that?!) or wiping your camera lens with. I also love the ecological section when I search for mild soaps and lotions, since I can often find high quality stuff without too much of scent for a better price than in the corresponding shelf for adults.
Please post ingredients! PRETTY PLEASE?!
Meg you are so great on TV! When are you getting your own beauty show?? I need to try this Argan oil, do people like it better than Vitamin E oil?
HD is EASY for you Darlin' girl! You make every product "the best" because you present with style and good humor. You look wonderful and charming!Babies/kids are "people" too and I LOVE that there are SO many fabulous and effective products out there for us to use on and for them that really do help make their little lives better! I think that "posting ingredients" in every post would truly be tough as not everyone is interested in every product so I'd truly suggest that if a particular product DOES capture your attention that you visit the site or call the company for specific ingredients and/or concerns...I know some of us mention ingredients from time to time but not sure it's feasible to include everything everytime...it's an ingredient jungle out there,LOL!
great article even though you don't have any babies
When my son was a baby, 22 years ago, he kept getting rashes and he would cry and scream. For some reason, out of frustration, I put some Monitstat 7 on the rash. A miracle. Not only did he stop crying, the rashes healed up and after that any sign of a rash, got a quick coating of Monitstat. I told many friends and they also raved about it Going all natural now days, I wonder if natural yoghurt would work? I later learned from my doctor that most diaper rash is really yeast infection because breast milk and formula is really quite sweet, which means what dribbles out is also sweet causing the yeast a great place to grow. A hint for all new moms. Now for us older moms, these items sound divine. I need to replay the tape to get the item tht mothers carry in their purse. It sounded great.
i don't have any babies either, but these are helpful recs, and i'll pass it on to my sister.
I love Johnson & Johnson baby lotion (:
Great idea on the lice shampoo and conditioners.
I don't have a baby either, but I do have a little niece who's almost 5 months old. I would love to get her some of these products, I hate to think of babies having all those chemicals used on them and would much prefer that organic products be used. I know organic products will be what I choose when I have babies!
You look great!! Congrats on your tv run!! =D
even though i don't have any babies or know any babies around me..... i am dying to try some of the baby products myself lol! especially the argan oil, i have heard soooo many amazing reviews and that product. i love how organic and natural most baby products are :) i'd definitely be using products like these when i have my own kid!
http://lilynotlouise.blogspot.com/
Would love to try the argan oil.. on myself :)
Great job, Meg! I have to say, I loved the bit about the moms stealing the product (I can't remember which product it was) from the babies. Classic. =)
Great clip, Meg! And I totally agree with your choices. The only one I haven't tried is the Argon oil. The Erbaviva is in my bag right now and I use it EVERY DAY. Lips, cuticles, dry spots, it takes care of them all. Luckily my son has great skin so far, so I don't feel bad about stealing it. :) The Little Twig stuff is awesome, I'm about to place my second order for more of it. It smells great, doesn't dry out and the little bee is adorable. I would have loved the 100% Pure stuff, but I got vanilla and it was WAY too overpowering of a scent. It doesn't help that I don't like vanilla... I bet the strawberry is great though. Good stuff! Keep it coming! This is my number one place to go for baby product advice!
My babies are over 8 but I am looking for something for my skin that moisturizes that feels like it is.
My youngest just turned three and I have realized that there will be no more babies for me. I already miss that smell of baby skin! I also feel like a survivor :-) Never thought I would have four kids, but here I am. Anyways, I loved using Mustela products. They have quite a selection both for babies and mothers. Also, Whole Foods store was my go to place. That's where I discovered California Baby products, which we still use. Also Peter Rabbit's organics, I think it was baby Intense therapy cream, helped me a lot when we had diaper rush attacks.
Great tips! I don't have kids but have friends that do have them so will remember to pass the info on to them. Plus I really want one of those 100% Pure body washes and shampoos! Although I might eat them...edit: just checked and they don't have international shipping :( But perhaps one day!
Excellent choices. Great ideas for a shower---a basic of good and good-for-baby products.
Excellent choices Meg! You look great on tv!!!! I can not live with out the 100 percent pure! Love Love Love it!

I don't have any babies, but if I did I'm sure I would pamper them just as much as I pamper myself :) very informative either way, you're so natural on TV!
lover of beauty, sharer of opinions http://prettylightsbeauty.blogspot.com/
maybe i'll tell my aunty about these products because she has a child :)
I haven't tried any of these but thanks for reminding me about the Circle of Friends Lice Defense spray. I had intended to get some for my baby, who is now 5! The balm sounds perfect too as does the argon oil.

go meg!
You were born an original; Don't die a copy.
i wouldn';t mind using this myself
I think my son would love the cute bee washing mitt. It's so adorable! Thanks for the article I'm going to take a look at the site and see what else they have.
Krysta<3
I don't have a baby but I wouldnt be against trying this for myself!!!
Too cute! I love how multipurpose all of these are!
Great clip!!! I love baby stuff, it's so gentle on MY skin, thank you so much for the list all written out.
I don't have any babies yet.....but I would definitely try a lot of these products!
Gracie
Good job as always Meg!
I don't have a baby but it make me want to have to buying for us ...
Diamond are Girl Best Friend !!!
I don't have a baby either but a lot of women's best-kept beauty secret revolve around baby products. It's funny Meg but earlier today I was looking up the BPAL description for Queen Mab perfume oil (have it and love it, but am still trying to get this breaking down notes thing down), and the search results actually came up with an old entry on here from 3 years ago. You had actually gotten Queen Mab and compared it to all your favorite things including the peach colored baby conditioner all wrapped into one scent. How's that for a random blast from the past? ;-)
i dont have a baby but i an avid user of baby products myself! i would totally use these items on myself ;)

Thanks for recommending these great products! will definitely keep them in mind when I have a baby!
As a mommy and a staff member at a school i LOVE the lice prevention. I recommend it to all the parents!

Lavanilla has a fantastic new line out for babies. I was using Mustela products, but stopped because their formula hasn't yet gotten rid of parabens. Burt's Bees is pretty good.
Thanks for the great tips. I don't have kids either, but it's great to have some ideas for my friends who all seem to be having babies at the moment. I also think that if something is gentle enough for a baby, it's bound to be good enough for me.
