GANACHE FOR LIPS! ALL NATURAL GOURMET LIP BALM! LEMON MOUSSE FLAVOR!
Eleni here! I met my new love in Boston. It was a cold snowy night back in February when Meg picked me up from the airport. I was tired, cold and grumpy, so she took me straight to Eileen's house for a glass of wine and girl talk. I sat on my chair, started sipping my wine and complained a bit about everything. Then, I turned my head around and there it was, sitting in its little box on the table, a simple yellow tube with the words "Ganache for Lips" written on it. I found it interesting. I held it in my hands for a bit longer and kept reading: "All-Natural Gourmet Lip Balm." Hmm... even more interesting. Being hungry was one of the million issues I had complained about, so a gourmet anything didn't sound like a bad idea. I kept reading: "Lemon Mousse." Wait a minute. WHAT? Lemon friggin Mousse?! That's the point I gave Eileen the "please please please can I try this, please, and I'll stop whining for the rest of the night" look. Didn't give her much of a choice, she let me have one of her lip balms and I want you to picture the rest of this encounter in slow motion.
I opened the tube and smelled it. My eyes opened wide. Not only does it smell like an amazing lemon mousse, it smells like an amazing FRESHLY MADE lemon mousse. It smells like what the kitchen is supposed to smell like when you bake lemon meringue - a small also known as heaven. The moment I put this mind blowing Ganache on my lips, I turned into a cartoon, my already wide open eyes turned into little hearts and I starting running around the house yelling "Meg! MEG! Have you tried this product? SMELL IT!" Unfortunately Megan's smelling sense is not very strong so the reply I got was something like "what are you screaming about crazy person?" but I'm telling you, I'm PROMISING you, that if you try this lip balm you'll fall in love and you'll want to buy all the flavors it comes in.
Oh, I didn't mention that, did I? Ha. Well, as if the amazing Lemon Mousse flavor was not enough, the Ganache for Lips company makes this lip balm in NINE different flavors:
Lemon Mousse, Vanilla Mousse, Mocha Latte, Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Hazelnut, Chocolate Marzipan, Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Orange.
And as if I'm not already putting money aside so I can get all of these treats, looking through their website I found out that they have products for the body as well. Seriously, I'm going broke here. Not really though cause the lip balms are just $3.80 - I just plan to get many copies of every flavor, just in case they stop making them, or who knows? I just never, ever want to be left without this product.
Here's a bit about Ganache for Lips' company history:
"Ganache for Lips started in May 2003 in the kitchen of the creator and owner, Patricia West. Just recovering from treatment for breast cancer, she wanted to create a lip balm for herself and her friends which was all-natural, healing and protective of the lip tissue, and not waxy. Having studied aromatherapy to help with the effects of cancer treatment, she included peppermint oil to combat the afternoon fatigue brought on by the radiation treatment. While studying natural perfumery with Mandy Aftel (creator of Cacao, a natural chocolate perfume) she was inspired to add natural cocoa extract to the lip balm. Then, on a whim, Ms. West decided to add real Scharffen Berger chocolate (her favorite) to the lip balm, which greatly enhanced the aroma and color of the balm. After testing the product on friends and neighbors to rave reviews, she decided to seriously market the product and began the process of developing labels and display boxes. In April 2004, she officially declared Ganache for Lips open for business. Her first customer was, of course, the Scharffen Berger factory store in Berkeley. Soon, the demand for the product resulted in expanding the line to nine delicious flavors. Our lip balm, although still a small niche brand, is sold in stores across the United States and has foreign distributors for overseas markets. The brand continues to grow with the addition of new product categories, most recently our fabulous new Whisper Light Body Oil Veil."
Ladies, what do you think of Ganache for Lips?

+1. that's EXACTLY what I was going to post here!
Mmmm mocha latte. Id be afraid that I'd swallow the whole stick!
Does this come with a spoon because it sounds delish! I would try these if I didn't have 65,000 other lip balms that are all calling my name. Well, only 64,000 call my name; some of the others are really quite ugly and I have no idea why I bought them in the first place. Can they ship in time for Mother's Day?
I'm back. I know I don't get any points for a second post on the same topci, but this is worth posting. The website does not sell products, but does refer you to three websites that do as well as stores, state by state, that sell the product. There are no stores in Maryland with the ganache so I went to beautyhabit.com, friended them on Facebook and found a bunch of deals on products. I do not work or represent beautyhabit.com in any way. And the ganache is only 4.00 each? Ridiculous!
mmmm yum sounds lovely.. im eating a raspberry and chocolate gelati right now.. if it tastes anything like this then i am in!
who loves makeup? me me ME!
i so want to try this. i saw it on beautyhabit and was on the fence but now i think i need some of these

Sounds yummy, and I love the story behind the brand!
Ohhh YUM! I so have to try this. I had the most amazing vanilla mousse out at dinner the other night so if I can have that on my lips all day, I will be a very happy person! They're only available at KitCosmetics in Perth which is sad, but then SUPER exciting because there is one very close to me, so it will be easy to get when it is released in Melbourne! :)
Oh my gosh my mouth watered just thinking about it! I would love the mocha latte or chocolate mint one!!!

Lemon Mousse?! Vanilla Mousse?! Chocolate Mousse?! I am drooling here, I simply must get my hands on some of these!!!
chocolate yumm
These sound so yummy. I'd be all over them, if not for the beeswax.
Every year my best friend and her husband go to Maine for a week, and I stay at their house to take care of their 4 rescue dogs, because 2 of them are Pit Bull mixes and it's had to find a kennel that will take them. So she always brings me back a bag full of different things she found that she thinks I might like, and last time, along with a beautiful antique strand of pearls and crystals, she gave me one of these in every single chocolate flavor they make. The only problem with them was that I couldn't stop putting them on and licking them off until I had used up an entire tube in 3 days!
Meg and Goddess Granny stayed a few days with me in April. When I was getting ready to wash the sheets in the room GG slept in, a tube of the Lemon Ganache. I had to try it and loved it, but thinking that GG might be coming back I set it on the nightstand. Of course I googled where I might buy this wonderful balm. It worked, wasn't waxy and smelled heavenly, especially for a lemon lover like me. Just a few nights ago, I thought I smelt lemon in my sewing room where I was working. I went in the closet, where our dog Artemis likes to hang out, and the scent was much stronger. I looked down at Arty and she has a big dog smile all covered with lip balm. I found the tube that had been bitten open and every last drop was gone from every piece. Arty walked around like a queen with the gloss on her lips. About an hour later, her craving gave in and she licked it all off. She is a girlie dog all the way! But I loved the stuff and now it is gone. I will have to order more, except hide it from your pets. There was not one ingredient in this product that was unsafe for the pets. It was all oils and vitamin E, Rosemary. Of course the lemon didn't have chocolate which is a big no no for dogs.
Now this sounds like something I need to add to my collection of balms.
the packaging is so pretty ;D
Ooh how delicious, Eleni! I love the idea of a lemon mousse lip balm, how decadent! : ]

Not sure if it's all my flavors, but cute name!
As much as I like lip balms, I find that I generally prefer unscented and unflavoured lip balms. Out of the choices listed, Mocha Latte looks good.
