MOOM ORGANIC HAIR REMOVAL!
BabyLove here! I did a stint in esthetician school about 8 years back. I really enjoyed popping my own zits, but when it came down to doing it to other people, I couldn't handle it. What I did learn, and learned pretty well-was how to wax. I'll brag a little bit, and say that I was probably the best waxer in the class. Since then, I've never gone to a salon to have my brows or nether regions cared for. I usually buy some good old Sally Hansen and slap it on.
I was extremely intrigued when I read about Moom, an all organic and natural wax made from sugar, water, chamomile, lavender, tea tree oil, and lemon juice. It's the only all organic and natural wax on the market, and it's so safe that you could eat it (I'm not sure why you would want to though).
I was super excited to receive my package since my mustache was staring to look like my husbands. To be extremely honest, the second I touched this wax, I doubted it would work. I heated it up, and stuck my finger in it to test the temperature. When I removed my finger, instead of dealing with a sticky mess, I was able to wash it off immediately, and I had a good chuckle.
When I had a few moments to spare, I brought my wax into the privacy of my bathroom where I decided to clean some areas that I hadn't been tending to. I shouldn't have doubted this wax because when I pulled those strips off I was shocked. Me and Moom worked together in the bathroom for a little bit, and the results were amazing. I waxed my brows, my chin, my privates, and if I had more available hair I would have waxed that too. I wasn't in as much pain as I usually find myself in when I'm ripping out my pubic hair. I did not bleed or bruise, and was far less swollen than usual. I ALWAYS get a little bit of a rash on my upper lip after waxing, but again, there was nothing. Still, the most fascinating part of this wax, was the fact that I could easily wash it right off in the shower. The other thing that I love so much about this wax and its easy removal, is that I washed the strip cloths off with a little soap and water and will be able to use them again. The site claims they will last for years! Moom offers a 12 ounce refill jar, so you can avoid paying extra for the tools you already have once you've run out of the wax.
I'm pleased to say that I was proven wrong by Moom, and you can ask my husband-I'm only wrong like once every 5 years. So with Moom, not only have I found a nice, safe product for the most sensitive areas of my face and body, but I've also filled my quota for being proven wrong until I'm 34. It was a win-win for me, and it will definitely be a BIG WIN for you if you're a do it yourself kind of girl like me!

Wow, this stuff sounds awesome! I usually use the kind of wax that hardens on your skin, so you don't need strips, but I would be willing to make an exception for something organic :)
Lily - Mineral makeup Junkie!!!
It sounds like Nad's.
I remember Nad's, that DID bruise me! It looked like I had a horrible disease on my bikini line. Best left to professionals.
I am not a diy waxer. I've tried some products and never had any luck so I've always just shaved. This product looks awesome enough for me to change my ways. At least enough to try it. The price isn't that bad either. It's really quite a deal if you can use the strips again. I'm not a great waxer so I'll just test it out in an area that doesn't get looked at everyday. LOL. Thanks babylove for bringing this product to light.
Yes, I have been a fan of Moom for years. And never had to worry if a bad reaction came because it is natural and organic too.
I'm not a waxer, however this sounds like the wax I would use if I did!
I'm leery of waxing myself after my aunt did a class on it, tested on my mom (this was years ago) and ended up taking off both eyebrows! So, I am more than willing to fork over $15 for a good wax from a professional. I don't trust myself with anything like this because I would over do it for sure!
I'm not a waxer. Every time I've tried (and always DIY, never professionally), it has gone terribly wrong with burning/peeling/rashes/blood. I am too scared to try it anymore.
Wow for around $20 this is pretty cheap! I've never waxed before... too young to do so. xD
I got this and tried this for my FIRST TIME waxing. It didn't go as well for me... I still thought it was painful (but I guess not compared to real wax!), and the hair came off kinda patchy for me, but I'm sure since it was my first time I probably didn't have the 'hang of it'. All in all I decided it wasn't worth the trouble and I'd rather just zip through in the shower with some cream and a razor than heat up the product, apply, apply the strips, rub in, remove with my teeth clenched, clean up... you get the idea. I have finer hair on my legs anyway, and I didn't want to let my armpit hair grow out to 1/2 inch like it recommends to use it there... don't know if my boyfriend would like that :)... but I DO think it would be a great alternative for people who already use wax and want an organic product!! The smell and texture of the product were really nice!

This was pretty much the experience I had - patches of hair came off. I still had to shave. That was not the idea!
Hm, I wonder if this would work well with my skin. I get huge rashes from waxing on my chest and loads of ingrown hair in my thighs. I wonder if Moom would be an improvement...
I tried a home-brew version of a sugar wax once, and it didn't turn out right - but this looks great! I'd love to try it.

Yes I like nair thoug
Wow im still scared to use wax..I nair it
I have this, I have used it several times. I have never had a profesional wax done, so the first couple times I tried it I was not very sucessful. Once I got the "hang of things" my DIY waxing has gone better...I had to work through the learning curve
Lisa
i need to try these since i'm tired of shaving
this is the first time im hearing of this i normally use the stuff that Avon sells it works alright but i wouldn't use it no where else but my eyebrows as it does hurt when you rip it off
I love waxing, but yes I agree with the messy wax formulas out there. I use the Nair's big pot of wax, non-strip formula and it works REALLY well but it's also REALLY messy so I don't tend to use it for hair removal just because of that reason. I find random wax on my fingernails later on it the day lol! (Does it even hurt less for hair down there?!) This sounds quite appealing, must check it out! Would love a meghead discount on this!

A product called Nad's is very similar to this, has been out around about as long as, and is also natural and, to my knowledge, organic. Their site doesn't state that Nad's is organic, but a lot of stores that sell natural organic items sell it, and when it was originally sold via TV here in NZ it was touted as being organic. I've been unable to contact them to confirm if their products are actually organic or not at the time of posting this, so I'm not claiming they specifically are without any confirmation. Nad's has a great facial wand which is brilliant for waxing your brows as it gives you perfect application control. I really love these kinds of products as I find I have a reaction to wax, even the stuff which is suppose to be for sensitive skin, and yet I've never reacted to Nad's. My reaction to wax is a rash that looks some what like I've been burnt (even though I haven't) and blisters.
Wow! Yes I am a DIY kinda gal. Especially when it comes to waxing. I am not super hairy but I find that I have to do it more often than not. I especially see it in the pocket book. I have purchased different wax and have had no success. So this is exciting to hear. Thanks
I do think the one from The Body Shop is almost identical in the ingredients list and as natural, if you look at what the ingredients truly are even if they are processed. I use it from time to time, with cotton strips, but find I always need to shave afterwards to get rid of all the hair. Might be that I'm not that good at waxing, or that my hairtype just don't lend itself to being waxed, or that it is a bad wax. Though, I have used ordinary wax with the same irritating results. What's the use of all that time and mess and hurt, if I still have to lather up and shave afterwards? Anyhow, next time I'm going to mix my own and see if that works better.
i have not waxed since i was in 8th grade!!!!
my friend waxed my legs and it was the most painful thing i felt then! after that i kinda never went back into waxing... but i heard the hair grow but a lot slower and thinner... so i think i'll give waxing another shot! this sounds like a good brand for me.. i've tried a few brands of wax and showed some reaction to it... organic is thebest way to go!

I have trouble with waxing myself and dealing with the pain. But natural organic ingredients like this, I'll have to try that! I'd love to try that so thank you so much for your article! Also, if you're looking a great chick flick, check out the Lebanese film "Caramel", about a beauty institute in the Lebanese capital, where they use sugar wax!
The only thing I wax is my eyebrows and that is only when I have the $$. I find waxing really hurts. My hairs are just so stubborn. Although I'm not a fan of shaving, it hurts a lot less (usually).
I do my own waxing. For some reason, going in is way more stressful for me, and when I do it myself it seems less painful for some reason. I'll have to look into this stuff!

I haven't heard about Moom before ... I prefer going to salon because it hurt me ...
Diamond are Girl Best Friend !!!
not a waxer. ive had bad luck in the past. i hate nair and veet so i pretty much just shave and get my brows threaded.

I have never had good luck waxing myself. I usually just get my eyebrows done at the nearest hair salon. Easier and faster.

sounds like something i would like to try
Never tried waxing..always shave cream & a razor.
Tried MOOM a few years ago and it left bumps. But I have sensitive skin. Give me threading.
I tried cold wax once, a few years ago. It didn't work though, I probably just didn't do it right. So I got an epilator a year ago and have been using that since, cuz I hate shaving and then having scratchy stubble grow out again. But I've been wanting to try a sugar wax for ages, so this sounds perfect!
oh! really awesome. i got a free jar from here and i wasn't sure if i can use it [is it lying?] xD and now i'll be sure to try. thank you : )
~ helen <33 :))
I just use the wax they have in the salon. It works well for me, besides the usual redness post-waxing.

In my experience, sugaring is infinitely preferable to waxing. I've tried the Moom product, and found it to be pretty good, but I think the best on the market is the Shobha Sugaring Kit.
ouch! i saw a cool youtube once of someone making it and using it and they made it look soooo easy i wanted to try too.. but didnt.. im not sure if i could do it.. ive never even been waxed prof, so doing it on myself.. ouch!
who loves makeup? me me ME!
oo i would love to try this...
I turned in my first 50 make-up points and anxiously awaited my beauty treat. When I opened it and it was wax, at first I will admit I was a bit disappointed. I already had a jar of Sally Hansen wax sitting on the bathroom shelf. Well, let me tell you, this wax is different. I go to the salon for my Brazilian but the rest I do myself and this wax really did the trick. It didn’t hurt as much and any mess was easily cleaned off with soap and water. I, like BabyLove, typically break out after I wax my lip – not this time. And, I love the fact that the strips are washable. I waxed then tossed the strip into the sink full of hot water. When I was done waxing, they were clean. I have since tossed my Sally Hansen wax and only use this. How foolish of me to question anything Meg would send my way! …silly silly girl!! :)
I dont wax...not that it scares me but I've never been able to get the hang of it. I will definitely have to try Moom out, since it's organic/natural. Anyone know if it's sold in stores?
This sounds like a must try.
personally, i like those sally hansen strips!
Babylove, please share your waxing expertise. I can never manage to wax at home without making the biggest, stickiest mess known to man.
Erk, BabyLove - you're a better woman than I. x_X; I tried waxing at home *once and only once*. It was a bit of a disaster to say the least.. I used an organic made product that was created here in Australia called Nads (http://www.nads.com.au/). It just didn't work for me.. I found it too hard to rip off my nether regions and even my legs - and it was just messy and annoying. I have gone to the professionals ever since!

love sugar-based wax! I don't know why, it seems hard to find now! argg!!
i wonder if it's better then nair or veet
This sounds like it's worth trying. I love the idea that you can re-use the cotton strips.
Organic 100% Natural Hair Remover? There few words are so tempting! As always natural products sold on me.
love this review thanks!!! i usually go to a salon to wax a couple times a year and it still hurts and dots everywhere and im afraid to try at home but maybe some day in the future thanks! :)
