CLARK'S BOTANICALS! EYE LOVE YOU!
Meg here! This blast is for Monday and I'm sorry you're getting it so early but I have to leave and get Eleni from the airport in about an hour and we have a lot of work to do to prepare for our Meg Head road Trip to Philadelphia and DC. I need to have my stuff together and I really wanted to give props to this line that I'm loving-Clark's Botanicals.
Here's where the story of the line starts, it's an awful tragedy but uplifting to know that when life hands you lemons you can start anew. The founder of Clarks Botanical's name is Francesco Clark. He was working at Harper's Bazaar when he suffered a crippling spinal injury from diving into a pool.
Not only did Francesco lose his ability to walk, but with his central nervous system impaired, he lost his ability to even sweat. This lead to lots of skin issues. Nothing worked for him. He turned to his doctor father who also was skilled in homeopathic remedies and Clark's Botanicals was born.
Here's a little information on the inner workings of www.megsmakeup.com. Eleni will send an email out that assigns what items we are to write about so that she is able to get our calendar together. I asked if I could please write about Clark's Botanicals. The company sent a myriad of products to try. I knew I was going to be traveling A LOT. I grabbed Clark's Botanicals Anti-Puff Eye Cream as fast as lightening! Boy am I glad I did!
The jar is .5 ounces and while I know all about TSA rules I couldn't remember exactly how much you were allowed. I hid my Anti-Puff Eye Cream in an inside pocket of my purse and said a silent prayer as it went through the X-Ray machine. I wasn't stopped and the purse wasn't searched and I could breathe a sigh of relief. This stuff is awesome. I mean it.
It has a little pump and one squirt on my fingertips is all I need for eye relief. It is amazing for flying! It is so light- the cream slides on clear so there's no residue. I've even used it over my makeup and no one (except me) is the wiser.
They say your eyes get puffy when your PMS-ing and super puffy in the days right before your period. They say alcohol contributes to puffiness. They say salty naughty foods, travel and just a general lack of a good night's sleep will leave you puffy. The above describes every aspect of me and my bad behavior all during New York Fashion week. I look at some pictures I took during all this bad behavior and Clark's Botanicals Anti-Puff Eye Cream make me look as though I live pure and saintly! Ha! I laugh in the face of pure and saintly!
I mean, I know there's a lot of vitamins and botanicals in there but Jeez Louise do they work wonders. It has a lot of Vitamin K and apparently that fights dark circles. I suffer from dark circles even when I've been behaving. I've been using this constantly and have noticed my dark circles don't seem as bad as they were. It is really a soothing and they say that you can use this cream on your smile and frown lines as well. I have to tell you I have not been doing that. It works so well on my eyes I don't want to dilute my stash. Does that make sense?
B-Glowing.com carries this entire line! Our writers all got different things to try and I'm wondering if Clark's Botanicals entire line is as fabulous as this Anti-Puff Eye Cream? I love the texture, I love that the bottle dispenses a perfect, small amount every time and I love how it works!
Do a little research, I did as soon as I tried this to see if I was the only person having such great results. I'm not alone on my endorsement of this. I see Clark's Botanicals has been winning awards all over the place! My Anti-Puff Eye Cream won Insider's Beauty Award from the CEW. Their products have also won Allure's Editor's Choice Awards and their Ultra Rich Lip Balm is on every starlet's lip. Just saw it in this month's W Magazine as well!
B-Glowing always has the best of the best so it is no surprise to e tat they're hip to this brand. They always seem to have the very best on there. Go on and click around and check out all of the incredible indie brands that they carry. You can easily kill an hour and satisfy beauty retail therapy!
If you are looking to satisfy eye puffiness though, I had a lot of luck with my Clark's Botanicals and you can bet they have a repeat customer in me!
OK Megsmakeup writers! What did you get to try from this line? What did you think? Have any of you tried out Clark's Botanicals? What did you think? How about B-Glowing?
Awesome-right?

These look great. Thanks for the reviews
What a great story behind the brand! While I like looking around b-glowing, everything is (if I recall correctly, it has been a month or two since I've been to the site) a bit too expensive for my pocketbook.
The product sounds amazing and I love the story behind the brand! Thanks Meg!

Just a little too expensive for me ($87 for half an ounce). But it's great to know that it works!

Holy crap! That's a LOT too expensive for me, unfortunately. It's much better than the $355 for their Cellular Lifting Serum, but STILL! Maybe I'll save my pennies for the $19 lip balm and support this cool company.
A bit pricey, but it sounds great!
love it lol
Ooh something that will deflate my hayfever induced puffy eyes with homeopathic botanical extracts?! YES PLEASE! This product sounds amazing Meg, thanks for letting me know about it! When I finish my current eye-cream I will look into picking some of this up. God knows I need something extra heavy-duty to combat the effects my allergies have on my eyes. Have a great trip!! <3

I'm a bit conflicted about this product. It says in the info that they use Isoflavin, so you're basically talking about a dietary estrogen. I understand that studies have been done which show that this used on skin does help to smooth the skin and reduce puffiness and wrinkles, but what concerns me is how much of it is absorbed into the body and how that might effect me personally as a woman with a hormone imbalance. Personally I have cut out as much dietary estrogens as possible from my diet because I do find that, as an example, eating a lot of soy products makes me sick. While I imagine that using this product in small doses or for a short period of time wouldn't be an issue, mayhaps, I do wonder what using a product on my skin with Isoflavines in it would do to my system.
Did Francesco ever recover?
I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that his condition is permanent.
Looks gorgeous, but ouch at the price!
Lily - Mineral makeup Junkie!!!
Excellent review of a product line I was not familiar with. The price point just stops me cold, though. I appreciate that Meg and her team bring us everything from drugstore bargains to diva delicacies. Enjoy Philly.
So glad to hear about a product that actually does what it claims! But ouch on the price points, unfortunately will not be a brand I am able to try for myself. Too bad, the story behind the company is great and sounds like they put a lot of thought into the products. Enjoy your trip!
No problem, I am happy to read it early! I hope you guys have great fun on your adventures. That story is so sad though, but at least a great line got born. I find it inspiring when lines have a history to why they got created. I love reading these reviews. The title is so cute to, "Eye love you!" AHa.
Let's all enjoy the Summer sunshine!
i've never heard of them! their stuff sounds pretty cool though. thanks for the review!
Yowza, I'm put back by the price of the products too. This sounds so tempting to try though. I have been getting lots of dark circles and heavy bags under my eyes from major lack of sleep and stress (poo). Thanks for including the background story, Meg. It's always interesting to learn more about the faces behind the line and how the company came to be. Have a fun and safe trip girls!
oh how i wish i could afford this. I am on a tight budget right now (trying to save for a new Television) and i have 2 wedding showers and 2 weddings coming up....and my best friend just had her first baby (she is adorable everyone) so i am wiped out of money right now :*(maybe someday.....
Sounds like a fantastic product and a FANTASTIC brand! How inspiring to go through all that and still keep on going. But the price? A little steep when you take in exchange rate. They don't ship internationally either, relying on an expensive shipping forwarding company which is a bit sad. Hopefully they release in Australia so I might get to try them!
Have not heard of this product before. Thank you for the information and will check it out.
hahah Meg, you sneaker, sneaking it on the plane like that! Sounds lovely, i have not tried or even heard of this brand until you just told me right now. see that is why i come on megs makeup.. to learn all this stuff since i am such a newbie really.have a ton of fun in phillly with the gurls!
who loves makeup? me me ME!
That eye cream sounds wonderful, but I just looked on the website and can't get past the "Nourishing Youth Serum". Oh my goodness, what more could you possibly want out of a product?! I have never used anything from this line before, but I will definitely keep that youth serum on my 'I want' list!
I have never heard of this brand. It is so nice to hear the story about how something so successful came out of such a tragic accident.I LOVE products with a dispenser, it prevents you from wasting some, especially when it's a pricey product. That's one of the things I like about my Body Shop tea tree oil blemish lotion.
Wow this product sounds great. I could really use some of this stuff. I have been getting dark circles and another dark sport somewhere around my eye..I clean my face, moisturize, exfoliate, put toner. and nothing seems to be working to get them out. This def looks like it would do me wonders. Thx for this great review =)
Thanks Meg! First of all inspiring story of not letting life happen to you but you happening to life. Grab it by the you know what. Anyhow I don't fortunately generally suffer from puffy eyes but that lavender cleanser sounds great.
I love stories where something good is born from something bad. I have never tried this stuff before but it sounds wonderful!!
i've never heard of this line... but anti eye puff cream yes please!!!!i'm a hardcore eye cream lover.. mainly because i have the worst case of puffy eyes and dark circles... i should really sleep more often and eat better lol! i'm really digging this line! will def check it out :)

Yea they look awesome! I'd love to try the eye cream. It sounds magic! By theway the packaging is smart. I like black and white combination.
Great review but I dont think I would ever be able to justify that amount of money!
What a story! They are way to expensive though

Great review. I'm skeptical of expensive eyecreams after having spent a bit on an expensive eyecream that did not live up to its promise. I'll be looking out for more reviews on this.
A beauty line with a great story behind it. This sounds like its worked instantly! I still don't believe in eye creams because I never see results >< Could this be the one?
http://skinniegenes.blogspot.com/
I only knew about the lip balm which is very good. Will be ordering the eye product because like vanillabeanlatte, I have bought many eye creams and gels and nothing has worked well.
Great review! I haven`t tried Clark`s Botanicals, in fact, I didn`t know this brand till now. However, the eye cream sounds awesome. I will investigate if I can find the brand in my country.
Sorry for his injuries and I hope for a continued healing. But the eye cream ..with caffeine ..price makes me hurt now. :(
Oh my gosh!! What a tragic story, but talk about making lemonade out of lemons!! Looks to be a bit pricey to me at this point, but for all things beauty...sometimes cost just can't be a factor!! I'll have to file this in the back of my mind so when days of $ come back I'll be sure to try it!! Thanks for the awesome review!!
I love everything behnd and about this line...truly a company that cares!I'm going to try the Kojic Cream" and will report back in a couple of weeks.I am familar with the line, the new and very striking packaging caused me not to recognize at first.I think the "pricing" comes along wiht the very fnest botanical and holistic ingredients which are also expensive to use in a product but highly effective...you use less product and it does more! :)Great review and I think it all sounds fabulous!
Man I would LOVE to try that anti-puff eye cream. It sounds magical! Want want want. I love the story behind it and that good things can come from adversity.

Let me add that the Clark's Botanicals packaging is amazing. It's not even black and white, it's dark green and white! I'm here in Boston with Meg and I can't wait to go through her stuff and grab that eye cream of hers!
Sounds great, I could really use some of that. I drink a lot of coffee (i should cut back) and I think the caffiene is making my eyes puffy :(
lover of beauty, sharer of opinions http://prettylightsbeauty.blogspot.com/
the price is a bit too much but as a person with permanent dark circles i appreciate any article about products that may get rid of them. Please, Meg, let us know more about products that may get rid of dark circles... or at least disguise them :)
I love indie companies with great intentions and backgroungs but this one is far too pricey for my.
I'm afraid I just can afford the lip balm, but I want to read the review of them all.
iHerb Coupon - IJO270
Im going to try it (=
Sounds great!
Great review
I haven't tried either line but both look amazing !
