EOS LIPBALM!

EOS
Sweetassgal here today to bring Green Chi Tuesdays into the future...or I guess in this case...to relive the past.  I grew up on Hannah Barbera cartoons like Scooby Doo and the Jetsons.  These were the kind of cartoons that had you laughing on Saturday mornings and then running outside to play Mystery Machine in an old refrigerator box and drive your flying car!  In my youthful adolescence we really thought that by 2010 we'd have condos on the moon and dinners that came in pill form which took 3 seconds to turn into an instant gourmet feast.  Alas...the world has not progressed the way Mr. Hanna and Mr. Barbera once prophesized but every once in a while a product comes along that reminds you of the kind of world they had envisioned.  EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm is just such a product.

When I first got this in my pack from Meg I kind of overlooked it.  At first glance I thought it was like a mini ped-egg or something.  Then I gave it a second look and was really intrigued.  This space age looking little pod was actually a lip balm!  Fascinated I ripped open the packaging and tried to pull off the lid.  I pulled and pulled and couldn't get the cap off.  You see, I wasn't forward thinking enough to realize this is not your traditional applicator.  I opened my mind to new possibilities, gave it a quick twist, and off it came revealing a round bump of moisturizing goodness.  Up it went to my lips and I swirled it around my top then bottom lip.  To be honest, it was a little odd to me and it just didn't feel right in my hand.  Again...my Virgo linear thinking here so I had to jolt myself out of it and realize there is more than one way to swipe a balm.  I gave it another pass and realized this is lip balm for LAZIES!!!  Hold your lips in their natural position (don't make the make up face O) and with just one quick sweep the large round balm quickly covers both lips at once!

Meg sent me the sweet mint flavor and I was SO touched.  This just proves what she has said all along.  She really thinks about each of us when she puts these packs together.  She knows our likes and dislikes, our needs and our wants.  I LOVE mint lip balms and this one sets itself apart from many others because it's not a spicy mint but a delicately sweet and subtle spearmint scent.  The first thing you notice is that it's super, super creamy...almost like lotion for the lips...and it doesn't leave a waxy film behind, it's just a feeling of softness with a slight moisturizing kick.  It was so fun trying out this new little contraption that I kept using it over and over throughout the day just to show off!  Like I said, this is a light coverage balm and great for summertime application so I don't think it would stand up to harsh winter cold like the heavily medicated balms I sometimes use would.  But for now I'm enjoying using the cute little mint colored orb whenever I need a little extra moisturizing without heavily coating my pucker.  The men in your life will love it because it's such a sweet tasting soft mint that won't leave them with girlie residue on their lips when you smooch your sweetie.  I know my husband hates that and he didn't even wince when he kissed me with the EOS on!

EOS is the Evolution of Smooth and I think that this lip balm epitomizes the namesake.  It comes in Honeysuckle Honeydew, Summer Fruit and my Sweet Mint.  If the smooth sphere application is too Judy Jetson for you then they have a traditional stick balm as well in Pomegranite Raspberry and Vanilla Bean.  For just $3.99 it's a great deal and makes me even happier with its USDA Certified 95% Organic rating, fortified with Shea Butter and Vitamin E, and is petrolatum and paraben free!  That's just an all around great little product and I know others are liking it too.  Once you acclimate to the round balm it's really a lot of fun!  Whip it out in line at the grocery store and just watch the oohh's and aaahhh's as onlookers marvel at your quirky little space age and yet organic conditioning balm.  In my mind I'm already hopping into my jet pack for an afternoon of shopping at the sky mall.  Too fun...thanks EOS!  GLAM ON!!!!

WHO ELSE IS LOVING THEIR EOS LIP BALMS? BEAM ME UP!

Just wanted to mention that I've seen this featured in at least one or two beauty magazines! I almost dismissed it, figuring it was another over priced high end lipbalm... and then I found out it was $4! I'm a sucker for cool design, and the EOS balm just seems awesome. And, one of the magazine reviews I read said it lasted on their lips for HOURS AND HOURS... however, I'm more inclined to trust you, sweetassgal, regarding the moisturizing power, than those magazine ladies. Unfortunately, my lips are really really really dry from Accutane, so I'm not sure if I should bother with this balm. :(ps. I really liked that you included the kissability factor ;) If I had a boyfriend right now, I'd def have to go get some of this EOS balm!!!

They're more work and if you have long nails it's a mess. Even if the lipgloss wasn't that great, I'd still like to have it just b/c of the packaging lol

It's so funny that you posted this momma! On Derek's birthday, he leaned in for a kiss while I had my lips all done up with my red-ish/sparkly lip gloss. Once he realized what he had just done he pulled away with pretty lips just like me, hehe! Then he says, and I quote, "You need to not use that stuff, and find something I can bear! Ugh!" He wiped away his sparkly lips and then we both had bare naked lips for the rest of the evening. Needless to say, I can never wear any kind of gloss or lipstick around him because we both know that he will take his hand a swipe it over my mouth, taking away the only color brought to my face. I'm going to have to try this!

What a wonderful form this one has. I can imagine it must be much easier finding in the purse amongst all those lipglosses, mascara tubes and whatnot that lip balms usually resemble in shape. And I must say, I always love it when people are inventive, and this one is inventive to be sure. Now, do you think they sell these in Sweden anywhere?

EOS is really fabulous. When I first had the opportunity to try this I totally thought of SAG. I was going to bring it to her attention for review. But low and behold she already is reviewing it. Yeah!! I really do love this lip balm. I too initially had trouble opening it. But you really do quickly get used to it and learn how it works. I also sampled the sweet mint. It so mild and divine. And the texture is amazing. It is extremely soft and non-sticky. it really make your lips supple. But I tend to agree that this may not be particularly long lasting and therefore less effective in the bitter cold winter months(depending on where you live). This product is way too much fun. I think that I applied too often because my ball has actually fallen out a few times. Maybe I am too rough with balls. Take your mind out of the gutter people! But I overall really love EOS and I would purchase it again! Buy it. Your lips will love you for it and you will probably never have more fun applying lip balm!

Another great review SAG! I'm currently using ELF lip balm under all my lippies. It was a great find for only a $1 that actually worked on my dry dry lips. I love the way this balm looks and I am going to track me down one so I can give it a try. $4 and a futuristic looking package? Count me in! Side note: I love the old cartoons like Flintstones and Yogi Bear. Whatever happened to those wonderful cartoons?

honeysuckle honeydew?! 2 of my very fave scents/flavors! I never see them paired together! this stuff sounds great. i have a really hard time finding good balms that are moisturizing. right now i am using vickery and clarke intense moisture balm, which is thusfar my fave balm EVER...it healed my chapped lips within 3 days! but honeysuckle honeydew sounds a little too tempting for me...i might have to go there!

I love the cool packaging of this balm.  The futuristic orb shape is really cool-looking.  I am such a sucker for uniquely packaged products.  SAG,  glad to know that I was not the only one envisioning 2010 as life on the Jetsons!   The all-natural, organic formula sounds right up my alley.  I am addicted to lip balms.   I think I have about 20 right now.  I just got the BurtDay package from Burt's Bees stocked with 7 new balms and glosses.   Lip balm heaven! My current fav is Burt's Pomegranate Replenishing balm.  I hope to pick some of this up when I wean down my lip balm supply.  Has anyone seen this EOS in stores?  If so, where?

Wow that is so cool! I really like the look of it. I have never seen anything like it! And it sounds like it's a great product too! Very new-age looking like you said. I like the lip balms that are creamier like you said this one was as opposed to sticker or slicker. I'll have to give this a try if I ever come across it!

OMG! That balm sounds so amazing, from it's appearance to the way you put it on, down to it's smell. I would love to get my hands on this, and knowing me I probably will. It's so cute and futuristic, I know that no one around here (where I stay) owns one, and I'd love to be the first one with my hands on it. I'm the type of person that has all the products and accesories that know one has ever heard of before. I love stepping outside of the box. I've been reading a lot of reviews on EOS, I just won some of their shaving cream and heard that it's pretty amazing I must get my hands on this. Thanks for the cute and informative review!!!

GREAT Review! It realy does everything SAG has writting down. I really really love this lip balm, it's my new favorite. I too got sweet mint, the smell is heaven, like spearming gum, and the soft silky feel on my lips is extrodinary. It does not feel sticky or heavy at all. Very light. And I too can't stop re-applying this to my lips all day long. I didn't get the Judy Jetson cool egg but I really really love my Wilma Flinstone traditional packaging. Probably safer with me, aha... I would probably break the egg.  Like SAG said Meg does really thinks of each one of us when she puts the packs together. Thank you thank you!!!! I will definitely replinished when I'm out of this.

I love this lip balm, I got it in the traditional stick from in, sweet mint.  The orb design is so clever, so was your remark about lip balm for lazies--too funny SAG!  Love the way you think sister! This stuff perks your lips right up!  My whole family and I use it regularly.  It smells so great, we all fight over it all the time.  I guess I need to order more; I'm getting the orb design, they are really going to want that one! Great review, SAG, I loved Hannah Barbera Catoons, good times! YOICKS!

Hmph!  I got no egg.  No toy for me, no sir.  But why should I complain, because Meg obviously knows me too well.  She must have known I would never have discovered the secret entrance way as SAG did, and would probably have taken to bouncing that egg up against my bulletin board to cut the monotomy of my afternoon low.  Instead, Meg sent me a chubby tube of the stuff, scored with tiny, tiny ribs to keep it safely poised inside my fist.  And inside that?  a chubby big cylinder of the same velvety, minty balm to sooth my parched lips.  The minute I saw it I opened it and slathered it on, and we have been inseparable ever since.  Who needs eggs?

I haven't tried the stick yet. But I do have both. Wonder which I will like better? I love the ball. But at least with the stick I won't run the risk of the ball falling out. And I do still have to sometimes work to open it and close it. Love this stuff. And in my previous post I forgot to thank you SAG for the fantastic cartoon love!! Brings back the memories.

These little balls of lip relief are A D O R A B L E!  I would just love to try them all!  I had to laugh at all the comments about the kissability factor!  I work days and my man works nights. Sometimes when I'm getting ready for work, I'll be all lipsticked & glossed up, ready to roll and he'll wake up to use the bathroom and as soon as he comes out I'll purposefully place precise, loving kisses on the top of his bald head and face for him to discover later that day when he gets up again and sees himself in the bathroom mirror!  I laugh all the way to work!   I have always wondered how guys can even stand to lean in for a kiss if they see gobs of colorful/sticky/sparkling glaze on our lips!  They must close their eyes and tell themselves "Getting through the goop will be SO worth it!" These little orbs of lip relief Sweetassgal expertly spoke of today would make completely magnificent little gifts inside of in gauzy little bags for shower favors!  Or maybe you could put them on the plates before dinner parties and tell everybody to open them up and smooth out their lips before they begin their frenzied attack on the burning barbequed ribs you are serviing or use them after!!  I see possibilites galore for these things!  So affordable!  Such yummy tastes!  Oh I'm thinking some little girl parties with lots of "Can I try yours?" questions flying back and forth between the giggling girls and the colorful lipbalms!  Or maybe an evening game where your mate is blindfolded and you rub that round smooth tasty orb across their lips while they try vainly to imagine what the heck THAT was???  LOL!!!!!!  I think it should perhaps come with a tiny little spoon or applicator so that after you have glazed it across your lips for the ka-billionth time you can dig that remainer out without using your fingernail as a scoop!  Think of this!  You could save the empty container and bring it with you on trips and use it to put your rings or earrings in so they don't get lost!

Hmmmm..... I'm going to have to say not the product for me. I LOVE lipstick, lip gloss, lip balm. I even try all of my daughters lippies she gets from Justice (everything girlie for a pre-teen) just because I love the feeling of putting on a new yummy smelling lipgloss. I even like the all organic lip balm that smell like real fruit and vegetables. But the one thing I must get out of this obsession is to pucker and pout my lips while applying my lipstick, lip balm, lip gloss. The lip sphere looks cool, but I don't think I would look cool using it. LOL!

Haha, like many of the other ladies here I have the big boyfriend problem with lip producs so this sounds like something of a lifesaver! I just wonder if they do any other flavours/scents? I've never been a great lover of minty stuff on the lips - strange, I love gum and mints and all that but just don't like minty lip products D: I'd definitely, definitely purchase if they did something fruity or vanilla. Right now, though, I'm still strongly considering 'cause you've mentioned a lot of good points and I'm struggling to think of enough cons to outweight them! :D

I like the rubberized container and the large size because it was easy to find in my pocket.  Even though it is all natural I never had any problems with it melting in my pocket. When the Body Shop is charging 6-8 dollars for a chapstick sized lib balm, $3.99 is a great deal for this product.  I would continue to use this product and keep it as part of my lip-balm arsenal; since it's natural, it doesn't leave a waxy film behind, has cool packaging and has a good fragrance.... I would love it more if they made one that looked like a Colt 1911.
