SWEET SPOT MIST!
Sweetassgal here! bringing you some SweetSpot love this Green Chi Tuesday!
I doubt anyone who has ever seen Bull Durham can forget Crash's passionate rant to Annie to which she replied in a melting hot butter voice..."Oh my!". I love that movie and watch it every time its on just for that scene. I think its one of the sexiest scenes ever committed to celluloid that doesn't actually involve sex (much like when Robert Redford washes Meryl Strep's hair in Out of Africa...yeowsa!). Annie's character just oozes confidence and sexuality. I'm in awe of her command of seduction. If could harness even HALF of her sexual charisma AND pull off garters and an apron in broad daylight I'd be one hot mama!
I fall somewhere between Annie Savoy and Grace Adler when it comes to sexual confidence. I'd like to think I could seduce a man by tying him to a bed and reading poetry all night but history has proven my attempts would make better fodder for an episode of Will and Grace. Case in point...the night I got engaged. On a very wet and rainy weekend we rented a house with an outdoor hot tub on a hillside in Bodega Bay. Having just said "yes" to my sweetie and feeling particularly romantic we grabbed a glass of wine, stripped to our skivvies and headed outside to the hot tub. It was perched high up on a deck that was three levels up and it was still raining. Trying oh so hard to be sexy and NOT make him regret proposing to me I strutted up the stairs, wine in one hand...towel folded in the other leaving me completely naked.
I turned to negotiate the second level of stairs my feet slipped out from underneath me and I went flying backwards off the staircase and into a giant potted tree! My derriere was wedged between the pot and the tree trunk and my newly betrothed had to yank me out of it amidst hysterical laughter! Safe to say the seduction was ruined but we will NEVER forget the night we pledged our love.
So how does someone bump up their sexual confidence once you've survived THAT humiliation? Concentrate on what you can control...i.e. take good care of your girlie bits! SweetSpots Balancing Mist is the perfect partner for upping the confidence factor in the "down there" department. I received the Citrus Galbanum scent from Meg and was instantly taken with the light scent. The website describes it as "Lighthearted with a sexy side. Pink grapefruit and tangerine oils are naturally antibacterial and smell refreshing, not fruity. Made more mysterious with galbanum, used (and used and used) for centuries as an aphrodisiac. (thank us later). " Freshly washed the next morning I applied the light mist to the recommended area and set about my day. Though it can be reapplied as needed (especially if you are a really active person or live in the Valley during July) I only needed the one application to stay SweetSpot fresh all day. I was a little skeptical at first because I was raised that if you use soap and water and wash daily that is all you should ever need. But the ingredients in the balancing mist consist of a blend of essential oils, aloe vera, grape seed extract, vitamins and other beneficial minerals so I think its safe to use for light external ONLY refreshment. On the down side it does contain methylparabens to combat bacteria and I'm not thrilled with that but it does feel oddly comforting to know that you have all day deodorant protection in places other than just your pits. Feel free to get closer ladies!
There are lots of tips and other great products at the website. They recommend (as do I) NOT using bubbles in your bath because it throws off your feminine ph balance and they have additional products like Spot Fresh Cleansing Wash and on-the-go wipettes that help maintain your bodies natural ph level. Their products are all about keeping you fresh and fabulous and treating your "sweet spot" with the care and respect it deserves! As they say..."You're all your sweet spots got. Treated with love, it will help you love better in return. So embrace your womanhood and lose the talc! It's not SweetSpot Labs approved!". Annie Savoy would...and now armed with my SweetSpot's Balancing Mist I can have the confidence boost to be a little less loveable romantic comedienne and a little more sexy screen siren! GLAM ON!!

ME TOO, Kate, I don't shower everyday either! Say it proud sister! My skin is already waaaaay to dry, so it is sponge baths a plenty for me. In fact, fellow Caludalie lover, I like to use Caudalie Cleansing Water on my pits, works wonders! I admire your honesty and ability to be vulnerable. You can always tell when a product review hits a nerve, look at us, we have sooo much to say. So true, Champ washing your hair everyday is unnecessary, unless of course you need to remove the burnt hair smell :). Hey Osbornekeo, your review made me think of how funny it would be to post "visiting hours" for the SweetSpot, I laughed out loud when I read your bit. I wish we could all meet and spend a weekend at some fabulous beach front hotel, you girls are the sisters of my heart.
KATE! I love that you posted that!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Me too! It's like, if I know I'm not making out with anyone, what difference does one day make? love it...
I have to say that this subject is a little offsides for a man and as a man you wouldn't dare try this product. But Meg was testing it out saying how the dry air was effecting her sweet spot and this mist was helping. I was feeling a little dry behind so I just took little spritz... call me adventurous! But you know what... It was like a little WD-40 for a squeaky hinge.
Meggy showed me this product and at first I just laughed. WHAT???? But then I got to thinking...how perfect...I'm a perfume junkie...for my neck, hair, wrists, etc. I have maybe 5-6 perfumes on my desk and even more at home. I love getting complimented on my "scent." Why not take this even further??? Megs site is awesome for this, because stylemamma is right..where else can we talk about this? We've all had long days at work, running around, and even if no one is going to be "visiting" that area at the end of the day, it still feels nice to just KNOW that you're "fresh"." I really recommend this product...I was worried it would feel wet, or almost slimey, but it didn't at all. It's not too much...feels quite nice on the sweet spot!
It just doesn't get any better than this, does it ladies? Meg's Makeup is an unapologetic full service site. Here we are covered from head to toe, the internal and external, while somehow not forgetting the emotional. I LOVE THAT!!! What I like about this product is that it can be used without affecting delicate pH balance. Because the vagina is a self cleaning oven this will be the perfect compliment to our.......... ovens!! Sweetass, I love your engagement story! Grace is hilarious and you are too! We all know that a sense of humor is very sexy and fortunately my husband thinks I am sexy at the most unexpected moments. When ever I try too hard I end up catching my hair on fire with the scented candles that I used to set my scene of seduction. TRUE STORY. Mjsred, I love the idea of using this after a work out and concur balance is everything!
FABULOUS and FUN review girl!!! Bet he's still glad he asked you. ;)I received the "Lavender/Geranium" scent # 14 and must admit that I like it...a lot!It gives you that little "burst of fresh" that IS needed sometimes and currently I'm toting it along in my gym-bag because after an hour of hard cardio,I just know my trainer will appreciate the fact that it "freshenes you up" just a bit!Not a big believer in douches and the like but as this is an external-only product,I'm all in and intend to try the other scents as well! Nothing better than a good smelling cookie to my way of thinking no matter how "natural" you prefer things? I'll love having it onhand when the temps start to hover@ 100 as well. What other beauty-site would DARE to chat about sweet spots? LOLROF! LOVE MEG'S!!!I will NOT however ever give up my bubble baths...I know,I know, but my world would be a dark place without LUSH also! Balance...it's all about it!
Well ladies, this is a tough one for me to review. There might have been a time when I was living the life of a sensual temptress, that after sultry encounters, before scurrying back to work or to life outside of the intoxicating world of sensual liaisons, I probably would have carried this stuff in my purse to both freshen and assure me that any dalliances wouldn’t be noted by anyone within a 6 inch radius of my body!! I’m just saying ‘might have been’ I’m not claiming anything here of course. This does seem like a fabulous idea especially if it’s truly in the proper PH area! I read one comment which called Sweet Spot spray like having a ‘bidet in a bottle’, that’s a nice clean thought isn’t it? I received No. 14. Geranium Lavendar to try. (Note the unusual spelling of Lavender) hmmmm - I’m guessing this makes this product unique right there because of the spelling. I think the fragrance is very pleasant and light and I might try it on other areas of my body but the INTENDED product recipient probably isn’t going to experience it unless I take a brave pill because I am leery of any product with a perfume (PH balance or not) on private areas!I can’t use any bubble bath or ANY products with perfumes - or it’s welcome to Yeast Infection City and NOBODY likes to go there!!! When we go there - it’s like a slow decent into a one-woman-hell-hole! Pretty much literally am I right!! YES I am right on this one! Sane women with yeast infections turn into frenzied, diabolical, grimacing, wild-eyed, shuddering pillars of irritation and like little kids who have to go to the bathroom...we want to put our hands over our smoldering areas, push our knees together and provide comfort and a protective barrier from anyone who is thinking of visiting our toxic feminine innards on yeast hell days! So for me - if a product has a perfumed scent to spray down there - I immediately think the words...”Be Afraid...Be Very Afraid!” After I had my children, at the hospital they had me soak my injured personal area in DREFT and I was shocked but the nurses said it was for the healing properties in it. Ever since, if I want to have a huge soothing luxurious bubble bath or when my grandchildren come over and want a bubble bath...out comes the friendly - bottle of liquid Dreft! I prefer liquid over powder as it bubbles faster and cleaner! I have never had any infections or any problems from soaking in Dreft! Just the opposite! It’s a healer for the mind and the body!I think overall this product and the other complimentary products made by Sweet Spot are probably just the thing for us ladies...fantastic idea for sure! If it doesn’t cause any problems, then I’d say go for it and carry it in your purse as a personal pick-me-up for use during monthly issues, as a wrap up to intimate moments or just to have on hand when you are sitting somewhere and think...”Oh my gosh! Is THAT me? Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!” Then imagine running to the ladies room, whipping down your undies (if you wear any) and administering a clean, cool, refreshing Sweet Spot ‘spritz! spritz’’! Meanwhile, in the stall next to you, you just may hear...”Hey! Can I use some of that?” So be prepared to share.

Megken, not only are you hilarious, but one of the most supportive men ever! You rock!! :)
I'm going to share something here with you girls and I don't want any judgement: I don't shower everyday. This is for several reasons: First, not only to I not like to wash my hair every day, but I can't wash my hair everyday or its a dry, straw-bed mess. Secondly, I can't shave every day or my skin gets really red-bump irritated. Thirdly, I just plain don't have time to shower everyday...I'd really rather sleep 20 extra minutes and be a little greasy. But, especially in hot climates...your hair and skin might be ok, but DOWN THERE...yikes. I've had the SweetSpot "shampoo" before, but this time the mist in basil cucumber was fabulous. It's like spraying Caudalie Beauty Elixir on your cooch. You're fresh and hyrdarated and there's no unwanted "ooze." A+
Katie
Okay--I WILL go away after this as my head is making me nuts. Angie, I had almost (note: "almost") forgotten that quote from "Bull Durham." Be still my heart. I could watch Kevin Costner deliver it a thousand times. Wait--I believe I have!
Katerock, didn't mean to leave you out--my sister Ruthie sees several doctors due to a rare form of rheumatoid arthritis which overcame her in her late 20's. They wanted to know WHY she showered daily unless she was running a marathon and said it's uncessary; they advised her to sponge-bathe (very long story but appropriate for all women). My stylist went crazy on me a few months ago and told me to quit washing my hair daily, as it does damage, no matter how strong you think it is. Ruthie's stylist gave her the same lecture and we feel so free!
Entering perimenopause, no matter how much one washes, it seems to not be fresh like it used to be. And dogs go head first, which has to be the most embarrassing. This is just the thing to cure the problem. A must buy.
Kudos to Sweet Spot for they are how I first found megsmakeup.comI have tried nearly everything they have, I'll tell you why. My oh-so-awful, obnoxious, dreadful sister-in-law (married to my brother) once commented to me how my mom could really use a douce. Yikes! My poor, over 70 mother. Geez, could you ever hear something so mortifying! After suffering the initial shock of her candor, I secretly vowed to never let it be said that my girliest of girl parts smelled funky. I'm a faithful servent to the entire Sweet Spot line. I too am not a fan of the parabens, but in this case I am willing to compromise for the greater good.
Ladies (and gent!), I'm thinking I'll skip the gym today because I just burnt off so many calories laughing at all these great posts! And can I just say that I love the honesty on this site? It's so freaking wonderful and sincere while also being quite hilarious sometimes. I'm still trying to decide if I'm brave enough to try this product... and to stop showering everyday.
Ah, where to start? My version is "Geranium Lavender" and I love it and the non-aerosol spray. How did we exist before products like this? How did I function before mini-pads? I recall having a horrific staph infection in my leg and was hospitalized. The nurse screamed at me repeatedly for flushing paper towels down the toilet. They were Cottonelle Wipes and she refused to look at the package! I just feel so much better, more confident with feminine hygiene products--and I think I just wrote a lame commercial like the ones where two women sit whispering, discussing "personal" things over coffee. Other brands tend to smell like cheap bathroom cleaner and leave you with a hard-to-remove powder coating. Angie, I'm so sorry, but I'm picturing you and can't stop laughing at your falling (I have a perverse sense of humor). Stylemama, burning hair is SO seductive; the smell is like no other. Laughing more. Megken--leave your day job and keep writing (and you think I'm kidding, poor man). And Jeanasina, you won't believe this but it's true: The skin on my mom's hands was affected hormonally after she gave birth to me. It split completely and bled non-stop; her hands had to be bandaged in gauze, like a "mummy" (she she have been a "mommy"). Only my dad and grandparents could pick me up. She was at wit's end and, brilliant woman that she was, soaked her hands in Dreft and didn't know why--they healed completely! Evidently they haven't changed the formula.
Just a quick note...the folks at SweetSpot have an unscented line as well so if you have concerns about scents you can try those. Also...I don't think these are necessarily perfumed. I think its natural essential oils that give it the light scent and not harsh perfumes. I also use Lush organic bath bombs but I don't use bubbles. I hope that helps!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
i love the story! i am sort of skeptical to try any products down there, but i really had a good laugh :)
Haha, the things people come up with!
OMG kate you are so funny !!!! and I want that product so bad kills bacterias??? and smelllsss good ? awsome and I find the packaging sooooo FUN btw !

Great post, Im always very scared about feminine washes, because "down there" is a very sensitive area. I find summers eve unscented sensitive skin works really nicely. Not anything special, but it leaves me feeling confident that I am clean, without interrupting the pH balance.
haha no way thats so cool. pH balance?!? i suppose we have a pH balance for everything like skin and such. but thats really cool i might buy one
I try not to mess down there, I guess it never occurred to me all parts of our body could benefit from a little help!
I loved reading everyone reaction and the review for this..terribly amused, I have to say ;)It does sound like an awesome product. We've all been there, ladies!
So true we have all been there and this is something I've never thought about, being sold or that I needed, but once I thought about it now I realize how many times this would have come in handy. Living in a humid climate... ya know. I think this will be one of my soon can't live withouts
Style may be on the surface, but you can be deep and still have some - Clarissa Gough

Cute story, lol. Personally I wouldn't put parabens anywhere though, esp. my 'sweet spot' :)
Lily - Mineral makeup Junkie!!!
entertaining story, haha! this looks like something i wouldn't NEED to spend my money on, but if i received it, can't say I'd be complaining.
Haha nice story
Strange, won't use this on me. Area should be free from any chemicals.
<33

Hmm... I may consider buying this. It sounds like an interesting product!

This is pure genius, ladies!
I can never find this.
