HUGO NATURALS! WHOLE FOODS! GREEN CHI TUESDAYS!
Ladies, so sorry this is so late! It seems like "When it rains it pours!!" We have been having so many readers it crashed the site! Bear with me! The best is yet to come!
Meg here to talk about Whole Paycheck, I mean Whole Foods. I am a new Meg. I am a big girl. I have a new place and a great job and a need to go to the grocery store. I am so in love with Whole Foods, I'm not even a foodie but I get almost the same rush as when I walk into Sephora.
I spent almost 40 minutes in their beauty aisle tonight. There was Organic Apoteke that we knew and ofcourse a lot of old faves like Pacifica and Weleda they even had our recent fave California Baby It was like being in a Sephora! A delicious smelling, all natural Sephora with a soup, salad and taco bar! Could you just die of happiness? If I could have walked over to the liquor aisle, popped open a bottle of bubbly, strolled over and made myself a taco and then spend the rest of the night reading labels and sniffing lotions I woud have been in Heaven! Drinkies, food and products? Fantastic!
I couldn't believe all of the brands I had never heard of before and am eager to try each one. I had some sushi, some rose brut and soon~some Hugo Naturals Shower Gel in French Lavender. I am Meg. I get sent so many beauty products I never buy anything. I had to buy this though. First of all, it said "calming" on the bottle. I've been going through a bunch of changes lately and "calming" time is my 5 minutes under a steaming shower. If this HUGE bottle (seriously-it's huge 16 oz-could bring me more tranquility at $8.99 then I'm in!) Also, I've never heard a peep out of this line and I love to discover new, green, easy to find and inexpensive luxuries!
The verdict? I got home. Hopped into my hot shower, let the craziness of the day just melt away and then I applied my brand-new Hugo Naturals Shower Gel in French Lavender. Heres what I found, it's great for summer, it's light all the way arounds and lathers and soaps up quickly. It came out clear, I equate clear with light and and airy.In the winter I like a creamier, thicker gel~whiter gel. This one wouldn't cut it in the cold months but since its packed with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera it feels refreshing and left my skin hydrated and smooth.
Here's what Hugo Naturals says about their French Lavender Shower Gel "A handcrafted blend of vegan, cruelty-free ingredients to gently cleanse your skin. Enriched with pure essential oils and botanical extracts that work to hydrate and replenish essentiantal nutrients."
Ladies, let me know what other brands I need to check out at Whole Foods and if anyone else loves Hugo Naturals?

I love it! "Whole Paychecks"! I love the beauty aisle at Whole Foods! You really need to have a chunk of time (and money) to get a good look at all the great stuff there! I am not a fan of anything lavender (I know, whatever) but my husband gave me some of that Hugo shower gel as a gift. It does lather up quite nicely, but I can't take the scent. It's just a personal preference. My favorite find at WF is anything by Alba Naturals....especially their Hawaiian line!!!! I swear, every time I wash my hair with their Plumeria line or use the Papaya Mango exfoliating scrub, I feel like I'm in Maui!!! I love this stuff! I love anything I find at Whole Foods! And Sephora! :)
I feel the exact same way when I go Whole Foods. Unlike the gross grocery stores, Whole Foods feels clean and inviting and I never want to leave. I love products by Avalon Organics. Their Lavender moisturizer with sunscreen is wonderful as well as their Lavender Shampoos and Conditioners- heaven!
I love Hugo Naturals shampoo and conditioner. The shampooand conditioner for very dry hair w/ Ylang Ylang actuallyworks. I'm a Black American and it is difficult finding anatural shampoo that doesn't make my hair feel dry or leavemy scalp dry and itchy has not been easy. I haven't had dandruff since I've been using it and all I have to add after use is almond oil.
Another organic line is WELEDA, which is also available at Whole Foods - and Target... My new holy grail lotion is thier SEA BUCKTHORN BODY LOTION, which is a light enough for summer - never greasy - and the smell is fresh and light as well, but will never compete with your other fragrances. It's packaged in a cool, retro-looking blue glass bottle, which is "green" AND nice-looking. As for ingredients: no parabens, petroleum-based, or other harmful chemicals.
Meg, I feel your pain when it comes to Whole Paycheck. I love that place! I feel like a little kid in a candy store -- I get giddy when I go to the Whole Body section. It is paraben-free bliss! One of my favorites is Giovanni Organic haircare line. Their 50/50 Hair Remoisturizer is great and costs about 8 bucks, which gives me more $$ to spend on Juice Beauty, Suki and Dr. Hauschka. I've been wanting to try some more Suki products, but have been hesistant to fork over the dough. A couple of months ago, I got the Suki mini skin care kit for $35 (on sale, from 49.99). It had 8 good size samples (2 cleansers, 1 toner, 2 face moisturizers, 3 body creams + the eye balm). I also love the Alba Hawaiian line for its delicious smells!
Meg if you love Whole Foods then you definitely need to come to it's birth place...AUSTIN! We have the biggest and best Whole Foods downtown. I swear I could spend an entire afternoon there. It has underground parking with escalators. They play live music on the roof top deck. In the winter they have ice skating up there. They have a playscape for the kiddos. It is huuuuge. My new favorite find from there is the MyChelle brand of skincare products. I'm absolutely in love with the Ultra Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum and The Perfect C Serum. These feel and perform like high dollar lines I've tried and they are so affordable. I swear my face is glowing since I've been using these. I highly recommend this brand.
i am so glad that us makeup diva's are discovering natural products and that Whole Food, Vitamin Cottage, Wild Oats and many others are getting these products for us. I would love to see more info from anyone who has tried any of these products. When I walk through Whole Paycheck, I am overwhelmed on what to buy and need to know what has my gals at Megs tried and what did they say about the product. One I did try first by mail order and then discovered it was at Whole Foods is Indigo Wild zum bars. They smell great and make your skin nice and soft. I suggest giving them a try. I love the Frankincense and Myrhh.
Not into lavender smells but this is quite tempting. Lavender, the word, looks calm and pleasant but maybe it's just me but I think it smells a bit odd. The colour that associates lavender, lilac, really goes with it though.
Pretty cool :)
I love me a great smelling shower gel!Plus I really like levander smells!

ive seen something similar too this at dollar general
sounds great
I love the organic skincare products! Gotta try that one on iherb along with Mychelle!
Have not heard of Hugo. Thanks for the review.
My favorite thing to get at Whole Paycheck is Bitch Grenache or Bitch Bubbly. Some of the best wine ever and such a cute bottle.
I've not heard of this brand, and can only assume it's not sold where I am. I tend to prefer to use hand made soaps instead of body wash, mainly as I like to collect the different scents and often find commercial body wash too harsh for my skin.
OMG I have gotten so many great things from whole foods over the years - we live in Austin so we've had whole foods since the day it opened - I love their huge fuji apples and their all natural eye shaddows - not the lip balms though - they are always a little funny to me
I've tried their sprays from iHerb, very well priced
