SATURDAYS AT SEPHORA! NEW AND FABULOUS!
Kate2004rock brings you the inside secrets of Sephora as only an insider can!
Spring is coming, thankfully! I like winter, but I do NOT like to walk across campus when its 20 degrees outside. I did not sign up for this frigid weather, this is Mississippi after all! Besides the groundhog and the shadow and all that, spring also means new collections at Sephora! And let me tell you, there are a few things that I am excited about! Like...
Urban Decay Loose Pigment Shadows. "These powdery-fine, silky-soft shadows deliver more intense color than pressed or cream eyeshadows. Try a little for a sheer wash of color, or layer for bold, shimmering hues. With everything from bold brights to pretty neutrals, there's something for everyone!" I really like how there's some of the standard, (and wonderful) colors like shattered, baked, smog, and X and also some really fabulous looking new ones like Rockstar.
You know when guys start talking about TV's and Megabytes and Hi-def? Well I get that sort of glazed look when they do--it doesn't mean anything. It might as well be in Chinese. But now, I won't have to...because Cargo has translated it into my language with their new blu_ray collection. "The blu_ray™ Collection is an assortment of CARGO's newly created blu_ray™ products. Developed in response to the needs of makeup artists shooting in high definition, these specialized products work for high-def and are ideal for perfecting the skin while still giving a natural look." First of all, they come in this really sleek, futuristic packaging. Compacts - no more tins that can cut a slice in your finger deep enough to cause major blood loss (been there...)! You get a blush, highlighter, mascara, foundation, and gloss quad for $59 - that's a steal!
And just when you think Stila couldn't get any more divine (the black smudge pot is my best friend) - they go and come out with Shadow DUOS! HOLY CRAP! Kajiki with pewter gray/aqua blue looks so pretty! Look out NARS duos - these are gonna give you a run for your money with these lovely color combinations - and $12 cheaper too!
We love makeup. We love Korres. Korres now makes makeup - and its only available at Sephora! Water-based foundations (oil-free) with Ginger, Vitamins, and SPF 10? LOVE it! Mango Butter Lipsticks with SPF 10 that nourish, hyrdate and soothe lips in beautiful, wearable colors. Get the paper bag, I'm hyperventilating! (By the way if you've never used the pure mango butter for dry wind-damaged beat up skin, you havent lived). I might just be ordering some of this for myself! I NEEEEED one of those lipsticks!

I've been browsing other sites and learned about the Stila duos. They look stunning. I know I will have to pick up a few. I love the fact that the duos are in a separate tins so that you can mix and match! I still haven't received my pack from the Stila sale but I know that I will fall in love with the shadows:) Until I get those I'm loving Vincent Longo eyeshadow color in Ima - so pretty!! I use it everyday.
Those Stila duos are beautiful, especially that grey and blue one. It's very similar to the LE Laguna Agate palette that was available in the fall, that sold out almost right away. I got it (duh) and these 2 colors are so amazing on. Highly reccomended. Plus, they fit in the standard Stila palettes, so you can sneak extra colors in the same amount of space. You could have 8 shadows instead of 4. Stila shadows are the best too, not too shimmery, wear really long without any creasing. My favorite shadows are all Stila!
If you want to see a gorgeous eye lid using "Shattered" from Urban Decay's Loose Pigment Shadows, take a look at this post:http://mythbusterbeauty.com/2008/01/13/mos-eye-art-shattered-by-urban-decay/. That Cargo blu_ray set looks dreamy!
Oh, Desertdoll! Thanks for reminding me - I have that Laguna Agate palette too!

I hate when you know more than the salespeople! Hey, Stila is offering free shiping right now on any of their new E/S duos or the matte shadows. Just enter: STILAEYES at the check out.
Oh damn, Katie - I just got home from Sephora 10 minutes ago and now I feel that I have to run back there right away to get the Stila grey/blue duo! And I agree with Doll on the other post - throw away nothing, embrace your madness - at least you have every beautiful product available to you when you need it. I too have some of those guilt feelings sometimes, so I do try and use up things before buying more - but some days you feel like digging out other not-so-used products - so at least you have them. The only thing that REALLY bugs me is my monstrous collection of sample eyeshadows - pretty sure I have every color Lancome has ever made - and I'm happy to have such a palette, but my problem is I'm not good at picking out what goes with what - and I wish they were all on one palette so I could look at all the colors in one glance - I know they're all in there but I have to dig, dig, dig. For example, I received the UD shadow in Illegal from Meg like some of the other t-shirt ordering brown-eyed ladies did. I thought it washed me out, though - at least by itself. So, instead of digging through my shadows to find a good complement to it, I took it as the perfect excuse to go to Sephora and have the ladies there help me with some new UD shadows! They hooked me up with Purple Haze shadow, Crash liquid eyeliner (so fun), Video gloss, and Greedy lip stain (these stains are so cool, I'm really gonna be in trouble now!). So, in conclusion of this novel, thank you for the info on the new products that I must add to my collection - I think it is very ironic too that these 2 conflicting posts come out on the same day - perfect!! We need boyfriends that can build us some kind of little makeup holder palette thingy for our bathroom walls so we can line them - and decorate them - with all of our wonderful colors, etc. to choose from...
Katie! How do you expect me to pay off my credit card debt from France if you keep telling me about all these things I want and need?!?! Sigh... anyway, what perked my interest the most was the Korres lipstick. I like the multi-tasking idea of SPF and color; it's very ingenius. Maybe I'll reward myself for getting through the first week of classes next week with new lipstick. Yay!
I've been looking around this site for a couple of weeks now, made careful little sticky notes on all the stuff I wanted at Sephora and then finally ventured out there on Saturday (I thought that was appropriate). I was so excited & my fiancee actually went with me. At the top of the list was The Balmshelter tinted moisturizer & concealer. I even checked online first to see what shades they had. I asked a lady who worked there where it was & she told me,"They don't make that." I was like, hmmm...are you sure? She said yup & told me they made a concealer & she lead me to a tiny shelf hidden in corner. I couldn't let it go- I said are you sure they don't make something called Balmshelter. She still said no & so did another girl that worked there. Then they went online & came back & told me no Balmshelter, butthere is a lipgloss....long story short most of my list wasn't there, but I did get Umbrian Clay mask by Fresh, (triedto sniff Michael Kors Hawaii, but they ran out), got a little Caudalie travel pouch,(asked for Caudalie samples but they said Caudalie doesn't give them samples) L'Occtaine Olive Oil face cleanser. I can't tell you how much money Iat Sephora each year, but this trip was like the Twilight Zone to me. I'll hace to regroup & try again in a coupleweeks. cleanser
OOh I love the Ultraglide gloss in video! I have Lust and Kiss too!
Katie
That sucks Steve's girl - sounds like they dont know their sh*t at that Sephora! They were thinking of the Bombshell lipgloss which is not even the same brand. They must not have had the full line from TheBalm. Try a different location or Sephora.com. And Caudalie DOES give samples--that's ridiculous. I would complain on Sephora.com if I were you! They should always make you a sample if they don't have any of the prefabricated ones that Caudalie makes. And that Michael Kors Hawaii was limited edition - but there's a new scent that just came out soon called Capri which I imagine will be similar to what Hawaii was.

im going to try both the mango butter lipstick and the stila duos, thanks :]
everything in sephora is beautiful, but tooo expensive ;(
oooo! mango!
sephora is awesome!
i love this
I love Sephora. They give me presents each yr for my bday =)
damn too bad they dont do this anymore..
Want to go.
Sephora <3
I'm about due for another trip to the local Sephora! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love Sephora!
I didn't like UD's loose pigment shadows. It's so hard to control; I get too much on the brush and it falls everywhere. I prefer pressed for less mess. I wouldn't want to waste any fab shadow!
Wish there was a sephora where i live. Sounds like an amazing shop!
I miss Sephora!!! Can you believe it? There's no Sephora in Belgium!
I love Urban Decay, but I haven't tried their Loose Pigment Shadows yet.

ahahaha! I went into Sephora today but I was with my significant other who was waiting impatiently outside. Sooooo I couldn't browse too much, I just bought the one item I went in for (a pencil sharpener, big whoop)
Love Sephora.
Looks good!
Korres has decent stuff. Prefer their skincare to makeup

Yay Sephora, yay Urban Decay. So fun. Can I just say that the one thing I feel like Ulta has on Sephora: less expensive options as well as the high end. It's more fun to shop there, I think, cause you can splurge and then save. Makes me feel better!
