FRAGRANT SIGNATURES - SATURDAYS AT SEPHORA!
Every Saturday Kate2004rock brings you Sephora information like only an insider can!
You know it's fall when my mom puts all her fall decorations out. She goes more all out for fall than she does Christmas. Likes the colors better. You know its fall when the guys in the neighborhood had a huge, inflatable 12 foot projector screen out on the driveway for everyone in the neighborhood to watch Thursday night football. Fall is always about change isn't it? It seems my life is headed that way - friends getting married, outgrowing friendships, the huge September Vogue. Ok, that isn't a change - but it's still AWESOME! There are two types of women in the world: those that wear a different perfume everyday and those that wear the same scent from Sweet Sixteen to the cemetery. But girls, I am challenging you this week. Branch out! I'm offering you some If-Thens for the Fragrance world (I've been writing Saturday posts for about 3 months now and I have yet to write on Fragrance. And really - I should!) So happy experimentation!
If you love Thierry Mugler's Angel (which apparently everyone does - I've still never smelled it) - then give Lolita Lempicka a whirl. It come in this whimsical apple-shaped bottle and you press down on the stem to get a squirt. It's a fabulous vanity piece and much more grown up than Angel (I hear).
If you've been wearing Clinique Happy since age 13, then step into something more sultry with Benefit's Maybe Baby. I mean, it turns me on just sniffing it. Imagine what it will do with that cute waiter...
This is not intended as blasphemy. I realize that Chanel #5 is a classic. It will never die. It is eternal. That being said, there's definitely a little breathing room to branch out SOME. Guerlain's Shalimar is just as classic, and vested, and French as Chanel. But just a little different. Go sniff!
Burberry London is a really popular fragrance. But, personally, I like to always be just a little bit different. At least half a step ahead. Check out MaxMara instead. Duh.
If you're American Classic. Preppy and tasteful. You probably wear Michael Kors. But Carolina Herrera would be a good substitute.
Ladies - what are your fragrance favorites!?!

I wear Burberry Brit EDT most of the time, but I also wear Armani Acqua di Gio for men in the summer (perfect for nautical themed outfits, black or grey). I will be buying Thierry Mugler Angel B for Men for autumn/winter... this scent lasts forever on the skin and is soooo delicious, it's kind of hard to find in comparison to the other TM scents. I tried it on at the mall a few weeks ago and I couldn't stop smelling my arm on the way home, which was kinda unsafe because I was riding my bike... Another good wintery scent is YSL Rive Gauche, it is very seductive and mysterious.
Ohhhh, this is a fun post! I love perfume!! Right now I have been alternating Juicy Couture& Pink Sugar (very nice for Summer), I do love Fracus too(thanks Meg, I copied her on that one!). I use to wear Coco Chanel (morein the Winter) alot, and years ago it was Angel. I have lots of perfumeson my Vanity, it another sickness I have besides makeup, but right now it is allabout the Juicy & Pink Sugar! Love these!! I even mix it up and wear the Pink Sugarlotion and then spray a little Juicy on my wrists and neck, it smells yummy together(well I think so, and so does hubby ;)).
I'm a clean/floral/citrus. Latest in rotation are YSL Baby Doll, Jil Sander Pure, Kenzo Parfum d'Ete, Henri Bendel in Orange Blossom, Jo Malone's Lime, Basil & Mandarin. Occasionally I'll splash on Marc Jacobsor J'adore Dior, and always I will love Anais Anais and YSL Paris...
OMG I just looked over at my vanity and I have way too many. I usually go for scents with Vanilla or musk bases. Really flowery ones give me a headache. I have the classics like Chanel no 5 and Allure. I usually wear those in the winter along with Allure Sensuelle. I love Angel and Coco Mlle for summer. I also really like food scents like Comptoir Sud Pacifique Amour de Cacao - it smells really chocolatey but not in a fake way. I also use good old vanilla body spray from Bath and Body Works every day under my perfume. Oh yeah and my latest purchase was Guerlain Insolence. I think it smells like Mr. Bubble bath soap! Takes me back to the good old days! I guess the one I get the most compliments on from guys is Angel by Thierry Mugler. My ex was obsessed with it! Therefore, I have almost the entire line: spray, solid perfume, lotion, hair mist, etc.
I told you. Strawberryfields and I have been known to get crazy.

Man oh man, I love me some perfume! I love oriental, sandalwood type scents and white florals (gardenia, tuberose etc.) And my favorite perfumes are ones that combine the 2: Bond No 9 Chinatown (I get the most compliments on this one), Versace Crystal Noir and Tom Ford Black Orchid. Some other notables: Kai, Shalimar Light, Michael Kors, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. And I'm loving Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab oils lately too. I believe we're going to be reviewing them soon and I'm going to save my gushing till then.
My siggy scent is amazing grace by philosophy. I occasionally layer it with falling in love, also by philosophy. I have been wearing those 2 fragrances ONLY...for about 4 years now. I just branched out by buying Michael Kors Hawaii...I'm so in love with it...it's sickening. I find myself walking over to the bottle and just sniffing it...even though I'm already wearing it. It's the best scent ever. I haven't worn amazing grace for 2 weeks ..and low and behold...I'm not having withdrawels!!! Yay..me!!! I love anything that smells like Jasmine...so, if anyone has any other suggestions....bring them on!!!
i like miss dior cherie too! it's not my favorite SCENT per se, but the bottle is so adorable and i'm obsessed with herringbone, so there you go! it looks pretty on my vanity. right now i have to agree with tasha - MICHAEL KORS HAWAII!!! omg it smells so delish. favorite work scents: DKNY be delicious and ralph lauren blue. they are both fresh and long lasting, kind of a pick me up throughout the day. going out scents: narciso rodriguez and angel pivoinne. the narciso is gorgeous, i think most women agree on that, and incredibly sexy. and angel mixed with peony fragrance really softens the scent (the original angel is much to overpowering, IMO). of course, my all-year, every time of day fragrance is bobby brown beach. i don't think i'll ever tire of it. and in san diego, it really does attract the boys! they always sidle up to me and ask "are you wearing sunscreen? do you surf?"
Did you know you can't even get Shalimar light in the U.S. anymore, desertdoll? I love that one too.
Katie
Kate-I didn't even know you could get Shalimar Light anywhere anymore. That trip to Paris just may be in order!
My most shameful fragrance has to be Paris Hiltons signature. My hubby loves it and it's a great work scent. I've got DKNY Delish as well but I don't use that often. Do any of you wear Opium? What are your thoughts on it? I've read great reviews about it, but I would have to drive an hour to a place that sells it to even smell it.
Ok there are three material things in life that I will never have enough of. They are shoes, purses and fragrances. I have 32 bottles on my vanity right now. I have scents for winter, spring, fall and summer as well as dressy, casual, romantic and what I call "work" scents. When I'm going fragrance shopping, I bring my own beans because some places don't do that anymore, this seems insane I'm sure especially since I don't even drink coffee. Anyway, I'm really mad that VS has announced to the world that heavenly is the number one scent in America because now a ton of people are wearing it, it was my signature scent. I was asked 15X's a day "What are you wearing? It smells divine!". So now I'm searching for a new signature. I love Hugo Boss, Deep Red and Armani Code for fall and winter. Clinque Happy is a good one but Maybe Baybe is better. I could go on and on, I will say one thing and I'm sure I am going to be struck down by a make-up goddess as soon as I type this, but I think Chanel #5 smells gross, at least on me it does.
Ah, perfume. I've always wanted to be one of those girls who has a signature scent (and wore it "from sweet sixteen to the cemetary") . But I've never found "the one" that I fell in love with. So my search continues. Meanwhile, I wear Chanel No. 5, which every girl in my family gets on her 16th birthday, and get's replaced whenever she runs out. I also still occasionally rock the Tommy Girl from my days of high school... haha. Recently, I smelled Gwen Stefani's new L.A.M.B. scent, and I LOVED it. Sadly, so did my little sis, so now we're fighting over who gets to ask for it for Christmas. And finally, I smelled a sample of some Givenchy perfume recently... no idea what it was called though. All I know is that Liv Tyler was the model for the add.
OOOOO indeed! Orgasm multiple? My god, that's genius.
My go-to's? Fracas in the summer. I love it in the warm months. I go all out and layer with the cream and body talc. Spring? I am a devoted Creed girl.Creed Spring Flowers is probablly my most favorite scent ever. Winter? I still love the 80's version of YSL Paris.Intermittendly I rotate about 40 bottles but those are my top 3.
That's Very Irresistable with Liv Tyler

I am an oriental fragrance girl at heart and I actually hate the way Mugler Angel smells on me, but it always smells fantastic on everyone else. With that said, Lolita Lempicka owns my fragrant soul, and her new fragrance L, is officially my new signature fragrance. They just released it, and I ran to Sephora today to try it on, and I am in lust, love, and everything else in between with this fragrance.I still love my Guerlain Insolence, Comptoir Sud Pacifique Amour de Cacao, and YSL Baby Doll, and of course Lolita Lempicka. L will just be taking front spot on the vanity.I also picked up a new curling mascara, Courbe Virtuôse by Lancome, instead of the Diorshow Blackout I was going to try. Hopefully I didn't make a huge mistake. I'll let you know!OOOOO and did you see they made Nars Orgasm into a Mutiple!!!!!!!!
Bunny, I think Opium is yummy. It's a very rich and deep smelling oriental scent. It's pretty heavy though. I'd call it a night scent. Worth a sniff for sure!
I LOVE Miss Dior Cherie. That's pretty much my favorite. Boys LOVE the smell of Versace Red Jeans - which is a vintage bottle now, because they don't make it anymore. I also get a lot of compliments on Bulgari Omnia Crystelline. I also have Ralph Lauren's Hot, Cool, and Ralph Rocks in regular rotation. I also love me some Chanel Coco Madamoiselle. And I really need to break down and buy Nanette Lepore's Love Bird. It is so different and loveley. I'm also ashamed to admit that I love Hilary Duff's fragrance.
Katie
I totally rock the fragrance wardrobe like Bunny. I switch things out based on seasons, events, etc. That being said, my heart belonged to VS Peach Hyacinth but the dang fools discontinued it and I die a thousand deaths a day because it's no longer available. I usually like to use fragrances that complement my bath products, so Hypnotic Poison is my late fall/winter fragrance because it goes really well with all of the baked goods/foody type scents I like then. I'll occasionally mix things up with Aquolina Chocolovers. Spring and Summer are usually Maybe Baby, Pink Sugar, or Fresh Lemon Sugar. Late summer and early fall are usually Lolita Lempicka or Cynthia Rowley. On my bum days I'll rock a Demeter fragrance, though their staying power is kind of sucky.
haha clinique happy that takes me back just like ralph lauren's line i wore that all through high school. right now i'm loving givenchy's very irresistable and juicy couture. oh and celine dion's belong that's a nice classic smell.i used to have waaaaay too many perfumes when i worked at macy's it was so bad how much i squeezed my employee discounts on perfumes and shoes lol.
My current favorite is Paris Hilton's Heiress. I found it deeply discounted at local air force base and just ran out of it! I will have to go back on base to look for it. I've been complimented more times wearing this perfume than any other perfume I've ever worn. I used Clinique Happy in high school (2003) and also got a lot of compliments. I'm a Juicy Couture junkie so I have that perfume and just fell in the love with the new Couture Couture scent. But Heiress is still the current fave!
A friend bought me Juicy Couture as a gift and I love it. I also have Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Juicy is probably my favorite though. I want to buy Burberry. Whenever I pass the perfume section at the mall I spritz it on.
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

I love perfume but my fav is ralph lauren blue. I have to say though that I own more than 20 and I change it up depending on my mood I like to be different all the time I hate wearing the same perfume more than 2 days in a row ....I guess I get bored easily but I definately would say the perfumes you wear say allot about your personality.Cristal
loves: chance by chanel and narciso rodrigues for her (toilette not parfum).my first 'adult' perfume was very irresistible by givenchy.
I just received a very tiny sample of Thierry Mugler's Angel body lotion and fell in love with it. I never ever ever thought I'd want to smell like chocolate but this has a very sensual, deep, Oriental scent to it.
Nice! the review was great!
I'm pretty experimental with fragrances...one of my fave ways to purchase is when StrawberryNET has a sale and I pick the most obscure fragrance I can find. I've found some gems that way and never have I bought something that was stinky on me. My faves are Jean Charles Brousseau Ombre Bleu and Van Cleef & Arpels Birmane. Other more common scents I wear are Hugo Boss Deep Red and CK IN2U. And Bvlgari Homme which smells AMAZING with my chemistry. My boyfriend originally bought it for himself but I appropriated it after discovering it smelt like dirt on him. Literally like dirt! Hehe.

Well, I don't know how new they are, but they're new to me. I love the Marc Jacobs Daisy (I have the ring with the solid scent in my purse, too), and Viva La Juicy (and I keep it's roll on in my purse). Both smell wonderful, but I have little luck with staying power of fragrances, so I have to carry smaller versions with me.
Chanel no5 is the top fragance for me!!!
B&BW Moonlight Path :)
Betsey Johnson for day and Cartier for night.
lol @ picture.
i'm currently loving bond no. 9 scent of peace. it's beautiful, fresh, and soothing, all at once.
I'm not a big perfume wearer. I love smelling it in the bottle, but rarely does it ever seem like "me." I'm on the hunt for a great scent and there have been a lot of great recommendations. I love smelling Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue, DKNY Be Delicious, Marc Jacobs Daisy and Burberry London.
I'm currently working my way through a stash of sample fragrances that I have. Once I work my way through it, I want to find a nice signature fragrance to stick with, but I hate how expensive most perfumes are. I might just end up getting a bottle of Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar perfume because I love the smell of vanilla and so does my fiance. It isn't exactly a sophisticated fragrance, but that's okay with me. I finished off a sample of DKNY Be Delicious recently, and I did really like that scent too.
I was looking up DKNY Be delicious and found this post, love it. I never was much for perfume until I got Bella by Mary Kay a few years ago, and I love that scent. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. Recently I tried DKNY Be Delicious because I won a roll on perfume and lipgloss in that scent. I went out and bought the perfume because I love it so much - perfectly fruity but not over the top, and fresh smelling.
lover of beauty, sharer of opinions http://prettylightsbeauty.blogspot.com/
I love Burberry Brit and Womanity but I go thru lots of different stages and switch up my perfumes all the time. I remember my first perfume that became a staple was "Curve" hehe.
I love Burberry original, Ralph (Ralph Lauren) but I still want to discover new fragrances!
Oh I love perfume advice where they tell you - if you like this then... it takes all the guess work out for me!! I have no idea what the top note in my J'adore but I know I've worn it for 10 years now and I don't think I'll ever change. Ever!
