KLORANE!! Wild Cornflower Sensitive Eye Make-Up Remover!!!

Wed, 01/18/2006 - 3:34pm
  • Eyes

Make-Up remover is the red-headed stepchild of make-up conversation. I know your moisturizer, your lipstick and your mascara brand. I don't know how the heck you get it off at night. I am also conflicted on why we take it off? I know every beauty magazine I have ever read said it is the 8th deadly sin to sleep with your make-up on. My question is basically, why? Why is it o.k. to wear all day but God forbid you fall asleep with it on? I did a small amount of research and this is what I found ,"Don’t go to bed with makeup on. Studies show your skin ages 13 days when you do that, says Sarah Hoover, an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay.
O.K., fine. I'll take that at "face value". I love the nightlife. I love to boogie. I love to fall into bed with my full face plastered on. I had NO IDEA the 13 days I kept adding. Do you realized my skin is around 250 years old at this point? Oh My God!
What about Jackie Collins? I read an interveiw where said that a man should never see you without your make-up. She applies a fresh coat BEFORE bed. Can someone please call her and tell her to stop? My God!! At this rate her skin is 2,000 years old!! We need to intervene!
I know I live on the edge but had NO Clue of the true danger. Thank-you very much Klorane for sending this product. There is nothing more annoying then waking up with permanent racoon eyes! What does the site claim to do? "Klorane Wild Cornflower Eye Make-up Remover, the soothing and decongestant properties of Cornflower extract. This very gentle lotion easily removes eye make-up, yet ensures perfect tolerance".
Was Klorane tolerant and gentle to your less then die-hard make-up removing routine? Are you sold on saving those 13 days? Was it a pleasant, easy experience?
LADIES PLEASE POST YOUR FINDINGS!!!

Finally, a gentle eye-make up remover that didn't leave a greasy, oily film around my eyes and on my lashes. My only complaint was that it might be a bit too gentle on stubborn mascara, as I was still turing my towels black even after having used the Klorane. I definitely do recommend Klorane- the gentle nature of this product is definitely worth it for avoiding the "oily eyes" as well as for being safe enough for us contact-lens wearers.

The pros: minimal scent, gentle, non irritating, great at removing shadow and eye liner. The downside: doesn't work on my mascara. I don't even wear waterproof... MAC Fibrelash. Fortunately, I wash my face after, and my face wash took the mascara right off. Isn't the point of eye makeup remover to remove even the most stubborn mascara?

I have a cleansing milk that I use to remove makeup so the liquid consistency of this product was hard for me to get used to. After using it a number of times I like the consistency of my cleansing milk better. It did work, but like my fellow tester, shopb, I didn't see all of my mascara gone.

I liked this product just fine. The scent was great but I had to use a lot of it to get everything off. I don't even wear that much makeup. I mostly keep it in my bedroom drawer in case i forget to wash my face before bed and too lazy to get up again.

Two thumbs up for this excellent, non greasy, great smelling eye make-up remover! Not only does it get ALL the stuff off, but it does it with style...NO MORE "post-eye-make-up-remover-scrubbing" to get the excess make-up and greasy remover off. I don't know if my eyes are especially sensitive, but I definitely would know if they were irritated and using this remover everyday in windy/dry conditions has left my eyes and the skin around them clean and moist!

I'm with lulubird, 2 thumbs up. I had used this product in the past, but then couldn't find it any longer. I was thrilled to see that Meg had contacted them. It's was just as I remembered. No stinging, not greasy and a lovely scent. Once this is gone Meg, oh Meg where can I get it???? You tease you...............

Yum yum yum, I absolutely love this product. Others I've used have either been too oily, or sting my eyes. This product seems to give the perfect mix of muscle and mildness. And, I think the bottle looks prettier on my shelf than those Clearasil-like pads I've been using recently. Bring on the blue, baby!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. I have tried every remover out there, when it went awaya while back I had to have friends send it from europe. I have sensitve dry eyes, and until a few years ago wore contacts. This never leaves a film on your eye the next day, it doesn't cause swelling and even after my lasix surgery I used this as it is so gentle. I don't use waterproof very often, but when I do I put a warm washclothe on myeye for a few seconds that takes off a lot then use the klorane and it still works. They also make a hair removal for the face that is only available in europe now, they usedto have it here but stopped. I wish we could lobby them to bring it back it is so gentle and wonderful for anywhere you need a quick removal with no redness or bumps. Again, it is superior to the other products out there. I wish somewhere \over here carried the whole line.

I have been using this product for ten years now, it is great for removing every type of makeup you put in/on, in the eye area. If it gets in your eye, usu. with waterproof mascara removal, it does not leave a film over your eye and sting like a bugger, however its not available everywhere..my trips to europe or to canada, usually find me stocking up...its great for contacts and when your're sinus allergies are making it painful just to think of putting on eye makeup. It has a soothing, calming effect, making your eyes feel refreshed after using it...I won't use anything else, and would rather go without eye makeup than know I have to use something else if I have run out.....

Some days I've got some major war paint to remove.I mean it, I can really whore it up at times. This stuff removes my evidence no problem. And does so with a very lady-like soft rose scent. And as Lulu says, without any greasiness. I'm also a packaging snob, so I love the cobalt blue bottle and EXTRA LARGE size. This stuff is really nice!

I don't usually use a make-up remover. You can usually tell what color palate I used on my face by referencing my white towel (that is no longer white, but a mosaic of beauty products). I especially have trouble getting black eye liner off. I never even thought to buy a make-up remover (I did however think about contacting an art gallery about curating a show of my make-up covered towels, but decided the art world was not ready for me).Now my dreams of being the Picasso of the avant gaurde art scene is gone forever! And so is all my black eyeliner!! My suggestion on how best to utilize this product is to wash your face with your regular face wash and then dip a q-tip into the remover and finish taking off your eye make-up that way. You can practically use it right in your eye! It has no sting at all! Smells great!! And yes, the bottle is shiny and pretty. If I ever run out of this monsterouly large bottle of remover I will be buying it again, for sure. Now I must go and figure out another way to channel my artistic inclinations!

My first reaction to this generous bottle of eye make-up remover was to ohh and ahh over the pretty bottle. This one doesn't have to hid in my medicine cabinet - which means I may use it more at bedtime - instead of skimping my way through my nightly rituals.Being a contact lens wearer, my eyes can be a little sensitive so I was wary of a remover that was scented. But no problems for me and no stinging or itchiness. I like the light clean scent! The remover cleared away my make up - even my water proof mascara with an extra application or two. The Klorane remover left my eye area clean and matte without any sticky or greasy residue like other "sensitive eye" removers can. Good stuff!

Like all you others, the only downfall of this remover was that it didn't remove my mascara too well. I didn't care too much for the scent also...but that's my personal preference.Loved the bottle and the no Stinging effect. But truthfully, I don't think i'll buy this product again due to the mascara effect. 9:51 PM

I too am happy about the no oily eyes factor but it is hard to get excited about eye makeup remover. I was initially a little put off by the ginormous bottle (packaging freak that I am) but now I find myself wondering, why do those other bottles have to be so small? I would buy it again but I don't think I'll run out in the next 30 years.

I smoke, I drink, I do both too much. I fall (literally) into bed. Look at the time I'm posting. I just got back from a night out with BEBE! All I can kind of remember is Bebe sticking dollar bills down a gay man's G-String while I sucked down a beer and cheered her on.THIS IS A SCHOOL NIGHT OUT FOR ME!!!I never remember to take off my make-up. Ever. I can't deal with the hassle, you know, lock your door, remove your clothes.ETC. ETC.This Klorane is absolutely genius! I am hooked!! Great, another addiction! Doesn't hurt my contacts. Drunk Ass face wiped clean. No sting. No nothing, except a clear, fresh palette to apply nightime moisturizer. WHEN I REMEMBER TO DO SO!!! The ease and smell is a bonus. Non-greasy and lovely!! Two Thumbs Way UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that I will give this a shot. Almost every remover that I try stings the hell out of my eyes. It makes me not want to wear eye make-up! But hey if this works maybe I can do a lot more with my eyes. I also read that Physician's Formula has some new organic and very gentle remover pads coming out. Maybe I will try those too!

I'm sketch on eye makeup removers because I'm worried they'll break me out somewhere else on my face.  Plus, I don't wear heavy duty eye makeup so it's probably an unnecessary step.  I should invest in a bottle anyway, for the rare occasions I do wear mascara and such.

Hmm, don't see a link. I wonder how much it costs. Everyone seems to say it doesn't work on mascara, which is pretty much an everyday thing for most women - so this doesn't seem like the best product to try. I mean I don't want to give up the purpose of a makeup remover just so it will be gentle.

Let's all enjoy the Summer sunshine!

If it works on waterproof mascara without removing 2-3 eyelashes at the time then it's good. But given that I can find the same quality in a lower price sorry but I prefer the lower one.
